Great Pregnancy App to get started

I actually really enjoyed doing the Juna workouts when I found out I was about 10W pregnant because I was following a strength training program just before and had to stop because some exercises weren’t safe anymore. I love that Juna gives you upper, lower, and total body workouts just like I was doing before. The only thing I wish they would change up are the warmups, they’re the same ones and get boring so I would modify and do my own. Other than that, I really enjoyed the workouts because they go by fast and make me break a sweat. I have a month to go before my EDD and have been feeling lazy this past month and half so I’ll probably get started on it again. Plus Juna has lots of great info on nutrition built in based on how many weeks you are and I love it. Let’s me focus on what foods I should be eating to nourish my baby. Overall it’s a great app and I definitely recommend it. Just change the warmups please! ;) thanks!

Everything I’ve been looking for

During my first pregnancy several years ago, I was frustrated looking for adequate yet appropriate workouts. At the same time, prenatal fitness and nutrition advice was contradictory and confusing depending upon the source. Finally there is an app dedicated to keeping you in shape (yay! I actually sweat during my prenantal workouts!) and also keeping you and baby healthy during pregnancy. I’m so grateful for my pregnancy this time around I can be supported mind and body through this one stop shop. All the workouts, nutrition information, and recipes as well as information on your growing baby is in one place. The app is so user friendly, the workouts and recipes are awesome and feel tailored to me, and I love the Juna community (Facebook page, podcast etc) that comes along with the app. The best part is, I can use this even after I have the baby as well to help get my body back safely and to talk to other moms in the same stage as me. If you are pregnant, thinking about getting pregnant or postpartum you NEED this app! Thank you Juna!!!! 🙌

Get it!

I love this app. I started working out at 5 months and I’m now 27 weeks. I am the type of person who needs a class to workout to not only stay motivated, but to be told what to do! I have no idea how to work out on my own! Each workout goes by quickly (45 seconds each exercise) and there’s a video that is played for the entire 45 seconds, showing you what to do and how. I also like how they have pregnant woman doing the workouts. There’s recipes, tips, and even a Facebook group! This has been awesome to have, especially during COVID. I appreciate that I can connect with a community of other pregnant woman and mommies who share my anxieties and concerns.

Juna is a great help!

The Juna app was appealing to me for the workouts. I was doing higher intensity exercises before I got pregnant and wasn’t having a hard time finding my groove during the first trimester. I’ve got cardio down but lower motivation and inspiration when it comes to strength workouts. Using Juna in my home before a run or before work has helped me immensely. I’m sticking with it! I don’t use the nutrition feature that much since I’m an RD and have a different pregnancy app as well. I will say I felt a little tricked when I was automatically charged for entire year instead of the $20 per month after my 7 day free trial. I decided I will likely use it more than 5 months so it will be worth it and paid the $100 without complaining (until now). I also will mention the workouts changed and there is no longer cardio guidance, just 2 days per week when you are told to do cardio on your own. I kind of liked hopping and running around my room! Anyway overall great addition to helping me stay healthy throughout my pregnancy and I highly recommend.

Could be a lot better

I’ve only had Juna for a few weeks and while there are definitely pros, there are some pretty frustrating cons. For example you can’t look ahead to what workouts they recommend on which day and you can’t swipe through them on the home screen. Then when you go into the exercise screen there’s no way of knowing which you have already done, like a way to check them off for example. Since I don’t always follow the suggested workout for the day and instead go into the exercise panel I have ended up doing the same workout by mistake. Also, the warm up and cool downs are always the same and they don’t correspond to the exercises you’re doing. So for example you do an entire arm workout but the warm up and cool down always focuses on your legs. It’s frustrating, I’m going to give it another week before I decide if I’m going to cancel.

Exactly what I needed

I am a big fan of Juna and find the workouts excellent for pregnancy. I am still shaping and strengthening but not over exerting. Prior to becoming pregnant, I had been a loyal user of the Sweat app/BBG program but since they didn’t have a pregnancy safe program I started researching and trialing other pregnancy-safe apps that would make me feel just as good as I did with my former Sweat workouts. Juna was the best fit and I’m now in my second trimester and have been pleased with the experience. It did take me some time to adjust to doing exercises that were timed instead of counting reps. But once I got used to it I liked it because I found I wasn’t rushing through the motion and the video helped me make sure I was keeping form. My only qualm is that it’s kinda of difficult to preview the entire workout ahead of time, and I don’t love that it’s the same exact warmup and cool down for each workout. You would think if it’s a lower body day you’d focus on those areas vs doing the same warmup/cooldown you’d do on an upper body day. Otherwise, I love it!

Made my 2nd pregnancy easier!

I’ve been doing Juna Moms workouts fairly regularly since the beginning of this pregnancy. I have one month to go, and I can’t help but compare how I feel now to how I felt around this time with my first. This pregnancy has been so much easier!! I attribute a lot of it to having been doing more core stability exercises appropriately throughout this pregnancy with the app. With my first, I generally avoided any core workouts since I was afraid of getting diastasis recti. With this app, you strengthen your deeper core over time, and there’s no worries whether a certain exercise is safe to do since they are specifically tailored to the pregnancy week. The nutrition tips are a bonus! The whole family has enjoyed everything we’ve tried so far. They are generally quick, simple recipes and have been easy to incorporate when it sounds good. A few favorites are the banana walnut muffins, pear cashew cream cheese toast, maple dijon salmon, and the quick ginger beef stir fry. The smoothies are always fun to try, too! Highly recommend this app, and am looking forward to it helping my postpartum recovery soon!!

Useful but not incomplete

The app has some great qualities. I love it that it gives workout tailored to each week and that it feels like I know I’m safe doing the workouts. I love the little courses. I have a couple improvements I’d love to see…1. On the meditation it sounds like the woman is teaching in a large space and her energy & voice is kind of aggressive- it feels like not so relaxing. Would love just a gentle voice not feeling like a class recording where she’s speaking up loud to the folks in the back.2. Would love to be able to log my workouts, for a calendar to show what I’ve done and log my cardio.Overall the app is decent and I’ll keep it- just wish it had a few more capabilities.

LOVE! Only app of its kind!

This app has it all for pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum health! I really enjoy that I can come here for my one stop shop. The recipes are delish and relevant to where I am in pregnancy. They also have lots of information on using nutrition to manage symptoms. The birth classes are great. Very short and sweet but packed with information. I’ve learned a lot from these courses that wasn’t included in other birth books I’ve read or courses I’ve taken. Also the exercises offered range in time, intensity, target area, and help achieve multiple goals (pelvic floor strengthening AND overall stretching, for example). One very tiny critique about the workouts is that I’d like if there was some music in the background but that’s my only “negative” feedback. Lastly, I like how the app is set up by topic and helps you track your progress daily on your engagement with those topics. It’s a nice way to cross off a list, which is motivating! So glad I found this app!

Best pregnancy and postpartum workout app

I found a lot of joy in squeezing Juna workouts into my life. As a new mom so much of you is put to the side to care for your new little baby and this app really helped me feel a bit more like myself. I love doing something for me, being healthy, and eating nutritious food. I love that it is an app made for women by women and that the workouts are created by a physical therapist who keeps in mind conditions like diastasis recti. I also really enjoy the positive notes week by week to encourage moms postpartum and the yummy and simple recipes. It’s all-around a fantastic app and I really love it.
