Functional and very useful gym log app

There are many “fitness apps” I have tried in the apple store that waste your time uneasy user interface with ads pushing for subscription or only having exercises for their customized workouts. I like this app for ability to easily set up my workout routines, being to select all the exercises I can do. It helps log progression and you can see your previous reps and sets. There is automated timer for rest times after you log each time. Since workout routines are saved, I can easily go back to a workout I did last week. Three words for this app: functional, friendly, and perfect

Nice App

There are a lot of Apps out there that offer all kinds of bells and whistles, this one does too. But what I have found that separates the this App from the others is that I was easily able to set up my own routine based on my level and what my gym has to offer. I am returning to the gym after years of “not going” so I wanted to take it out easy and use the timed circuit routine set up. I was able to customize routine, put in the appropriate names of the exercises, put in the weight and reps and add a note letting me know next time if I need to go up, down, or if the weight is just right. As I put in today’s numbers for an exercise I can see the results of the last time I was there.I will be using this App for awhile, that is for sure.

Outstanding strength training app

This is one of the best strength training apps on the App Store! I use this app religiously. I have tried several other apps, including those from main stream publishers, and this app by far blows the others out of the water. Set your own work outs and take command of your fitness and health with this application. I would scream it from the rooftops if I thought it could help others achieve their goals: this is the best app for strength training on the App Store!

Really disappointed I paid for the premium

I went ahead and purchased the upgrade before using the app because I was trying to build a routine and wanted access to more exercises. Entering anything into the app is cumbersome , though and not something you want to stop and do in the middle of an exercise, especially if you’re tracking more than one person. I’ve tried using the watch app and after getting home I learned that nothing was recorded to the app. Also there is a start and end button for your workout which sounds simple but can get confusing. Once I end a workout for a given day I shouldn’t be able to restart it again without some sort of “Hey, you’ve already done this” kind of message. It sounds trivial but I’ve noticed I’ve inadvertently hit the Resume after ending a session only to find the timers are running in the background until I check it again. It throws off all of the timing for your workout if you go to review them and is just unfortunate design. Either way, there’s a decent list of exercises and the $10 is sunk cost so I guess I can reference it if I don’t know how to do something and need static sketch to show me how. Still searching for the right App.

Amazing App!!

One of the best lifting apps I have used! Helps track everything I need. Very easy to use and very useful. So many exercises and already made workout plans that help every lifter from beginner to pro. Would like if there was an option to take a picture of yourself every time a new weight was recorded to visually see progress. Also, a manual for how the Apple Watch app works would be helpful as well. An ability to control music easier from the Apple Watch while using the app can make workouts smoother.

Fully featured, and just works!

Gymlog looks plain compared to Fitlist or Smartgym, but don't let that fool you - it's the real deal. I've purchased all three apps and Gymlog is the only one of the three that has the features and stability I need. My only complaint is that it can be a little slow on my Apple Watch, but that could be the fault of my Series 2, not the app. All in all, great all. Some minor quibbles (I wish it handled super sets a little more elegantly) but still the best strength training app I've found.

Honestly best gym log app ever

I honestly don’t understand how other apps that charges outrageous prices could be doing so much better than this app. Honestly you could do all you need to do with this app without even paying the one time fee of 4.99 but I still paid it just to help out the app developers! I usually never write reviews but I felt like I really should help them out. Just a few awesome benefits of this app is not only just an easy to use interface but being able to customize colors, workouts, and also have a great Apple Watch app. I just love being able to get all the benefits I want without having to pay outrageous prices.

Rock solid and great privacy

I’ve used it for years and simply never had a problem with it. I appreciate all of the helpful features, especially that there is no fee to use it beyond the cheap app cost and that I can export my workout progress. Really like that when I’m on an exercise in my workout it displays history of reps and weight I’ve lifted in the past for that exercise. I especially like that no user data is collected. Most other similar apps have monthly fees and collect and share personal data.

The best workout assistant I’ve found so far!

What matters to me with an app like this, for how I work out now, it has to have an Apple Watch app, sync with an iPad version, and offer a good selection of dumbbell workouts. The Watch app is great cause it has built in rest times and alerts you to when they’re up. One less thing I have to think about. Syncing with an iPad app where I can get a better lay of the land re me workout plan is great. If I had a wish for improvement it would be a simple quick animation on the Watch app for form for each exercise like a few other apps offer.

Exactly the weight lifting log I was looking for

This app was exactly what I was looking for. The navigation is well thought out and it has everything I need and nothing I don’t. I especially like the timer that starts after every entry instead of having to start the timer manually like in other apps. And the summary at the end that shows your stats for that workout. Plus no crazy monthly fee. Thanks for a great app.One bit of feedback for the developers. When you open the notes for an exercise and click the description, the keyboard pops up and you can not exit the keyboard. Then there is no way to exit the exercise info. As the button is blocked by the keyboard. You have to restart the whole app. A bummer if you are in the middle of a workout like I was.
