Wooow!

What an AWESOME app! Finally someone creates an app that in it's ”free” option, makes you smile. The subscription has some great features that you would use if you have multiple accounts that need cleaning. I cleaned 90,000 old emails in one day, that have been sitting in my Gmail account for over 10 years, and this app made it easy and fun to do as I was able to sort the old emails by ”sender” ”date” ”subject” or ”message”. Imagine being able to delete over 300 emails from the same spam sender with the click of a button! NOW imagine you can multi select multiple spam ”senders” who sent you hundreds of emails, and then being able to delete them all in one click! Thank You for an awesome app that will forever sit on every phone I use... Indefinitely!

Slow to load emails

I’m always open to trying new email apps as I’m constantly looking for new ways to organize emails, get rid of subscriptions, and other organizational benefits we’re all trying to achieve. As a baseline, I compare my experience with a new app to the things I like or dislike from previous experiences using apps that fall in the same category. I consistently ran into issues with this email client where the emails were very slow to load. By comparison, those emails immediately show up on my other applications using the same internet connection (wifi and/or cellular). I’m also the type of person to engage the developers to ensure they have the best feedback. In this instance the customer care rep indicated they’ve received no other feedback like mine since this version launched and suggested I reboot my phone. Again, my baseline is a phone that may or may not need a reboot — but other email apps work fine under the same conditions. But to satisfy the team, reboot completed and I’m still having problems loading emails. So, I’m not looking to argue or debate the issue and I’m definitely not going to keep using this app as I believe it needs more work. I would have given the app three stars but my interaction with the care team pulled it down to two stars.

A dream come true.

I’m a person with about 10 email addresses, and a chronic email hoarder and subscriber — a bad combo. I just never think I’m ever 100% done with an email, and will need some info from it again at some point in the future. Not true. But now I have accounts with like thousands of emails (maybe around 20k-80k or so) per inbox. If these emails were real, actual mail, I’d be buried in mail. I’m like Maria, how do you solve a problem like me?Chuck has provided an effortless solution to help me EASILY delete my hoarded emails. It is actually the perfect solution for people with email attachment (like a different kind of email attachment) like me. I’ll probably need a couple of days because I have so many email accounts, but now the task doesn’t feel Impossible. if I had stuck with Gmail’s app, I would’ve just kept all my trash emails forever. Thank you Chuck!

Extremely slow

3 stars for the simple fact that regardless of how slow the app is working, it’s still deleting emails faster than I ever could. But, that doesn’t mean there isn’t work to be done. I’m in the process of clearing out my inbox of about 70,000 emails accumulated over the past 10+ years. I’m having trouble figuring out that the heck the app is doing most of the time, because it’s come and go when it comes to syncing. In settings, the “pending actions” only knocks about 1 off the queue every 12 hours. Meanwhile if there’s anything in that queue, no more emails are being loaded for me to delete. It also seems like it doesn’t work in the background, because I’ll put my phone down for an hour or two and come back to check on the progress and the pending actions and synced emails are exactly where they were before. That being said, I’ve also tried turning off my screen shut off so that the app is open and showing during a nap or something, and that hasn’t made a difference either. I’ll add that I have had the same experience regardless of network connection, have tried 3 different WiFi networks and regular cell service, no diff. I can’t find a rhyme or reason. Every now and then I open it and I’m surprised to see the pending queue was taken care of and emails are syncing again. But that has been just a couple times a day.

Even the free version is totally worth it!

My inbox had reached a critical mass, and which became even more apparent when the pandemic hit and brought with it an email from any company who’s ever had my email address for any reason to notify me about their plans during this “unprecedented time.” I went from an already ridiculous 100+ emails a day to over 300. I used the free version of Chuck on both my email addresses, one by one, and was able to easily find and save older important messages, and then delete over 75,000 irrelevant emails collected over 10 years. The entire process, with even just the free version, took about 2 hours. The best part was the unsubscribe feature- I have tried multiple ways to unsubscribe from some lists and still receive daily emails. No longer! 1-2 companies managed to slip through the cracks, and those are easy addressed at that manageable number, but that’s nothing compared to the hundreds of lists I was successfully unsubscribe from literally the same day I used the app. Like flipping a switch. As more and more of our lives are relying on digital methods of communication, I’m so grateful to have been able to hit the reset button on my email account and get a clean slate!

Cleaned up 6000+ emails

Chuck, you’re doing something right. You’ve been my buddy this quarantine season. Over the years my email has turned into this unmanageable rats nest of subscriptions, to the point where I couldn’t find any of the things I really needed and was averse to even opening my email. This would sometimes make people angry, when I never got back to them. Something had to be done.I had tried a couple other email apps, and they didn’t quite work out they way I’d hoped. But you’ve got something special. Also I’ve had enough time to keep deleting shot while I’m home all day. But I definitely would not have made it through 6000+ unread emails without you. And I appreciate that. And I hope with your help I’ll actually keep up with my email and not get lost in the swamp again.Stay safe!

Great App!

This app is amazing! I finally have a way to get through the insane amount of emails I have in my inbox. I would definitely rate it 5 stars, if it weren't for the fact that the "Chill" function is suddenly buggy. While it worked flawlessly in the past, it appears that the app no longer has the ability to create the sub-labels needed in Gmail to chill emails for a specific amount of time. When I "chill" an email, it will disappear from the app screen for a while & then reappear a few minutes later in the inbox. Upon checking my account, I found that they are never actually leaving the inbox. I have uninstalled the app, removed the account, etc, but nothing has worked. However, if I create the necessary sub-folders myself, Chuck will move the emails to those folders. Please fix this issue, & I will update my review to 5-stars!Also, please add the ability to go through emails in specific labels. I have thousands of emails stashed in labels, taking up space.*Update* - The issue I was having with the Chill function was fixed. Thank you so much for this amazing app!

This app changed my life!

I’ve accumulated so many email accounts over the years that sometimes I can’t keep track of them all in a timely fashion. Usually these accounts accumulate after the one I am using becomes an unmanageable spam magnet. Some of these accounts I’ve totally given up on. Others, I keep around for a number of reasons. I’ve been at storage limits without any easy way to clean these accounts too many times to count. In comes Chuck... I can’t even begin to thank the people at Chuck for creating this app. Chuck solved my storage problem with the ease and simplicity of single digit addition and has helped me get a handle on my spam problem. If you have ever had this problem, you need Chuck. I am a little disappointed that Chuck now requires a subscription to use with multiple accounts at a time. When I started using Chuck it was totally free. I’ve never had much money and right now spending on in-app purchases is absolutely out of the question. But overall if you have the money, by all means, this is where you should spend it. The need to pay for a subscription is my one and only complaint, but I understand. Try Chuck! Pay for pro if you need it and can do it. But I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed. There truly is no app like Chuck. Try it. You’ll like it. I did.

Expect More From a Paid Email Client

I’ve been paying for Chuck for a couple years since it met my needs in a couple areas such as the unified inbox for 2 accounts, filtering and cleanup options. However, the annoyances now outweigh the positive aspects of this email client. The search feature is very annoying because it’s necessary to search each folder individually. It will not search all folders for a search term. The individual email viewing area is too small, even with my iPad Air. The new email load times are annoyingly slow. Those are 3 examples. In the past couple years the advances made in another iOS email client which is free to use make it superior to the paid version of Chuck. I will not be renewing my Chuck subscription after it’s current term.In reply to the developer: I’ve been using Chuck or 2 years and have never seen a way to increase the viewing pane window. Also, i find it very difficult to believe that Chuck processes incoming mail faster than any other email client. It’s not been my experience at all.

terrible

Purposely added only one email acct to try this out and even then I could never find my mail! The inbox lists it by subject without regard to the date, leaving me with no clue what me newest messages are making it impossible to find anything without a specific search for it. But even then the search returns results bot in chron order and not even landing your exact match at the top of the list. I am mystified that this app is rated highly, it is utterly unusable and actually forced me to drive home to my desktop once to find a recent email and another time, yesterday, I had to pay UPS store computer rental to pull up an email on gmail’s website because it didn’t show up in results at all. Totally frustrating waste of time and now also money since UPS Store charged me not only for that computer time but also another $5 for the emailed pdf I send them to print that had a link to the pdf with no actual attached pdf. $11 to pull up a two page pdf in an email i sent to myself two days ago. STUPID.
