Service is good/App is horrible

This review is for the app, not the service. The concept of being able to track when you take your supplement packs is good, but it is executed very poorly. It does not allow you to retroactively log days when you have taken your supplements. This is silly because the point of a tracker is to keep track of how often you remember to take your supplements, not how often you remember to tap a button on your phone. It is also counterproductive, because it is discouraging when it gives you a little sad face and tells you you have to start your streak over, when really you have been taking them all along. This also means that the information that is supposed to pop up when you have taken the supplements for a certain number of days is irrelevant because it pops up on day 3 when you are really on day 7. I have also tried the ‘set a reminder’ feature so that I remember to go tap a button on my phone, but I have never received a reminder. This app is honestly a little infuriating. Most if not all of the problems with this app would be solved with the addition of retroactive logging capability.

Only one flaw so far

I’m so happy I decided to give Care Of a try. I was skeptical at first, a relatively new and unknown company sending me pills made up of items I’ve never heard of. In the end, however, it was worth the risk. I really do feel better on a daily basis and I just love the individual packets. Especially the facts and challenges on them. I look forward to reading them daily. No more rattling pill bottles everyday. The app is alright, nothing fantastic. I’ve gotten a few of the goals. Now the flaw. And it’s a HUGE one. My monthly charges were taken automatically taken from my account on 6/14. Repeat, 6/14. Here it is the 21st and I just received a shipping confirmation today. I have been out of vitamins for 2-3 days now. Waiting. And waiting. This is the second time I’ve run out before the new round arrives and it’s very frustrating. That’s the only reason this isn’t a 5 star review. The timing of the shipments, at least for me, is something awful. Other than that, happy customer.

Good concept. Clunky app and unreliable in reality

I love the idea of Care/Of. I like that the quiz pointed me to some supplements that I hadn’t considered before that have actually helped with my concerns. However, there are some definite issues. First, this app is super clunky and difficult to navigate. Old subscriptions still show up even if you’ve cancelled them, you can’t back date vitamin tracking, it takes several clicks just to find what’s coming in my next order. One of my least favorite apps on my phone to use. Second, they’ve had a lot of supply issues since the pandemic that they haven’t sorted out. First my orders came in bottles for a couple months (Which was fine. I know they were still adjusting to new demand and supply chain constraints). Now I’ve had several months where certain supplements are just out of stock and not sent with my box - even though they’re not new additions to my box but something I’ve been getting for 6+ months at this point. This in particular defeats the purpose of care/of for me. It’s been over a year since the pandemic started and they’re still blaming things on supply chain and staffing issues. It’s not ok and I’m seriously considering stopping my subscription once I figure out alternatives.

One star.

i like everything except for the fact i ordered my stuff on 10/16 and was supposed to be delivered today, 10/24. i never received an email regarding my order except for the first one showing me my order was placed.. no email telling me anything at all, where is my order? who knows. i looked on the app and i check orderss and the only current one i see is a re schedule the next month of my next months items.. i don’t need next months items, i need my stuff that was supposed to be here today! and to top that off i look under the order and the one from 10/16 still says processing and that they’d email me when it was shipped.. not one thing.. i talk to their live chat support but they make you wake a day before you get any info, that was yesterday and still no info, still lost and have no idea where to go with any of this.. so if an app can manage to ruin my whole experience just with the way the MAIN system works, i can’t give any more stars then 1/5. i will update you if this changes but as of right now i’m not happy at all with their services... really mad actually.

Vitamins are good, the app is just sales

I am new to Care/of. I just started my subscription so I have lots of questions. The app provides little to no answers. It seems more oriented towards getting you to buy more. For example, I want to better understand what was sent to me, say RDA info, or am missing anything from my old multi. Nothing like that info. If I go to “my plan” it will show the vitamins I am getting but the orientation is to get you to buy more. No information about the vitamins themselves. There is no reference to why they sent me electrolytes (yes I said I need them) but they only sent me a few packs. Am I supposed to spread them out? Take them once a week? Or on the second day (not the first or prior to starting) I saw a quick note saying I should not take calcium and iron in the same sitting. I can’t find that note to review it. Maybe that is important information to have more prominent??These are expensive vitamins. For that premium I feel I should be getting both quality and information/customization I am not getting elsewhere. I can get good quality multi vitamins at the local co-op so they need to provide the latter to make it worthwhile They are not, at least not through this app. It is very disappointing. I will take the vitamins I have purchased but will likely cancel the subscription.

Skeptical at first. Oh, try the blueberry gut packs!

I avoided this offer forever. I had bought my own vitamins and weekly would divide them into a case. I did my best to research before I bought but that was it. When I finally tried it I was happy with the questions asked, the recommended options and the option to remove or add stuff. After two months I got a new recommendation and I swapped out something that I felt was redundant. I really feel a difference (e.g. less lethargic mid day, brighter/even skin etc.) and having the packs has made travel easy- even working from home- I just grab it and head to my office. The app reminders are helpful and I even earned enough points to get free stuff and take $10 off an order.I ordered the gut packets and OMG! The taste is awesome, it’s almost silky in texture and it helps if you feel a little full, a little off or have heartburn. I was taking tums nightly and now with vitamins and gut packs I’m just not needing them. I went from using gut packs daily to maybe twice a week. My husband LOVES them too.I have been very happy with Care/of.

BEWARE!

*update: I finally got through to someone who could help me but the customer service was still trash. But the major problem is the website layout. I still can’t see where my order is being shipped or how much taxes are being charged. This is ridiculous. This is a WARNING to all first time users. Care/of whole system is not customer friendly. They don’t tell you how much tax is being charged on your order until AFTER they charge your card. So if your total says $40 its really going to be $44. You can’t see on your order where they ship your package not even if you click on “track my order”. That means that if u update your address its a good possibility it will be still sent to the old address. That’s what happened to me. Now I have to go walk 2 miles just to get my package being held at the post office. If they had updated their website so I could have seen where my package was going this could have been prevented. I could have contacted support in time to change it. But instead I had no idea where my package was being sent.

Love the vitamins- hate the tracking bugs

We really need the ability maybe set our waking hours, as in hours we’re awake. I don’t want to track it too early, I like tracking when I take my nighttime vitamin. (There’s dopamine from tracking when I take it) There should be some grace for those of us that sometimes try to track at midnight. I’ve never redeemed any of my carrots so it’s not about that. I swear sometimes when I do actually get my track in before midnight, sometimes the next day still won’t take as another dot. Like today! It’s almost 11pm and it’s not letting me add for today. After years, apparently my longest streak is only 17 days even though that’s not accurate with how I’ve taken my vitamin. I do get that some people need incentives but I just want a reasonable way to track. My vitamin helps me sleep and helps prevent migraines- just wish the app would be a bit better with the ending time of the day or at least show us the exact day we tracked instead of the number if dots changing. Maybe I’m just used to my fitness tracker app’s calendar being easier to navigate. Sure- the carrot system, changing to differentiate numbers to track may be a unique concept but maybe give us a calendar so we can actually see what days we took it, if we missed a day. So much added anxiety that could be avoided with days of the week or dates stamped to our tracking.

love the vitamins, the app is frustrating

along with other reviews, the inability to retroactively note that you took your vitamins for the previous day is frustrating; I understand there is an issue that this might allow users to “cheat” to get more carrots and thus more rewards but it is a way to keep myself accountable and track when I take my vitamins, not just when I remember to log in to the app because sometimes I take them when my phone isn’t next to me or accessible, causing me to forget to track sometimes. Also sometimes I will have a three day track to get carrots but it sometimes either changes it to seven right when I think I’m about to get a carrot points, so that’s disappointing. Or it will restart me to 0 even though I have been tracking and taking my vitamins consistently and was half way there for example. I love the concept of this app and the ability to makes changes to or review your plan so easily but definitely improvements to be made and glitches to work out.

Still needs work

I got powder with my vitamins in my first round and tried to like it but I just don’t like protein powder. In the app when you try to stop or cancel the powder, it looked like I was cancelling everything. I like the vitamins so I just paused my powder instead of cancelling it. Just yesterday, I guess my powder was unpaused and it just ordered me more?? I went to the app and online and was unable to cancel it even though it wasn’t shipped yet. So now I’ll have even more powder I won’t use. The UI is confusing, and not user friendly. I bounce around everywhere in the app trying to figure out how to see orders, pause, cancel, but have strange messages that make it seem like I’m cancelling everything. I texted support yesterday but still haven’t had a response and now the powder has been shipped. I don’t see why we can’t stop shipping or cancel an order if we didn’t need it. I don’t like the auto order, at least have me push an approve button or something. Makes me want to use a different vitamin provider altogether
