Kinda fun

Sometimes things take awhile to work even after doing it many times the same thing (bugs? Or I'm not doing them right?!) but other than that it's kinda fun when I'm not stuck. So exciting when it does work haahah oh but I would take out the jigsaw puzzle (or at least cheat for it)--too hard.

Cant Go Back to Spain

I got the priest to polish the goblet and compared it to one of the tombs: the hint tells me to go to the map, choose the big red arrow and go back to Spain. However all the country maps are grey and the only flag I can interact with is Paris. I have tried multiple times. Quit the game and restored to my last saved game, but the map only permits me to go to Paris.

THANK YOU for updating!!! 😀😀😀

*** Updated review:Awesome, awesome, awesome. Thank you so much for listening, and releasing an update so quickly!!! The storyline, gameplay, voice talent, graphics, and music are so well done and beautifully interwoven... I can’t wait to start playing the next chapter! Thanks again developers!*** Previous review:I just purchased the BrokenSword bundle, and everything was amazing!... until I installed the standard iOS 13.1.1 update, and now for some reason my gameplay screen is very small, and appears in the upper left-hand corner of my LCD display. It’s very hard to see anything, and nearly impossible to click. I’m extremely sad, because I’m only in the first few stages of BS1, and now I can’t progress. Please, Developers, send help soon!!!...Other than that, obviously, the game is fantastic.** I’ve also tried restarting the game, restarting my iPhone, and deleting & reinstalling the app entirely. Sadly, no success... it really needs an update. Oddly, it seems BS2’s gameplay is just fine! but — since I’d rather start with the first one — I’m now just waiting... :’-(

Chess game won’t work/no app support/REFUND

I can’t drag the chess pieces to their correct holes. The game will reveal the patterns of pieces and holes, but won’t allow me to drag them. I’ve tried multiple different tactics, quitting/saving, etc with no luck. Please help. My review will be revised once I am able to continue playing. Thanks in advanceAfter trying to contact app support and the devs with no success, I WANT A REFUND. Game is unplayable

Beautiful adventure game

This is a beautiful game set primarily in Paris. Characters have amusing French traits and idiosyncrasies. It feels like a graphic novel detective story. The puzzles include finding objects, interviewing people, and tricking people into doing what you need them to do.I am halfway through the second game, The Smoking Mirror, and it is also excellent..

Really frustrated with controls

Controls on iOS are not smooth or responsive at all. I have lumbered my way through this game and now am at the chess puzzle. I know how to solve it but the dragging mechanism is not remotely responding. It’s very frustrating because I think this game is very enjoyable and would be 5 stars otherwise. For $4.99 o would expect much better.

Butchered the game, but playable

I hate that they removed the gorgeous cutscenes—especially the opening one. It does not improve the game. The added scenes with Nico are fine( I like her of course). It’s still fun to play, but lacking. I still had fun, but object interactions are extremely frustrating and I’m constantly hunting around for the right pixels to add object x to object y. It’s worth $5 easily just for the nostalgia. I’ve played all of these games and love them thanks to the voice acting and humor. I don’t need the revamped character portraits when they’re talking and I really wish that they left the cutscenes alone. I’m hoping the BS2 does not have the cutscenes deleted.5 stars for the original game(I removed 2due to deleting the animations also removing blood lol, it’s not a children’s game). I love questioning the endless characters and showing them every object in my inventory and how funny their personalities are. People complaining about it don’t understand point and click adventure games and why we love them.

Phenomenal

Felt like a I was playing a 70's or 80's adventure cartoon movie with the way the audio sounded and the cartoon's art style looks like something from "The Hobbit" era. Many hours of gameplay involved. I am blown away. I wish part 3 and 4 were also added to iOS. Getting part 2 and 5 now.

Something Fresh

July 2019Rather than the same puzzles as other point/click games, Broken Sword uses logic to sneak around. There are a few puzzles, but those are not the common ones that I’ve seen. This is one of my favorites; right up there with Thimbleweed Park.I had a bit of trouble with clicking on some touch points, however I’m on iPhone 6s, so that’s on me. It worked best if I flicked my finger downward over the spots (ie: inventory bag). Pros: Storyline, voice acting, puzzles, graphics, music, hint system, mechanics.Cons: Hoping in an update there will be an option to make the characters walk faster.

One of the best adventure games of all time

The Broken Sword adventure games rank among the best in the genre, and compare favorably to favorites such as Sierra's King's Quest or LucasArts' Monkey Island series. The iOS version is beautifully remastered for mobile devices and fully voiced. A must have for adventure game fans and anyone who appreciates an artfully-told story.
