(UPDATE: Fixed!) Was fine until last update!?

UPDATE: Issue fixed! It’s not a perfect app (wish there was a native iPad version and connectivity is wanting at times), but I’m quite happy with it!Have to give only 2 stars right now! This last update really buggered it up! Used to be able to switch devices your headphones are connected to, through the app, in the connection history section. Not any more!? I’ve reset headphones, re-paired devices, re-installed the app. Would be nice to see this fixed! OH and the support function within the app, sends you to a webpage that doesn’t work!? What’s up with that?!?

I am disappointed.

I have the PX7 and while I enjoy the tonal quality - decent warmth and colors - I am disappointed in the software: 1 - I can stream my music from the iphone 12pro (getting them paired can be a real struggle) but the PX7 will not connect with the app so I can find out what my battery level is. I had drops while listening to music (I did not have the problem with my Bose Quiet Comfort II on the same tune). I sent the PX7 back, got a refurb pair back and I still can’t get battery level. When I turn on the Bose it immediately tells me my battery charge level - I don’t have to wait until the headphones die (PX7) to know I have to recharge. Simple stuff - hard for BW. While I like the tonal qualities as compared to the Bose I’d like the BW app to have an equalizer so I can adjust for my ear and I’d really like to push more volume - the PX7 do not amplify like the Bose. I was considering a purchase of the new BW earbuds but they have a 4 hour battery charge life and if the BW app can’t tell me when I’m out of juice than it’s not worth the $400. Candidly, the issues I have mentioned are well known and have been posted on several forums so I’m not sure why there has not been more effort to improve performance i.e. software updates. Simple software issues make BW so frustrating - the opposite of what you want when slipping the headphones on. Shame on BW for not tuning into customer feedback. Buy something else!

T17 setup a pain but worth it

Setup was not out-of-box easy, as it's been for other brands I've tried. The trick that finally worked was pressing the tiny bluetooth-setup button inside the case for 1.5 seconds, until the green light on the front of the case turned blinking blue. (At one point early in the frustrating process, the iPad bluetooth settings showed that the buds were connected, but they weren't. Audio was still coming out of the iPad speakers.)But the frustration was worth it. The sound is the most satisfactory of the four brands I tried to get here (with the possible exception of the Apple Air Pods Pro, which I cannot use now because of a skin allergy caused by the material in the tips, and of the B&O EQs, which sound very good but fall out easily and whose noise cancellation isn't up to par for me) and the buds fit snugly and, I hope, securely. My long search for buds with a very good sound, very good noise cancellation, and a secure fit is finally at an end. Thank you, Bowers & Wilkins!

Hard decision & this app was deciding factor

Update 1: Shoutout to B&W for being so active in the app review process. I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates it when a dev takes the time to at least comment on a review. It appears I’m not alone and the disappointment in the lack of an EQ is rather widespread. It’s not a reason to totally trash an otherwise perfectly functioning app while also, intentionally or unintentionally, leading others to believe the same. Here’s hoping B&W actually has an update in the works to address my one and only major disappointment!Dang it, dang it, dang it B&W! Deciding between the PX7 and Momentum 3 was really difficult but I chose Sennheiser. Why? Because their app has an EQ! The untweakable sound profile of the PX7, while great, just does not work well with every genre. Not being able to use an EQ is frustrating because, for me, I definitely would’ve stuck with the PX7. I loved everything about them and an EQ would’ve made them boss. Ugh

Great sounding headphones - unacceptable, junk app

The headphones are great: better than the Bose and Sennheiser I have and used before. But the app is an embarrassment: it can never quite connect (even though my phone can luckily connect to the headphones via settings, bypassing the app). After repeated installs and uninstalls, making my phone forget the device and reconnect, etc. I give up. No, I do not plan to reboot my device every time I want to listen to music, nor is it necessary with any of the other brands I have used. This is a waste of time. Even when I was able to connect, there is hardly any reason to: the app (unlike Sennheiser that has a graphic equalizer, different music profile settings, incl. adding effects such as reverb) this app offers no advanced features, and little over the basic settings 80% of which can be changed on the headphones directly by using buttons. I listen to different types of content (podcasts, classical, pop/alt) and having slightly different sound profile settings would be helpful (Sennheiser can do that). With its premium price tag, perhaps it’s time for me to switch to Sony or Apple who have great headsets with apps that actually work. The extremely low star rating (especially for what purports to be a premium brand) is a good indication that I’m unfortunately not an outlier or an exception with these observations.

Excellent/ app request

To whom it may concern, first I would like to inform you that the PI7 true wireless headphone is my first product that I have purchased from your prestigious company. I was elated when I actually paired them to my iPhone. They sound excellent and I am extremely happy to have made this purchase. However, I believe if you added an equalizer to your app, I believe that would enhance the sound experience even further. I am requesting your presenting my request to your R&D team. I greatly appreciate if at least they would consider it in a future update. Thank you very much , smithg652

Passthru mode won’t stay on

Update to my previous comment: I’ve also found that when I’m in noise canceling/passthru mode and receive a call, passthru mode shuts off, and I cannot turn it back on without opening the app (which is inconvenient and impractical when dealing with a sudden phone call). The upshot is that I’m unable to hear my own voice on the call.I bought these headphones for working from home, but since I also have to take client calls, this is a dealbreaker for me. I’ve removed another star and will (sadly) be returning the headphones.***Everybody else and their sister has said so already, but this app (and my PX7 headphones) needs an EQ. Without one, I’m on the fence about these ‘phones, and may return them. They sound fantastic, very similar to my beloved P7W’s. But in the PX7, that luscious deep bass is overdone a little, blooms more and carries less texture, and can overpower the midrange (possibly because they clamp too tightly…Could stand to leak a little bass). This is the problem EQ must solve. The responsive developers have reverted to other commenters and said, essentially, “do the EQ on your phone.” This isn’t practical for two reasons: 1. EQ is buried in the iPhone settings screen, and isn’t convenient to turn on and off, particularly if one uses multiple output devices interchangeably 2. EQ more quickly depletes iPhone’s already-feeble battery. Please save this otherwise excellent pair of headphones and add an EQ to the app.

Does what it’s supposed to

Not sure why the negative comments here. Downloaded the app, turned on the headphones and they connected in less the 30 seconds. Go to Bluetooth in your phone and select the headphones. As simple as that. Battery indicator is another negative comment I saw here, which doesn’t seem to be an issue, it’s right at the top of the app. Simple and to the point app. I can understand the lack of eq, but since I am not doing studio recording it doesn’t bother me that much. It would have helped, and I really do find it a bit strange the the developers did not include it at this price point. The headphones sound amazing tho. It was a choice between the px7 and wx1000m4’s. So far impressed with the px7’s but I’ll buy the m4’s as a comparison. Will update the review.

Could be perfect…but software

I agree with nearly every review I’ve read on here. The software needs updated. You have a great product so why not go the extra mile and update the software to keep up with the competition. First, you need an equalizer period. This is a must and sad it wasn’t on the original release. Secondly, I wish there was a battery percentage for the case (if this is even possible). Lastly, there needs to be a way to disable or adjust the sensitivity of the touch controls. When I go outside and it’s windy my PI5 earbuds start going haywire. The earbuds think I’m repeatedly touching them about 5 times a second. The music starts and stops over and over. Then all the features (sound pass through, noise canceling, etc) turn off and on. It doesn’t stop until I reset them by placing them in the case. This is annoying to say the least. Let me disable them or adjust the sensitivity at least. Like I said in the beginning, you have a great product so please give your software/firmware some much needed updates and you’ll be in good shape.

What is the point of this?

I’ve had my headphones for a short amount of time, only about a week. Initial sessions listening to them sound very promising. However I’m not quite sure what the point of this app is. The Bluetooth utility for Windows is also equally terrible. Seems you have to reconnect the iPhone app every time you pull off the screen. I try to update my firmware and it says the headphones are not charged enough, yet shows that they are charged 100% within the same screen on the app which is quite hilarious. Hoping that my experience with the headphones themselves far exceed my impressions of their IOS / Windows apps. Also, it kind of reflects how bad the app is when you can’t come up with a better name than “Headphones” for the app. C’mon Man!
