Short and sweet
Got recommended this game by my partner as a little relaxation puzzler with nice music and simple challenges. What I got was that and more, with levels being repeatable for that perfect three star rating and a pleasing art style to boot. I hear everyone else’s criticisms about the timed levels, but because of the ability to replay as many times as you want, they proved less of a hassle than I thought they would be. Tip for those getting in: try to make a closed loop as soon as the level loads in, then work on getting the rest of the route set up so when you move two or three pieces the whole thing falls into place. 9.5/10, could use some tweaking on the loading transitions so the level timer doesn’t start counting down before you can even see the puzzle.

Love this puzzler! I wish there was an option to turn off the timed levels. It’s frustrating bc I can’t think that quickly and I want to progress. J love the challenge of the puzzle, but giving the timer as optional is more accessible to more people. I’m about to throw my phone out the window playing a timed level. I feel so strongly about this, that I Karen’d out and wrote this review.
Best use of ads I’ve ever seen
This game is competent and smooth. Simple gameplay with progressively less simple levels. The learning curve starts slow and starts to pick up around world 4 of 12.One thing I must point out are the ads. This is the best use of ads I’ve ever seen in a FTP game, ever. They only last 5 seconds long each, the X actually just closes the ad and doesn’t make you bounce back and forth between tapping the X and Done 3 times before it closes. They even warn you with “Commercial Break” appearing in between levels.The ads themselves tend to be small and almost integrated with the app. The first time I saw a full-screen ad it was almost jarring.I like flow puzzles like this one, and it’s fine. A little basic and simple but I’m only 1/3rd of the way through. It’s calming and well made. The art style is dope, the colors are warm pastels which is interesting without being obtrusive. The music is decent, if a little too ambient for me.Gameplay basically falls into two categories; numbers of moves, and water wasted.Some levels judge you on how many moves you make, others don’t care about moves, but water spilt from unconnected waterways. It’s an interesting way to add challenges. One is literally just a time trial but animated to feel like you’re actually losing water. It’s great! Do recommend!
Timer Problems
The timer KILLS this game. While it has all the makings of a relaxing puzzler, the timer is set ridiculously short for most of the levels, and one cannot process what one has learned before time is up. (The short time often leads to frantic random piece flipping in desperation before the time runs out.) Beyond adjusting the insanely short timers, I would recommend a mode that eliminates timers altogether – a “Zen” mode like many games have for players who do not want the frustration of playing against a clock. Those adjustments would make this a five-star game.

I really like this game. It’s a sweet little thing and you can lose yourself in it easily. It’s great for relaxation. You can play a quick round to de-stress, and it helps so much. The music is relaxing but not over the top, and I think that just adds to the overall appeal of the game. It’s not too difficult, and the puzzles are pleasing and rather eccentric compared to other games I’ve downloaded. I also like the ‘pay what you want’ feature for the ads, I think it just adds awareness and makes the game more human. All In all, this is a wonderful app to play in your spare time, and i have really enjoyed it.
Fun puzzler despite annoying timer
At first glance this game brings to mind Monument Valley: similar isometric view of architectural paths to unravel, rendered in a relaxing pastel palette, accompanied by a dreamy, ethereal soundtrack. Unlike that game, Aquavius’ geometry and physics are straightforward, while its approach to pathfinding and puzzle-solving is considerably less relaxed — because there’s a countdown timer ticking while you explore. On some maps you are able to route the water in a closed loop that effectively stops the timer, giving you more of an opportunity to consider options. But on many levels it is a frustrating race against time as you struggle to move segments of aquaduct into position before the clock runs down, dumping you out of the puzzle. The timer would be great as an option, but as a constant it becomes pretty annoying — especially on levels where there is just barely enough time to make the necessary moves even once you know what to do. I can’t tell you how many levels I had to re-play multiple times just because I couldn’t move the pieces in place fast enough. As is, Aquavius is an addictively fun puzzler. If turning off the timer was an option, it would also be a game one could return to for a more meditative experience: to revisit levels, explore alternative solutions, and enjoy the pleasant graphics. Soothing for the puzzle geek
Super enjoyable. There was still a good amount of strategy involved without having to think too deep so I can sit around while cooking to get a couple puzzles in. Sometimes I'd get the puzzle with just 1 or 2 moves left so applaud to the developers for that. The levels advanced nicely. Sometimes I was stuck and sometimes I'd solve in one go by sheer instinct. Redoing rounds didn't feel overwhelming either since the music is meditative.
Aquavias III
I read the rule of the game is tap on the part and connect to make the water flow. It does not said or stated it must to be done in a certain x amount of moves, however, I will suggest the design developer to re- check the tap parts design it seems on Aquavias III 4 is messing one part ? Or is an error of developer design on distant rotation? And if the rule does not stated an x number of moves another error on the software saying lose and not letting the player REALLY THINK the possibilities of moving the parts geometrically? It does close the window when I am in a middle of thinking. And why the support has to be thru Facebook? How do I know the guy is really hired by the company? Odd, it make you feel uncomfortable to see a guy showing his naked body when one to ask ONLY questions of technical issues, it does not seems credible or if the game is also credible or a scam game? Do this people has an office, does the technical support REALLY check on the audience technical questions? I just started I think I need more time to reach a decision to rate stars. Would any?
Gorgeous gameplay, unobtrusive ads
The gameplay is simple, aesthetically pleasing, and exactly as I hoped for. The music and sounds are perfect and compliment the gameplay well. The ads are gentle, short, and can be muted too. There’s no banner ads, unskippable 30 second videos, or an unspoken requirement to watch them for some reward. The game is super relaxing and I love to think about the purpose of the game while I’m playing — providing water to the town!
Just a Bit More Time Please!
When I read reviews prior to getting this game, I was rolling my eyes at those who said the game should be not be timed. Well, here I am frustrated as heck trying to beat the clock before time runs out. I’m pretty good at these kinds of games, but I have given up and am thinking of deleting Aquavias. I am just two or three moves away from beating level lV, but have remained at this level for about 3 weeks. Please extend the clock for the first several levels or give an option for untuned play please!
Description
Aquavias is a puzzle game, in which your task is to prevent drought in the city. Build aqueducts connecting reservoirs with the cities to fill grandiose buildings, such as the Amphitheater, Hanging Gardens, Temple of Claudius, Baths and many others. Creating a viable city is not an easy task — fortunately, you have aqueducts that will help you achieve these goals.
