Could be better…

I’ve played a few games and right off the bat I noticed it’s definitely got the apex feel everyone knows and (somewhat) loves. But the biggest issues for me that made me give the game 2 stars include the severe amount of bots, the horrible looting system, the glitch involving being unable to load into a game, and the frame rate being capped at 30 FPS. The looting system is incredibly bad, especially if you try playing on controller. If you have auto loot on, it literally picks up almost anything and everything. If you’re on controller, you have no way of looting unless you tap on the screen. And even when playing on touch screen, the looting is still iffy at best. The bots are probably 90% of every lobby. The bots are such a big problem that they locked the 2k/3k/3.5k/4k damage badges behind a ranking wall. You have to be plat or above to even be able to obtain them, because for the first 50 games you play, you’ll average 4K damage due to the amount bots you kill. I haven’t had much trouble with the loading/logging in glitch, but I know it is very prominent, and that is extremely game breaking. As for the frames, there’s not much more to say about that. It’s not difficult to make the cap 60 FPS, so I’m not sure why they decided to settle for 30-45. If they fix some of these mechanics and bugs I will definitely give it more stars.

Honest review

I love the game a lot but it does have its bugs. I play on controller and I play on the Xbox one controller and I have a lot of bug such as auto firing and shooting by itself without me pressing buttons. Sometimes I have problems reloading my gun I don’t know if that’s only a controller thing. Long queue times. I play a lot of third person not enough people play it and I’m stuck with first person and first person can’t play in third person I don’t know why they can’t just be merged, first person in third person should be merged with your rank sheet off to reset. I feel like the pros and cons for first person and third person each other equally the same third person has its cons and pros first person has its pros and cons. It would be nice if you were able to block people too such as cheaters. But my main issue was third person rank Q times they take way too long it’s really hard to get games and because there’s not really any bots and is only bots on casual matches it could be very boring and annoying. Also sometimes maybe it’s just my opinion you lose a lot of points in ranked when you lose and I feel like they force you to win to get points and it’s really hard when other people are as good as you if not better and I feel like they shouldn’t you shouldn’t be penalized as hard. My honest review.

Core gameplay good but needs a lot of work.

The core gameplay is great. But there are glitches and other things about the game that make it not enjoyable.First off, you would think that they worked on the sound issues that the PC and console versions have had basically since launch. You will hear random gunfights as you are walking along and nobody is there. No indications of a gunfight on your mini map but you can hear it. There are also times when you don’t hear any sound after starting a game. If you restart the game and then get back in it then the sound is there but in the meantime you are afk. There have been some times where my character will glitch out. I have gotten stuck in the most random places. Usually it happens after a slide jump. In one sense I understand glitches right after a game launches but the one inherent flaw that it has is that it dies not separate you from people using controllers. I understand their focus is getting matched up quickly but it is annoying to be playing with touching your screen and then running into some bunny hopping sweats that merc your team and take you all out in two seconds flat. Overall, I like the core gameplay but it needs work and they need to separate the controller users from those that don’t use Bluetooth accessories to help them win.

Awesome game but..

I think this game is perfectly ported over. I have some suggestions though: Reduce pistol recoil (ie: wingman,r-99smg and sentinel) and sniper recoil by a little bit. Also make semi auto do more damage especially to headshots. Make the armor and ammo more visible like a glowing effect to know which is which..I think also if you let higher ranks spawn in w/ whatever guns they would want would be better than searching like cod br and have a perk that lets you quickly be able to find rare shield and armor faster. The game runs smooth so far for me no major bugs or anything. I wish players learned to stick w/ the team but there is nothing you can really do about that. Thank you to the creators for making it possible to play this on mobile devices! Also:Fix ammo holding in magazine and fix ban time for leaving players early (I mean seriously…an hour ban that’s too much!!!)Edit:where is Olympus..you know how awesome that map would be for battle royale also if the sensitivity wasn’t so wonky then maybe I would play this game more! Also bring champs such as Ashe from the pc version and wattson..I think people know Loba was a perfect port over but I personally never got to unlock her and don’t know if I need to just yet in order to have a competitive edge on players. Other than that great mobile game!

Good game but…

Excellent game in fact, however there are major flaws. I have a few issues here. One of them being getting banned. When I’m in a ranked, the only time I leave is to cut my losses because believe it or not, even in ranked team mates drop in a completely different area, and there’s no chance they’re going to get your banner or they’re afk or even your banner is in the storm, I cut losses on move on but recently I have been banned for “malicious” actions. Second, climbing is broken. More often than not, right at the end of the climb, you fall. We can stick in corners when trying to jump onto different rocks and often it makes you float meaning you can’t do anything until you stop floating. Third, the joystick has cost me many wins, I am %100 percent certain that after using inventory or cycling weapons the joystick doesn’t work the first time you touch it and turns the tide of the battle. When I auto run and this happens, I end up continuing to run in a situation when I should stay in position through my input but these inputs are often lost. Fourth, I don’t think people that are crawling should get a visual footprint since they’re down and it’s confusing. Thank you for reading this if you made it here. Kind regards,Chris

BUGS*(5stars so you see this) really prolly 2-3

Download the game if you wanna have to wait 15 minutes + every single game the world chat will be going off and yet only 30 people show up queued. Half the time octanes jump pad sticks you in a glitch to the ground. Mirage for me lags more than any legend too you slide with him and he starts glitching sticking to the ground almost. Pathfinder uses his grapple and legit won’t go anywhere just stays frozen maybe 2 ft off the ground but same spot so you get killed. There is numerous bugs with every part of the game. Even loba over here yelling her catch phrase a million times cause someone took ammo( plus you cancel her jump drive and you loose ability to use your controller) Since the very beginning they have had a glitch if you revive you can only use half your controller that bug has been here since day one for mobile! (Also almost impossible to get in contact with their support and they make it that way on purpose) Also you can grind your legend for better perks and yet over half of them don’t actually work in game like they say that’s going for every legend too all have different perks and a lot don’t work correctly

Decent skill based game

I haven’t played many br games. I needed something new after years of the same game. This is a true skill based game and I had to learn the strategy. I took me a while to get my sensitivity right and to get used to aiming and movement. I play on a iPad over 4 years old that has seen better days. This game is really meant to be played on newer more powerful devices. I think as a result the game will age well but it the device requirements can put you at a disadvantage. On good devices the game looks great. All mobile games have ethically questionable monetization. I would really love just being able to buy individual skins as opposed to the random gambling which I am opposed to. I would recommend the battle pass and basically nothing else. My only two complaints are matchmaking and bots. Bots definitely have a place when you are learning to play, in lower ranks and pubs. However it is a detrimental in higher ranks. I do believe the number of bots in ranked was recently reduced but it was really annoying because you can’t tell the difference between a bot team and a real team. I am diamond ranked matching with low ranking gold players on my squad. These low ranking players are used to bot lobbies, take reckless foolish actions and get wiped by real players. Skill based matchmaking shouldn’t group fools running around in the open killing bots with people actually playing the game. Team work is a real challenge with random squad mates who are low ranked.

My honest take.

I’m actually having fun playing this game. I am absolute trash when it comes to the console/pc versions of the game but here I have a chance. Since the release of the console/pc game I’ve gotten about 10 wins so that tells you my experience. Here in mobile I actually win whether it be against a few bots and actual players I win nonetheless but here is where I make my complaint. It’s not about the performance or the hackers or even the lack of “no fill squads” but the reward system. Flux.. it’s all I get and when I do get something different like a skin or a tracker, it’ll be one I got and will be converted into what you might ask. That’s right! FLUX!! Please for the sake of my mental health, adjust the flux earning rate or at the very least; make it so that the crafting in this game is as affordable as the console/pc versions. If things where more affordable then I can accept the amount of flux I’ve gotten with open arms and strive to craft every available item possible. I am aware that the game is at its early stages and will see improvements over the course of it and I will be there to see it but until then I’d like to leave this on a good note. The game is really fun and I’m enjoying the experience as a whole. It has its quirks and it definitely isn’t perfect but I know and expect much needed improvements will be made so long as we give them the devs ample time and patience. P.S. My club and I really hate FLUX

IM EXCITED

the game is great, although I’ve only played for 3 days. But it seems like there’s way too many bots, to be fair though it’s only just came out. The mission system is great it really motivates u to play the game. There’s a ranking system which also is great, u can tell they put time into this. But there’s one thing I wish it had- you can go into settings and change how much is automatically picked up- but not WHAT can be picked up. It’s annoying when I don’t want a yellow shield, I want a purple one so I can level up to red. And one time I didn’t even notice until in a fight which was (I believe) a disadvantage. And why can’t I just have 60fps, I understand I have a older version of a phone but I don’t understand why I can’t just put my phone to its limits. I should be able to make the frame-rate as high as I can but the game won’t let me get past 30-45 frames because of setting limitations in apex. Also why are the training modes so hard?!! Like it’s impossible to get 3 stars in every mode. But yea glad to be in season one. But please why u gotta make the battle pass 30$ it’s a mobile game- ur settle at just 20$. Enough complaining from me. One more thing- YOU ADDED GYROSCOPE AND IM SO HAPPY FOR IT APEX- ahem. Anyways thanks for this coming out, there’s gonna be more hours on this game then there is in the actual game. You get a 4 star, it’ll probably change higher or lower overtime depending on what happens to the game. =]

Apex Mobile SURPRISES

Logging on to the App Store and seeing Apex Legends pop up was quite the surprise. I have been an avid fan of Apex (PC) since Season 1. I couldn’t believe I missed the news that it was coming to mobile. Having been burned on so many FPS > Mobile franchises in the past, I was definitely skeptical. My skepticism soon began to fade as I entered the turtotial. The graphics, pretty close to the real thing. The movement, fluid and well laid on the controls, the looting, not the best but it’s as good as it could be for mobile. I left the tutorial very excited for my first match. Thennnnn I got a rude reminder what makes Apex, well…Apex. Shooting 3 enemies, looting, using your special abilities, pinging items, and running around like a mad man; the Apex experience. This experience is a hard to really capture on mobile. However, the DEV team did a very good job at getting as close as possible. Old fans of the franchise; it’s the perfect out of the house Apex experience if you are craving it, but just “mobile” enough to drive you mad being unable to react as fluid as you would on console/PC. New fans to the franchise, you’re in for a GREAT treat. I had fun, first round I was able to get 10 kills, I got to play as my main (Octane). I’ll be playing on the road for sure.
