Good but could be better

Overall the game is fun and no complaints for the most part except for three things. 1. The amount of gems that the game gives you the opportunity to get for FTP (free to play) players on a daily basis is abysmal. Especially since the majority of things in the game cost several hundred gems; card packs, accessories, specific cards you would need to craft for decks, all cost in some form or fashion a considerable amount of gems. Which realistically would take several weeks just to get one or two items. 2. The online public dueling system is horrible. There’s no system for efficient, plentiful dueling on a casual level. It’s either play ranked and get creamed by a meta deck or use the meta decks. And on the flip side search through tens of dead rooms and hope to get a casual unranked duel. There needs to be a system just like ranked but for causal duels with a queuing system as well. And number 3 is the lengths you have to go through just to get the smallest amount of gems in the game. I believe one of the achievements if I recall correctly is Special summon a monster 300 times (I believe not exactly sure if it was more) just for 50 gems. And it increases drastically to get the same amount of gems or less for progressing even farther in the achievement. It’s absolutely absurd. But overall not a bad game. Those things make it less enjoyable to play however.

Play literally any other card game instead of this.

I have never played a card or video game with this level of broken balancing. I played this game for several hours and tried out several decks. The tutorial and solo stuff was pretty good but once we got to actual pvp/online battles it just turned into a nosedive. First, servers were abysmal. I don’t know if it was just me but most games I played my opponent would be disconnected and I would win automatically without even being able to play the game. When I actually did get a match that worked 9 times out of 10 my opponent would have several 3000+ attack monsters on their side of the field by the end of their first turn. I had an opponent who literally spent 5 minutes summoning and pulling off whatever build his deck had to kill me by turn two, something I quite literally cannot do anything about. This game has absolutely zero balance and will never be balanced due to the massive amount of bloat and power creep. If you want to slough through to the point where you can also have a 1 turn game ending deck then you do you, but literally any other card game would be a better investment than this one. I recommend hearthstone, the league of legends one, Horus heresy, or practically any game where your opponent cannot one shot you on their first turn thereby preventing you from actually playing the game.

Not fair competitive play. Also, contain annoying bugs.

This game is a micro transaction game. This Yu-Gi-Oh game is a Pay-to-Win with real $$$$$$ if you want the best Yugioh cards/decks. Also, this game is not fair for sooo many players out there who don’t have the money to spend actually good decks to win in the silver, golden, and diamond leagues. It’s extremely difficult to get in silver and golden and diamond is impossible if you don’t spend any actual cash to buy gems to buy packs. Also, there is serious random connectivity issues that kicks you out the game. Also, I don’t like the “algorithm” picking which cards I’m going to draw at the beginning of the duel game. This game is garbage micro sanction game. Do not play unless you are willing to spend hundreds/thousands of dollars if you want the best Yugioh cards/decks from packs. At the beginning of the game, Konami just give you a garbage starter structure deck that only get you so far in bronze but silver is impossible for a starter structure deck to win. A Pay(real money to buy gems to buy pack) to Win Yugioh game. Terrible imbalance game, tooo mannny overpowered spells, traps, and monster’s card effects.

Potential is there. Almost perfect.

Alright, so this is what we’ve wanted since we were all 10 years old. It looks great, UI is clear and it’s snappy and quick. Now you see that part in the description that says “even offline!”? There’s big invisible asterisks there. There’s an “offline” mode for sure, but riddle me this: why does a card game need a constant connection to the internet? You know the REAL offline people look for? I can ignore micro transactions which lead to potential P2W grime all too common in mobile games but this is a different sort of buggering the player about for no reason. I work on a ship and when I’m in the middle of the sea, with no internet, it means I just can’t play this and have to stick to Duel Generations which is clunky and broken for sure but is truly offline functional. In summary, Master Duel is like receiving a free shiny Ferrari in your favorite color and even comes with one of those pretty Japanese showroom girls, but you can only drive it if you call Konami every time and the wheels are made of condensed marmite so you won’t be getting very far anyways.

Konami ruined the game, this is PvP solitaire now

I grew up on Yu Gi Oh and thought I would download this game, but it just goes to show why I left in the first place. Link, synchro, xyz, pendulum and monsters like that have ruined the game. It’s bad enough that, on their first turn, almost every deck can spam out a full board of monsters with 3k+ attack and effects that make them sticky or indestructible. Honestly the bigger problem for me is that waiting for your opponents turn takes so much time. In this game you will literally sit for 3-5 minutes waiting every single turn against these clown decks because the new cards are so powerful with so many effects you are literally watching them play 30-50 card effects in a turn every turn and you have to sit and wait for the animations to resolve for all of those effects. Other than turn time, it’s basically the same problem Hearthstone has now with power creep except it’s way worse because this game is about twice as old as Hearthstone. The designers lost their creativity a long time again and as a result each set just comes out with more and more broken stuff until we have the game today, which is basically PvP solitaire.

Want to love it but can’t

Played many different yugioh games and have played duel links as well for a long time. This game just seems to have played off the success of duel links and set up full style matches. That sounds great but it ends up not. Your ability to collect cards to make any sort of workable deck is unmanageable without spending a pretty penny. Also the method to collect cards is quite bad. You draw basically from every card in existence. Then can only get more selective sets to draw from if you pull a sr or ur from said set. Also the game is basically just pvp with weak events based on a couple sets at the time. You will constantly be outmatched in the first turn everytime. This is due to you not having access to cards to get by against most other players. Then because you lose, you end up with little to no rewards leading to not being able to get more cards. This creates a broken system for new players downloading this. Honestly skip this and go to duel links. It is much more balanced, has much more to offer, and you will have a better time.

One star until you add formats please

I’m sorry but I’m getting tired of facing people with these new advanced play styles, why can’t I just have an option that will allow me to play old decks like harpies, joeys old deck etc? This game isn’t good for newbies or past players coming back to play unfortunately, nothing to do but continue to surrender when someone plays a 3000+ monster on their first or second turn, it’s just too much. Played this game and still haven’t one a single match and I’ve already played over 15 matches. Please Konami, make changes to the the overall gameplay of Yugioh, games like MTG are so simple and fun to play, you win some and you lose some, but the point is to have fun, I have no fun playing this game after the 5th loss in a row to an OP deck. Yugioh was a fun game in the past, unique decks, a more forgiving Meta, but now someone HAS to run specific cards and specific decks, no unique flare anymore. If you only supported multiple formats someone could play like time-wizard etc, that would be fun. I was hoping that if I enjoyed this game I could get back into Yugioh in real life again but seems like that won’t happen at all, not in the mood to get recked on the first or second round multiple times. A few losses is fine but when you lose non stop, who gets any fun out of that?

Best Yu-Gi-Oh! game ever!!! But needs something…

Don’t get me wrong, this is like the best Yu-Gi-Oh! game you can play for being on the go, especially if you are on the go from playing Master Duel from console or PC with the cross game data feature! But the games needs something that’s missing that should have been added at its release, there’s a Dark Magician mate that stands by you’re dueling field but my favorite card/monster Dark Magician Girl is not a mate to stand by you’re dueling field as well as a offline mode for the solo mode in the game. With how popular Dark Magician Girl is she should have been a mate to be by you’re side on the dueling field, please add Dark Magician Girl to the mate shop, she deserves to be in the game as a mate. As well as updating the game to have a offline mode for the solo duel mode, the offline mode for solo duel would be a great thing to add for those who don’t have access to the internet. These features really need to be added to the game.

Some details that could be helpfull.

At first i need to congrats at konami because this is exaclty all the yugioh fans wanted for long ago, a game with high graphics an all the specs that yugioh brings above, Apart of the low in game pve(it’s understandable because the game is new and is focused on pve) i thing there some things that could be more helpfull for old players trying new decks and old player teaching new player, a custom room.A custom room against a IA where i can pick which cards i want in the field, in the hand, graveyard, banished, etc and i can choose which cards the IA have or make the IA or not play, would be helpfull too practice complicated combos and practice to understand better a new deck, meanwhile if we are teaching a new friend how to play or how to play certain decks and we can do the same already mentioned but surely the new player can understand better he is seeing what are the principal things to do to play correctly a new deck.

Yu-Gi-Oh! At its best

This is what Yu-Gi-Oh! is, and what it has become, wether you’re a seasoned veteran who has dealt with all the lows of the modern meta or an old fan who has come to revisit the game, THIS is the best Yu-Gi-Oh! game out there.Newcomers to the game will be greeted with an unforgiving experience as the game has evolved to be a game of mental gymnastics at its peak, but stick around and find out why such an experience keeps people around. The game has an excellent card collecting method that has yet to make me spend a single penny, having similarities to buying real world packs yet being more generous. The dueling experience is also amazing, never have i learned how to play so many cards and deck archetypes so easily that I actually have multiple decks ready to be used at a whim. Though the game still lacks a casual matchmaking option, it’s got enough to keep you entertained and then some.If you’re looking to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, wether you’re a newcomer, a veteran, or a returning player and are wondering if this is worth the time, then please try it, you’ll be pleased to know that it is a cross platform game that can play with anyone on any platform it is on so you can get your game on with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
