Essential for Healthcare!
I am very fair skinned but I don’t burn easily and I’m very good about sunscreen so I didn’t expect this app to be so impactful on how I take care of my skin & eyes! I could talk about this app all day so I’ll just add bullet points here.1. seeing you can damage your skin in 15mins was an eye opener for me. I wear sunscreen everyday now.2. I have blue eyes but I never really wear sunglasses. UV lens has taught me how dumb that is. I ALWAYS have sunglasses now.3. I’d always wear sunscreen if I knew I’d be outside for awhile. But I’m usually distracted having too much fun and lose track of time. So getting the reapplication reminder is a game changer!I love the user interface on this application! Non sponsored but I tell everyone about this app! It’s important to take care of your skin, whether or not you burn, to prevent cancer or other illness & avoid permanent cosmetic damage!!
Perfect for Athletics
First off I just want to thank the developers of this app a couple weeks ago their push notification systems was compromised and it sent out a very lewd notification. I contacted them instead of automatically leaving a 1 star review. They got back to me shortly and provided a full explanation, they do not deserve the rating they currently have. This past summer I spent around 12 hours a day outside and this app saved my skin on countless occasions, it’s probably the best app for the UV Index out there so if you need it for any kind of long prolonged activity in the sun this is the app for you.
The ultimate app for UV protection!
I love this app! It’s so helpful for knowing the level of sun damage that you’re putting yourself at risk for. Anytime my friends and I go to the beach or pool, I make sure to check UV lens first to see what the risk level is. Obviously spf protection is something we should wear every day, but UV lens makes it easy for me to determine how often and diligently I should be reapplying or if I should avoid the sun altogether. Can’t recommend this enough!

I loved this UV app so much awhile back, but due to the removal of one key feature it's become almost useless to me...Could you please restore the ability to see your personal burn time for FUTURE times? Rather than just limit the app to tell you your current burn time? If you did, I would happily give this app 5 stars! It's beautiful and easy to use, but that feature really made it unique and useful. When at the beach, or when I plan to take the kids out later, I'd love to be able to check this early in the morning again to see when the danger times are (and know how long the danger-time unprotected is). It would help me plan the day ahead better, and know when to truly be better attentive, since I don't always have wifi/bars to check the app at that later hour.

I really need this to be updated. *Original review*I absolutely love this app and have used it daily for many summers. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in tracking the UV index hourly or daily! I’d like to point out to the developers the key things I love the most so they won’t change them. Please keep these important attributes! ❤️Pros: ❤️*No pop-ups when I open the app ❤️*No location services required. I love being able to input my own chosen location. ❤️*All the information is on the first page when I open it. All I have to do is open the app and I can take a quick peek and everything is right there! An app of this sort should not be time consuming. ❤️*The widget. What a great idea! 😡Cons: 😉None that I can think of! 😀👍🏽 SIDE NOTE: I’d like to add that I have no association with this app or app owner. I found this app by doing a search for “UV index” a couple years ago and I’m glad I found it!
Inaccurate data? No protection forecasts
The current UV index is consistently lower than other sources I’ve used, eg the native Weather app, and the app doesn’t disclose the source of its data. There’s a protection forecast based on a customized avatar, but it only works on the current UV index; you can see what the UV index will be later in the day, but you can’t make the protection forecast show how long you’ll be protected based on that future UV index. Lastly, there’s no widget, which, if the data were more accurate, would make checking much more convenient.
Easy to read UV rating
UPDATE: back to using this app. The developers were very responsive to my concerns. I’m giving this app a second chance s as I think it’s well-designed and easy to read. Nice work!PREVIOUSLY: I just received a pornographic notification from UV Lens. Assuming that the app has been hacked? Please update the app to prevent this. I have enjoyed the app so far, but this type of security breach makes the app too risky to have on my phone, so am deleting it until I can be assured that it’s secure.
Please add home screen widget for IOS 16
I love this app and use it everyday. It's well designed, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing - which is why I continue to use it over the competitors. I would love if a future update included the ability to add a small widget to my home screen so I could see my burn time at all times! That would be a feature I'd rave about to all of my friends. Thanks for making a useful app that actually does a public service! I appreciate you.
Great! One suggestion.
Just what I was looking for. I wanted an app that would forecast UV throughout the day and was color-coded for intensity of UV. You can switch between their “flame” symbols and the UV number. Also switches between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Bonus that it uses my hair/eye/skin tone to tell me how quickly I will burn. I love that not only can I tell it that I am using sunscreen but also what spf it is and how water resistant it is. Then i can set a reminder for how soon it needs reapplied. One suggestion for the reminder to reapply - it uses the same reminder tone that I have set for other reminders. Therefore I have ignored the reminders. Please use a unique reminder sound or allow users to set their own reminder sound. Overall, I’m very happy with this app.
AMAZING FOR MY FRECKLY SKIN
I lived in Orlando, FL & worked out doors for half a year this year, and I could not have done it without UV Lens. I did not get sunburnt a single time the entire length of my internship under the hot sun. They told me exactly when to apply sunscreen and it was my life saver!There was a minor hack in the 3rd party push notification service (nothing that was the developers of UV Lens’ fault) but they were right on top of it and took it very seriously, which was awesome! ((((I honestly thought the whole situation was kinda funny)))) Anyway, it’s an incredible app and I literally can’t live without it anymore. Thanks for being awesome, UV Lens!
