Great app for tracking your home contents!

I was a user of the previous app called Home Inventory. I decided to upgrade because it seemed as if the additional features justified the reasonable annual cost. I am so glad I did. The app is easy to use, does an excellent job of helping you capture all the necessary info on your home and its contents, and has great reporting capabilities. I am very impressed with how intuitive the app is and its reliability. Every time I think there should be a way to do something I need, I find the app has the capability. I highly recommend the app.

I almost never write reviews

I have bought so many apps that once released they seem great but then are never updated again so it’s rare for me to write a review. This app will blow your mind with the amount of features you can pick and choose to customize it to what you need it to be. I can personally comment on the high quality of customer service because I was just figuring it out and hit a wall. Not one but several emails were exchanged between myself and the developer over a week or two. This program is amazing because it is built around real experience of what is needed when disaster hits. Features I asked about were already in the program. This isn’t just some database app, it is a complete suite of tools that can be as extensive as you need and grow as you learn and cover different areas. Strongly recommend you download the manual. Worth every penny.

OK but lacking in some areas as of now

The app itself seems quite good, generally well featured, but it lacks some basic things such as any help files or other documentation, and there is no link within the app to the developer's support resources. This makes it quite difficult to learn about features, or lack thereof, efficiently. The app also needs additional preference settings, such as the ability to select which location view you wish to have as a default (for instance, for my use I'd prefer to be able to set it to showing all items). I'm sure the app will develop over time, but for now I'd rate it as a "good beginning".

Disappointing they are now charging a subscription

I was a customer for many years. I am very disappointed they have moved to a subcription model. With the mountain of subscriptions and monthly bills we all have to deal with ... Binary feels they can slip in one more. Guess I'll be looking elsewhere for a simple app you can purchase or just using a spreadsheet. It was nice while it lasted.

Superb product with timely support

This new and improved version of home inventory is fantastic, well laid out, iCloud supported, 100% import capture from your home inventory database, fully compatible with your IOS devices.I was beta testing this new product which imported my old home inventory database, and had an issue updating this data when the official Under any Roof app came out. I contacted the developer and they quickly responded with instructions for clearing out the old data and importing my Home Inventory database. This resolved my issue and now I’m 100% up and running with their new app. RIP Home Inventory.

Love the app and gets frequent feature improvements

The one thing keeping me from 5 stars is maintenance task notifications. The app has a great reminder system for appliance maintenance (clean washing machine, replace reverse osmosis filter, etc), but doesn’t have a solid notification system for those tasks.The app should be able to notify me via push notification that tasks are due or upcoming, or it should integrate with Apple reminders.

Best Inventory App for the Apple System

I looked around for a long time for a new inventory app once I moved to the Apple System with a Mac, iPhone and an iPad Pro. This is by far the best I have found. And the upgrades are fantastic. I can be working on my Mac, entering a new item, and I can take a photo of the item with my iPhone and within seconds, the photo is on my Mac. With inprovments like that, I don't mind the small annual fee to keep it updated. Keep up the great work.

Incredibly powerful multi-platform app

I was using Home Inventory for years and was very happy with the product. It took me a while to transition to Under My Roof because of the subscription pricing and the fact that Home Inventory was working perfectly well. I am so glad that I did. The new app is incredible, has tons of new features, and works across all my platforms (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) for the same price. This app is so powerful and something that I use multiple times a week to keep track of and organize of everything in the house and all the storage boxes in the garage. You can also add receipts and manuals to each item, which is something that I used to keep separately with Dropbox. The iCloud integration works flawlessly. This is overall a great app and fantastic value.

Great app.

We recently upgraded from Home Inventory and overall are very impressed. It's great to be able to enter items from iOS as well as desktop, and then recall them anywhere you go. There are still some areas to be enhanced such as collections reports. And global search would be nice as well as item search. (It would be nice to be able to search for an item based on where you bought it, for example, or who made it.) But overall an excellent step up from the already very useful Home Inventory predecessor.

New features are terrific - and the basics remain really helpful

I have been using this app and its predecessor for many years; I’m really happy with how simple it makes the process of keeping a home inventory. Now, it’s also helping me get my arms around maintenance of my “stuff” and of my home. It’s also helping me streamline my life by pointing out where I have just too much stuff and where I want to simplify. When I’ve been overwhelmed with work and home and kids and all, it has really helped me get things sorted. The team that makes the app is really responsive as well. I’ve written with problems that I created when transitioning between apps, and when there have been glitches, and they have always responded very quickly, with useful information, and rapid corrections to the app where the problem was the app and not me. They also have been very fast to incorporate new ideas. All in all, one of my most used, and most useful, apps.
