Absolutely love it!
For years I have kept track of monthly chores on a piece of paper tacked to the fridge. This app has eliminated that and it is just more practical and efficient in today’s world. If I had to say one bad thing, and I’m knit picking here, it would be that the little red 1,2,3, or whatever number it’s trying to remind you about doesn’t always show up when the app is closed. When you open the app and close it it then will appear. It probably will be fixed in an update and not enough issue to not give it 5 stars. Well worth it.
Love it
I am generally loathe to add new apps to my phone unless it is something that genuinely serves a purpose/adds value. This app is just perfect - it is everything I need and nothing that I don’t need. I used to have this cumbersome system of settings reminders for recurring to-dos on my calendar - but that was cumbersome and clunky and if I didn’t do the thing immediately when it notified me, the notification would disappear etc. This is the app I have needed for years and simply never knew how to find. Aesthetically on point with simple and clear user interface. Thank you and hoping it will never go away!
Lacks ability to set tasks reoccurring more than once a day
The shortest interval for repeating any task is 1 day. There is no way to set a reminder for X number of hours after the last time a task has been completed-only days or weeks. One can get around that in some cases by setting separate tasks. For example, take AM medication as 1 task, and then take pm medication as another. However, both reminders will pop up as tasks waiting to be completed for the day as a badge icon until you mark them both completed, which still defeats the purpose of needing two separate reminders a day.
Perfectly Simple
I’ve been using Upkeep for over a year. It’s exactly what I needed. A way to keep track of recurring tasks without junking up my calendar. I love how it asks me if I want to update the interval to the next reminder, or keep it the same when I complete the task a day or two late. The simple design makes the information so clear. Perfect!
Love it so far…but worried about app maintenance
I searched long and hard for an app like this and was so happy to find exactly what I needed… an app to track all my recurring tasks and remind me when the come back up. It works flawlessly so far (only 1 week in). But I’ve just read a few reviews saying they lost everything when phone broke, and that it doesn’t transfer devices. I’m a little worried about what will happen in a year when I get a new phone… will this data transfer or will I have to start all over? Scared to find out. I see the last update was 2 years ago so a little concerned the developer has lost interest in improving this app. If you’re reading this, know that I (and probably others) are willing to pay for the much needed additional functionality of syncing to iCloud and across devices.
Used for years but still missing one feature
I finally broke down and paid for a task app because this is the only one offers rolling updates. For example, if a weekly task is due 2/1 and I don’t complete it until 2/4, I can have the new due date be 2/8 OR the updated due date or 2/11. I have used this app for many years now and the only thing still missing is the ability to share with a partner.
This is the app I’ve been looking for
No other app gets at what I really need - a way to make sure that I don’t miss the important calendar based tasks in my life. This app is great for knowing when I last had a mammogram, a dental cleaning, waxed the car, tuned the piano, changed my toothbrush head, and a thousand other small things that are too far apart to make it onto “to do” lists, but that over time are things that I truly don’t want to miss! Thanks so much for developing this!
This is so fun to use
I try a lot of task /todo apps, i guess one could say i enjoy finding which one works best for my purposes. This one is really really nice for the repeating tasks. It looks great, nice quick ui and fun to use. Some nice ideas in this app on how to organize stuff in the simplest way. If it happened to allow one time tasks, maybe i could use this app entirely as a calendar/todo replacement.
Hate the new update
Let me stay by saying I’ve been a user of this app for at least 5 years, if not more. It has been tremendously helpful to me to keep track of when household tasks have been done. I am excited they *finally* made it accessible across multiple devices. With that being said, this new update took a total nosedive. It takes me at least twice (if not more) as long to update/reschedule tasks. Only like 4 tasks are visible at on time when looking at your to do list. I miss when you tapped on a task 4 options came up, now you have to go through several options for each individual task. I really hope the team will listen to everyone’s complaints otherwise I may look elsewhere for a better replacement.Update: today I realized the app has the option to “delete” categories… but it doesn’t actually delete them. It just spins forever. I’m so close to finding another app and trashing this one!!
Love the app - just needs some fine tuning
The app is great. Allows editing and custom reminders any task. One thing I’d like to see is when you get the reminder or open a reminder the title should scroll across the title bar. The title allows for many more characters than the reminder will show. Some reminders I have need the extra characters to differentiate from other reminders. Please scroll the titles.
