Doesn’t even show balance
The one thing this app is supposed to do – it doesn’t do. The balance of the Oyster card the app shows is generally 24 to 48 hours behind. So in reality, while this app may show a number, it has no connection to what your balance really is at the moment. What is the point of this app then? You certainly cannot rely on it to ensure you have enough balance for a ride.
Rubbish
The app previously was functional. Now when I log in I receive there is a technical error to try again. Annoying. It’s constant and no way to request help. Why isn’t transit card offered in Wallet like in China or the Washington DC metro? The same company runs their systems as TFL. Get it together. Definitely not world class.
Oyster photo cards
Hello I am a student that would like to know how much I am spending on public transport while on the go with this app instead on calculating manually how much. I was really excited when I found this app but later found out that this app doesn’t work with my 18+ photo card. Please add this to one of the features of the app. Thanks in advanced!
Literally nonfunctional in every possible way
There is nothing about this app that works. First, I can't top up without a UK credit card.Second, you can't add the same card multiple times which is obnoxious because if you change devices or need to keep track of a friend's card you're screwed.Third, in order to register you need to remember exactly where you were at a random time the day before. I have horrible memory and am rarely in london... how the heck am I supposed to know what number bus line I was on at 12:55 yesterday?Fourth, my app never shows the correct amount. This must be the worst part... it says you have five pounds and you trust it but when you get to the gates it says go to h*ll, you have no money. Horrible.
Simple app, needs Apple Pay
A simple app where you can check your balance, top up, see your journeys. Would be great if you could top up via Apple Pay rather than having to input your credit card. Anything beyond that, you’re better off logging onto the main Oyster site.
Don’t even download if non UK resident
In addition to the well published (on the reviews, not on the website) issues of refusing to accept non UK credit cards or even be accessible from outside the UK (the website doesn’t even tell you why just errors out of you try to login) it appears I can’t even login with my TfL contactless account to track. The website does it just fine so I’m assuming it’s being blocked here because of a US address (on the account, I am physically in the UK now and often). It does not, of course, give that as the error but since the website doesn’t (then works fine with a VPN) that is sadly not a surprise.
Worthless app
I’ve used my Oyster card then added it to the app, and the app accepted it. Then the next trip I make, I open the app to see the amount left on my card. The app needs the card added, which I do, and it then states again that I need to use the card once before I can add it into the app. I’m on round three of this crap. Can’t add the card until I’ve used it…..
Journey History Keeps Disappearing
I noticed my journey history keeps disappearing after awhile. I’ve tried refreshing, closing and relaunching the app and even try again in a few days in hope it’ll fix itself. The only solution I’ve come up for this is to delete and re-download the app which I find really annoying and inconvenient.

I find this app very useful
I live in the UK and I am on the American iTunes store. I think this app works best with these to factors. It's simple, quick, fast and does everything that I need on a day to day level. Like top ups and travel cards.Anything complex I go to the tfl site. Which is rare. Thanks Tfl. 👌🏻
