Decent app

I downloaded the app and it works great for controlling my tv. Decided to pay the $2.99 fee to stop the constant ads and that was supposed to be a one time fee but that ended up not being the case. Several weeks after downloading the app it stopped syncing with my tv so I deleted it and reloaded it and now I’m getting the ads again! Don’t think that’s really fair.

VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!!

It is way too many ads. When u are trying to move over a space all of a sudden an add pops up very frustrating. It would work a lot butter if the ads came on when u opened the app only not while u r trying to move to the next movie or trying to play it. It’s a lot easier to just buy a new remote because after 10 seconds of not using it my phone locks up and then I have to sign in all over again watch an ad and then when I’m trying to find another movie watch another add. I think every 5 times u press a button the adds go on.

Great free remote, except for the ads

The free version is pretty good. Easy to connect to my tv, nice interface, good functionality.Just like everyone else, i dislike ads popping up every 10 button presses. Moving through a menu, blam, loud 5 second ad, gotta wait until the ad finishes before moving through the menu.

Works 40% of the time

I was considering paying for this app, until today the left and down button quit working and apps started popping up so frequently I couldn’t use the remote at all. Thank god I found my remote, I’ll be deleting this worthless app of nothing but constant pop up advertisements. Fix the functionality and make the advertisements at least slightly less frequent so it is not pausing out every time you push anything... and maybe you can position yourself reliable enough for people to want to make a purchase.

Very functional but with adds

The app itself is very good; it seems to control the tv better than the actual remote. As many reviews point out it’s just funny that it must be purchased for $1.99 to not have constant advertisements that need closed EVERY time you go to use it. If you have any use for this app then it you already purchased a tcl tv for at least a couple hundred dollars so it seems a little low that they want you to pay for this app for full functionality. Then again, it’s a lot cheaper than buying a new remote if you lost yours.

New update awful, missed spelled words and horrible English

The new update is awful. The ads pop up when your trying to change the channel, volume, etc. I didn’t mind the apps popping before I used the app but now it’s excessive. The spelling should be embarrassing to the app developers, check it out when you “reload scan.” Sure is spelled wrong next to the wifi symbol—spelled sur..Next to the power symbol it says “make sure your tv is on since at least 30 seconds,” doesn’t make sense.

Same old same old..

This like most “Free” apps ,is a Royal Pain until you buy it without the advertising!After the $3 Extra bucks then it’ll work great!I mean the App Store should maybe tell us again that “Nothing in life is free!”So when you take this for free it might be better to try all the apps that are “Free” see which has the best balance of usability with ads?Besides that it worked flawlessly and since I’ve snapped the original remote in half,I guess this will be the remote from now on?

Best TCL Remote for Free!

This app is amazing and it’s good to have when your remote stop working or when it’s broken this app has your covered. This app may have ad’s but it’s better than not having a remote at all. The app is simple you just need your tv on to connect to the app. If your wondering how do you get your tv on with out a remote, it’s simple look at your tv at the bottom at the TCL and directly behind that with be a button so your press it and your tv on!

Great!

Everyone is saying in these reviews that it costs money and that it has very many ads. I don’t think it does. I believe this is an amazing app. I recently lost my remote and this really helped for when I wanted to watch tv in my room. I just found my remote, thankfully. This app works almost better than the remote!

Weirdly not responsive for Netflix app

I have the paid version, so no issues with ads. What is strange is that specifically for Netflix, the remote has connection issues. It will work fine for a minute or two, but then when trying to scroll through the Netflix menu, it "freezes", and tells you to make sure you are connected to WiFi for at least 30 seconds. The connection is never interrupted to begin with, and this only happens with Netflix.
