Mostly good puzzles, but buggy

I’m currently replaying from the beginning because all of my progress has been lost. I’m somewhat okay with it because I have a chance to improve on old games, won’t hit any slow spots, and catching up to the game I left off on will jog my memory from previous moments I forgot, but it’s pretty annoying still. Also, I don’t think the developers know how combination locks work. Spoiler: something like “left 40” means that you turn to the left until you hit 40, NOT that you move 40 spaces from your current number. You can’t say “no math” in the clue and then do that. I also wish that when you ask for hints in a puzzle, it doesn’t automatically skip the puzzle. Sometimes I’m just not clear on the mechanics. Make the first-person character have a voice and “talk to themselves” if necessary. Some of the things are downright implausible (sure, freezing your wallet is a total normal thing to do…), but I do like most of the puzzles and I’m finding this helpful in preparing for an escape room I have coming up. I’ve tried several apps and so far this is the best and most similar to the last room I did.

I'm always surprised when they want you to rate a game when you've only just started...

But here I am. I've finished the first room. The graphics are good, the controls intuitive.Personally, I like to kick back and think on these things, so I hate having a timer. I wish there was a way to disable it, but so far it seems like you can just ignore it and get dinged on your "score" for the level (Did you do it or not? End of story. I don't get trying to "score" on something like this.So far it seems o.k., but I'm pulling a full star for the deals ceaseless ads! The app store listing says you can pay $2 to get rid of them and I'm perfectly happy to do so... But there's no way I can find to make the in-app purchases! The ads along the bottom are bad enough, but the break-in, full screen ads when you solve a puzzle are incredibly disruptive, and not having any way to make the payment to turn them off is getting old *fast*. If I can't find a way by the time I'm out of the next room--latest--I'm just ditching the game.

Favorite one yet!

Super in depth, multi-step puzzles with spooky graphics and a good story line! At times I had difficult following the logic of some of the puzzles, and the hints would just black out the screen and take you back to the same spot you were just at... so I would fix that. Still, I was able to use a walkthrough video at one point for a place I was 100% stuck. My favorite part of the game is that it would give a description of objects when you click on them, which is a big help given it can be difficult to ID everything when playing on a small iPhone screen. Overall, this is the favorite escape room game I’ve ever played. Really excited about new levels! ❤️

No saving progress, no contacting support

I was having fun playing this game on my iPhone. And then within the first hour, what would happen either after I had solve the mini puzzle and an ad would pop up that covered the whole screen that you couldn't close, I would have to close the app. And I would lose all progress. It would tell me it looks like I saved progress on a different device and what I like to merge the two. The only problem is I do not have the game on any other device. I also tried pausing the game and exiting to the main menu a couple times, and I would lose all progress. After losing all of my progress about eight different times, I came on here to contact tech-support. But the tech-support link goes to a generic Zen desk Paige are you signed up for a trial of Zen desk, no where is their support for the app. It's fine until you keep losing all of your progress and have to start from scratch, and no way to get any help. Unfortunately that's why I give it a one. I would love to play it if that issue could be fixed.

Worked and then it didn’t…

I gave this game four stars because when it works, it’s a lot of fun and it’s challenging, which I like. I had this game on an older version of the iPhone, an 8+ I believe, and it worked perfectly. I now have a iPhone 12+ and saw that new levels had been added since the last time I played. I downloaded it again and was able to open it and play through the first level again like I had done previously. I also restored my previous purchase of removing the ads from the first time I had the game. After this, I closed the app to go to bed and the next day when I tried to get on it again, I pressed the icon, it started to come up and then immediately crashed back out to my Home Screen. It did this several times as I tried it several times hoping it was just a random hiccup like some apps have sometimes but no, I never even got back to the main menu of the game due to it crashing right after opening. I deleted and downloaded the app again to see if that would help but to no avail. I will hang on to the app for now in hopes that the developers will release an update to fix this issue because this is truly a very fun game and I’d hate to see it suffer in sales and performance due to this issue.

Best I’ve Tried

I really enjoyed these games, and have played a lot of them. This is one of the best ones I have found. I intend to get as many by this game company as I can. Here is what I like about it:1. Everything works – – no technical glitches.2. The hints are inexpensive and work really well. You can accumulate points for free ones, or you can buy a pack of them for a reasonable price.3. The puzzles are varied, and have more to them than just random tapping until you solve. They require some thought, and—unlike some games—the solutions do make sense.4. The rooms on each level relate to each other, and you go back and forth with things you have found. What you pick up in one room may be needed in another.5. Some games drive me nuts, because you can be within 3 inches of an object, and it will still magnify even if you have used it. This one doesn’t do that. Sometimes you do have to be pretty precise in your tapping, so this would probably be easier on a tablet than on the smart phone I am using.Amending my earlier statement: I have run into a very frustrating section in Afterlite, where the puzzle is boringly random and I don’t get an option from Hints. I guess I will have to stop here.

Great game but...

I’m a connoisseur of escape games. This one started out awesome. Great graphics, really challenging puzzles and built in hint system (you get 3 free). As it went on though, the solutions became more obscure, having to use some items where they really made no sense. Also, some of the puzzles, even when I had the solution made absolutely no sense (triangle floor board, antler clock). Puzzles like this made me believe they intentionally put impossible puzzles in just so you would pay for hints. After a couple of these, I lost interest because I wasn’t sure if the puzzles were actually solvable. I will probably finish but hopefully the developers will take that into account on future episodes. I get that it’s a free game but I would much rather pay for a fair game than get one for free that’s intentionally devious.

Fun When It Works

The game has amazing puzzles and the graphics are nice but it tends to freeze in the middle of some of the puzzles and you have to completely exit the game and start the app over 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s also frustrating when you are purchasing coins and it freezes and use your coins for nothing because the game decidesd to freeze it’s just a waste of money so I’m not going to purchase anymore coins until they fix this issue…..it would be nice to get some free hints maybe once a week as a bonus maybe do a 10 /20 minute thing where the hints are unlimited/ free for those minutes and it would be amazing to add the option to purchase an “ AD Free Version “ the ads are very annoying there’s just too many of them🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ other than the issues I just mentioned this is an amazing puzzle/ escape room game I will give it five stars if they fix some of the issue I mentioned 💯🙌🏼🤷🏻‍♀️💕🫶✨🥰

Fantastic game

This is a great game…..challenging but the graphics are a bit primitive. That is ok because it makes up for it in cerebral creativity. One of the higher level escape games that really challenges you to THINK. Negative….some of the graphics quality does interfere with game play when trying to find objects…I get they are hidden but sometimes TOO hidden….biggest complaint…your bonus for solving a puzzle…AN AD! OMG I wanted to throw the game across the room! After all the effort to solve a challenge, your reward is a blaring obnoxious AD! PLEASE put in the option to remove the ads …I will GLADLY PAY for this game! I actually stopped playing because of the ads…came back about four months later because this is one of the best escape games out there….especially if you really enjoy a challenge! Highly anticipating future games……..

Love this game

I’m obsessed with these types of games and this is definitely one of my favorites. I really like the fact that it does not require you to pay to complete all the levels. Most of the puzzles are pretty challenging and really make you think. However there were quite a few of them that were a little too difficult and even after watching a walkthrough video the solutions made no sense tome. That is the main reason I didn’t give 5 stars. I did like the fact that you can watch a video to gain a hint but sometimes the hints either didn’t make any sense or the hint given was for steps I had already taken and it didn’t help me at all. But I guess I really can’t complain since I didn’t have to pay for the hint 🙂.Overall this is a great game and I enjoyed playing it. I’ve finished all the levels available and I’m excited for the new levels to be released.
