Beta-level functionality with engaging dev team building momentum

I love the idea of this app and the suite of skiff apps. Come back in 6 months if you expect everything to work properly and all the colors to match. If you’re on board with the mission (e2ee everything), willing to get on the discord server and give feedback, able to survive some down time, etc., now is a fun time to be involved. Engaged early users have a healthy impact on design and dev roadmap.

Must try Skiff Mail!

I just started using Skiff Mail, and I'm delighted with its features and intuitive design. My inbox has stayed tidy and organized thanks mainly to the email organizing capabilities, like the simple sorting and labeling features. The spam filter is also quite good, which has greatly helped me by lowering the number of spam emails I get. When I've had queries or problems, the customer care staff has always been accommodating and responsive. Overall, Skiff Mail has exceeded my expectations, and I heartily endorse it to anyone looking for a dependable email service that is also simple to use.

Promising …

Very early in the development stage however I see potential here. App is very basic with no white mode and no options or settings right now. Web interface is minimalistic and fairly clean but seems sluggish at times, especially when moving from folder to folder. There’s a lot of fierce competition in this space , here’s to hoping the team moves quickly with releasing new features and focus on stability on the side.

Skiff is the beginning of infinity…

…for a whole new paradigm of liberty. No one, no where, anytime can take one’s thinking from their mind. Now with Skiff Mail when I decide to share the contents of MY organic-mind-memory I can do so with profound trust in an ecosystem of end-to-end-encryption on MY devices where MY thoughts are stored in silicon-memory under MY control. These are early days of an emergent level of WWW utility that Sir Tim Berbers-Lee had envisioned, but has failed to deliver with his Solid Project. Thank you to Sequoia, Andrew and Jason.

Secure applications with quality work

Since the beginning skiff has set a high bar on what it is doing with its apps. They continue to work on enhancing the product weekly and show that they are growing in understanding of what the world needs now in document sharing, communication and privacy. They take very calculated approaches to all they do. At their current pace Skiff is on par with some of the best privacy focused applications in the game, so if you’re on the fence give them a try. It’s worth it.

Perfect Alternative for Secure Mail

I used google for a long time and got tired of their privacy practices never improving. I then moved to ProtonMail, which I enjoyed for a time, but a subpar interface and horrible search function forced me to look elsewhere. I ran into Skiff mail and I am totally sold. Their search is nearly as good as googles and their clean, simple interface helps reduce sensory overload. I highly recommend them as an email provider.

Great start

I’m a long time proton user since 2014 and Skiff is off to a great start. The apps feel very modern and polished. There are still some bugs (more with the desktop version) but doesn’t deter too much from the user experience. I paid for the year, and having unlimited aliases with your own domain is a plus. You can set catch-all, and if you need to respond, just create the corresponding aliases. For now, I’ll still use proton as my main personal email, but Skiff is my gsuite alternative with Pages. Wish it had more label colors. I usually use about 20 labels. Side note, wish calendar had the ability to label multiple calendars.

Loooong way to go

Interesting app but it is very basic and buggy. Swiping left and right is extremely buggy. App don't have any settings. On mobile you can't have white mode. On web you can. All function are basic. If you looking for top notch security with key security ( using yubikey or any other) well this app dont have it (both Microsoft and Google have this feature). Only reason i rate this app 5 star is to encourage developers to work harder and bring this app in par with other email apps. Good luck! I will update my reviews if app got some needed features. Stay safe and have great day.

Use this!

For privacy and security, this app really shines. Everybody should be concerned about their privacy with e-mail. It makes no sense to use the ‘free’ services when services like Skiff are available. Even though they are one of the new kids on the block, they really pay attention to R&D and listen to their customers. Mate the email app with their other services such as calendar and you've got a winning combination.

Promising, but room for improvement

In general, this is a great alternative for someone seeking to break their connections to the “Googlesphere”. The document editor and calendar features aren’t quite at feature parity, but the frequent updates give me hope.I found migrating from my personal (non-exchange/gmail) email server somewhat cumbersome, so I would hope the team adds some documentation there to make it easier to onboard. Fortunately, I was able to import EML files manually, but it took longer than I had hoped. Perhaps there’s an opportunity to enable uploading emails via ZIP instead of individually-exported emails.Aside from this, I hope they permit the exportation of encryption keys and the adding of PGP signing in the future. Very good overall, with a competent team at the helm.
