Major connectivity issues

I purchased this app to use with my 44 UHFR channels and have not yet been able to do so effectively. It takes a long time for the app to talk to the units and even after they connect they bounce between being online and offline constantly rendering the app virtually useless. Even after the firmware updates and other solutions recommended to me by the Shure support team, as well as the latest app update, there has been no change. The only thing I have been able to accomplish with it is changing the names on the units before it kicks me out of the channel view. Would not recommend if you are using UHFR.

It’s a nice idea but doesn’t work on secure networks

I wanted to use this app to monitor and control our shure microphones while we have live events but it is limited on a corporate secure network. Since wireless connections are banned, there is almost no way to connect without hopping off the network.I tried wired connection using USB to Ethernet but it wouldn’t connect that way.I wish it would allow a hard-wired way to connect too besides just wireless

Wifi only is a big problem

Wifi only works great until the venue fills up with attendees carrying their cell phones searching out every channel for free wifi. Wifi control and monitoring is considered a toy in my business because it only works in setup but never is reliable in show. This is, therefor, useless in most convention centers. There is no option on this to operate with hard-wired ethernet. I operate all my digital gear with copper attached or I don't use it. Sorry, can't use this as long as I cant see the network.

Leaves a lot to be desired

Was excited to see support for UHF-R receivers. But when actually trying to use it in a production environment I found it to be completely useless. Channels flash available to unavailable constantly. Meanwhile my PSMs just hum along without issue. Hopeful for some improved reliability in future releases. For now I'll stick to Workbench.

Great app, if I could give it 10 stars I would!

I use this to monitor battery life, change the gains on the mics and RF connectivity. It works great, even in the background while using for the mixing board. If you have problems with this app do to people being around you, it’s not the app. Your router is the problem.Would love to see the frequency finder as an app in coordination with this, or wireless workbench kinda thing...Thanks for the great work Shure.

Advanced purchases won’t work on closed network

Unless you have your wireless microphone/IEM network connected to the internet then the advanced function purchases for the various Shure products will not work. Until Shure updates the app to so the advanced functions work on a closed network I would not recommend spending the $9.99 for any of the ‘in-app’ upgrades. Nor would I recommend downloading it at all as The app is somewhat useless otherwise.

Please support larger iPads

There are so many screen sizes now so it’s important to ensure your app automatically scales up to take advantage of the larger screens. There is quite a bit of unused screen on my iPad Pro 11 inch. I agree with those who feel $10 is a bit stingy after having spent thousands on the equipment. Look at it this way, how many people are NOT enjoying and benefiting from the efforts of the Shure engineers to develop remote management tools simply because of this in app purchase.

Great for portable monitoring but...

Been using the app in conjunction with Workbench. We love the ability to step away from our computers and still be able to monitor our wireless gear from anywhere within our network range. We recently upgraded our 14 channels of UHF-R to Axient Digital and love it even more. However, our old UHF-R is still in the app inventory and there is no obvious way on how to delete these units. We wonder if it could be because we assigned static IPs and those IPs are still being held by our router? We will no longer be using them due to the FCC Frequency sale. If someone could tell us how to delete old inventory from the app that would be great. Thanks!

Really?

I can’t think of another piece of equipment I own, where the manufacturer has developed an app for the product and then wants money for the ap. Maybe it’s my fault for not looking ahead but this felt like bait and switch... I bought 2 QLX-D units and thought “cool, when I have time I’ll install the ap” and oh wait the ap advertised only monitors stuff and Shure (King of wireless) wants another measly $9.99 so I can actually use the ap. No thanks. The QLX-Ds are worth there price of $979 but fully functional ap should be included, period.

Waste of money

I use wireless workbench religiously. I added my network onto a router this time with about 60 channels of RF the network and wireless workbench sees everything fine. Once I try to use the phone app only uhfr devices will show up. No PSM1000’s or axient devices will even be recognized. Plus I paid for the access to each one and the app can’t find it when the computer can. Waste of money don’t waste your time.
