Peaceful but eerie

I liked this game enough to write a review within 2 hours of play time and I’d recommend it to anyone reading this! I did experience a glitch early on (May have pressed too many buttons on the menu repeatedly) but aside from that it’s been a great game with a wonderful soundtrack. It can be a bit creepy? You’re the only person in this forest with human development ruining the place and you’re hunting for squirrels. I would say 9/10 because I kind of wish it was a horror game, these developers do an amazing job with atmosphere and lighting. Using the cameras and just barely being able to make out what’s moving along on the edge of the forest...I just love it, great job!

So much potential

I hate not giving this game five stars, because I really enjoy it. It’s clever, fun, keeps me wanting to continue the story and see what’s going to happen with these squirrels! I just finished the fourth chapter. That being said, i found the controls frustrating, and was glad to see that I could use a controller for this game. It made the game playable for me. The biggest complaints I have are being unable to stop part way through each chapter and the fact that this game overheated my phone to an extreme amount. I don’t know if it’s because of the added bluetooth control or something else, but i found that the game started lagging terribly, almost impossible to play. when i picked up my phone it almost burned me. it was HOT. once i got it cooled down the game stopped lagging, but every few minutes I had to pick up my phone and fan it off as the game would terribly overheat it again. It also drains a lot of battery, but having the phone plugged in while playing only overheated it more. I would’ve loved to just set the game aside for a little while to let my phone charge and cool down, but if you leave the app for even 30 seconds it closes it out and restarts, and you’re back at the beginning of the chapter. It took me nearly an hour to finish chapter 4 because of the overheating. I think I would enjoy this game more on the Switch rather than on my phone, because if it weren’t for these few things I would give it 5 stars.

Awesome game but I think it needs more story

I haven’t finished the game yet but something tells me it’s almost over I’m in the swamp area, Also for anyone who was stuck on the caravan picture part which I was too what you have to do is take the picture then open the journal then press the lock on the top of the screen then press the photo and fax it but I think there was an update now where it become automatically locked and you just need to press the journal then the picture and fax it in. Also is there like a save button? Sometimes I feel like I’m starting over in a way. I’m loving the game so far, also does this game take place in the 90s? I’ll update this review after I finish the game. :)Update: Ok so I finished the game, it was beautiful, though I feel like more could be added I didn’t quite like the ending I mean like what happened to Nina and Simon? I feel like the story is incomplete and could have so much more but I do recommend that you play it.

Great Game. Can we remove the curses?

I have just finished playing your game and I really really liked it.The ending was sad (apparently Simon and the new cameras didn’t make it😔, and I’m not sure about Dr Nina Scholz) but everything thing else is awesome. I’m disappointed that the game has ended because I want more chapters. If curse and swear words could be removed or an option could be created to remove them (to make it a little more friendly for kids and people who don’t use those words, like myself) that would be great. If there weren’t any curse words or if there was an option to remove them, the game would be perfect. Thank you for putting the time into making this game and I’m looking forward to another update.

Fun game that lacks accessibility

Overall I enjoyed the game. I like the low contrast look, the retro setting, and the message of the game. However it lacks accessibility. There are many places in the game where there is text on the screen that is very important to the game’s goals. The problem is that on a phone, the text is too small to read even with my glasses on! I ended up taking screenshots then going in to photos and blowing them up so I could read them. Also while I liked the low contrast look of the game, it literally made the controls disappear at times. The controls for jumping, crouching, and grabbing items are the same color as the background with no outline or shadow to make them stand out. I ended up falling into the river because of the poor controls. Or missing out on reaching a goal because I couldn’t find the right control at the right moment. As mentioned, the game play was fun when it worked. I urge the developers to put more thought into accessibility in the future as those of us with disabilities, no matter how mild, like to be able to play!

Amazing but glitch won’t let me finish

At the last part of the game and up until now it’s incredible. Beautiful, creative, fun... it’s just a swell game worth playing. However, at the last chapter I’ve tried it three times now and finally looked up a walkthrough to realize that I WAS doing it correctly, the controls were just glitching and not letting me interact with anything. When i tried to reset the controls, they let me interact with one thing but then every touch on the screen perpetually only let me interact with that one thing regardless if the lock was on. I can’t walk, turn, or even access the menu to mess with the controls again or restart the chapter. Until there’s a patch I guess I can’t play which is lame because it really is a wonderful game otherwise.

Great game, a little polish needed

The controls can be a little touchy and there’s a few times where I’ve gotten myself stuck, or gotten a camera stuck, or been able to interact with some controls cause they’re too small (especially zooming/panning recordings)The last level in particular had a lot of rough points where I should’ve been able to interact with something (the bed) but couldn’t. However, such a well done game overall. Creative gameplay, not overly repetitive, good storytelling, and they mix it up pretty well towards the end.Very pretty visuals, and you really get pulled into the concept. I finished wishing there was a bit more.I would’ve liked just a bit more resolution of the story at the end. I get that it’s implied by the tone of the last tape and the end credits scene, but there’s a lot of build up around several issues without any solid resolution. The tapes themselves are already sort of an out of place narrator, so maybe just have a call from Nina playing during the credits explaining just a few things? (Eg what happened to Simon, did Panorama get stopped, etc)

Love the game but there’s a visual bug on iPad

So I’ve been waiting to play this for a while and it’s really exciting to be able to through Apple Arcade. That being said there’s a wired and experience/immersion breaking bug that lasts through most of what I’ve played the iPad Pro version that isn’t there on the iPhone version; the viewport resolution on the iPad seems inexplicably lower than on the iPhone. Initially I thought it was deliberate but after not being able to read what looked like written instructions on a prop, I checked on my iPhone for a similar resolution and the same asset was completely readable by comparison.I’m still happy to just play the game on my iphone, but it would be amazing if the devs could fix this :DCheers and amazing work!

Beautiful! Just Beautiful! 💜👏🐿

When I first saw this game, it wasn’t out yet but I saw previews of it and thought it was just gonna be a silly and normal game about squirrels. When it was released, I wasn’t thinking it was gonna be that cool or anything but I decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did! I started out a little confused on how the controls worked and what my objective was but I got the hang of it after a while.I then started to realize that this wasn’t just a mediocre game about squirrels, it was a full story with so many themes that we don’t think about anymore. It gave me a completely new standpoint about how important not just squirrels, but the whole environment is. Today in our society, we are taking over so much and even though it’s useful to our benefits, it’s also taking a toil to innocent animals and their habitats. This game was just so breathtaking to me! The beautiful colors, music, plot, and the message behind the plot really made it enjoyable for me. I can’t really think of anything to change because it was so perfect. Please download this whoever is reading this because it will completely change your mindset on things but in a very good way and I promise you won’t be disappointed!Great job to everyone that took part on this game! I’m sure your goal was to help make a change and you definitely accomplished that for me! ❤️

I would love to love it but..it wasn’t meant to be.

I would love to love this game and I had high hopes but it doesn’t seem meant for me at all. First I like a little direction and the slightest bit of tutorial. Nope. When I figured out how to get to the caravan (no worries) I had to figure out how to get in and then gas up the generator. No problem, I took this as a bit of a “training”. But why this, none of this helped me play the game. When I hit to the first squirrel there should have been some tip like “ get the whole tree in view”. But no, so wasted a night there. Then I wasted like 15 minutes faxing the squirrel at different distance for camera two only to realize I was supposed to take the camera further out. After night 12 and waaaay too many faxes I just gave up because honestly I’m at a loss as to what yo do and the squirrel is no longer in view. The phone callls don’t help give any kind of direction and I felt it actually got a bit insulting at a point where a player is clearly struggling and could use some instruction which “ do you know what a squirrel looks like” is not. In the end I don’t play games to feel like I have a terrible boss and I’m doing a terrible job. I wanted to play this with my kid but that’s not going to happen. I honestly may be overthinking it but the latest trend toward escape room style games that don’t bother to tell you anything just isn’t working out.
