I honestly really love this app - when it’s working properly. I even prefer it over streaming devices usually. HOWEVER, my entire library has been erased three times in the past couple of years. I finally got smart and screenshotted the list of songs I had, which was substantial. I then had to rebuild my library one by one. The other problem I am currently experiencing is that the player will play a song and then not just stop, but exit the program entirely. I’m not sure what to do about this.
Exactly what I was looking for! Where the app stores my MP3 files inside my cellphone; instead of Dropbox acting as a backup drive. The app doesn’t have to be connected to Dropbox like with the other MP3 player apps. Now I’m able to keep my Dropbox empty of any files. With the other MP3 players, when I emptied my Dropbox, I lost all my music after painstakingly creating four folders and saving the songs accordingly. With Musicbox app this was not a problem.
Everything is great besides the lack of two buttons: 1. forward 5 seconds2. back 5 secondsPlease solve this. By the way, if that option was only in the paid version, the rest of the app is so great that I’d gladly upgrade for the feature to be added! :) I use this app to listen to very long interviews, and at times to transcribe. The speed changer is essential for that and I love that and the fact that it links to Dropbox :) but when I miss one word and I have to manually rewind a second with the slider bar during a 2 hour long interview, it gets tiresome. Thanks!! PS I would have just written the developer on this instead of writing a problem in the comments—but I couldn’t find a developer email in the App Store... 🤷🏼♂️
I notice that the music suddenly crash at the end of the one song. The way I fix it is to go to setting-audio player-crossfade playback-disable it. I found it fix the problem most of time but crash occasionally. At least I can play continuously when I drive using CarPlay
This app is great, but it needs to improve in a key aspects:1. The workflow of getting your audio files form Dropbox: there are too many ways of accomplishing the same thing. You can import files, you can find them directly in Dropbox, then you can create playlists and add files from Dropbox or local files... you never know where your files are.2. Navigating within an audio file: the rewind and forward buttons don’t do what they mean. The icons on those buttons universally mean they should skip a few seconds when long pressed. But these don’t, they move to the next audio file. The icons to skip to the previous or next song are different. 3. Missing Skip 15 Seconds buttons: key for long audio files like audiobooks, interviews, meetings, etc.Keep up the good work!
Very clunky interface. I have the Pro version and I tried to import files from Dropbox a month ago and I still can’t figure out why so much of my music is missing. Really needs to simplify the interface. Select folders you want to download and just do it already. Also need more sort options- sort by year produced would be nice. I always feel lost in the app- the functionality is very siloed out and you’re always navigating from one silo to the other to get it to do what you want. Improve on these points and you have a home run!
I’ve been using this player (paid version) for ages now and I love it. Unfortunately, since updating my iPhone to iOS16, the app has been crashing a lot, especially when going from one playlist track to another track on a different playlist (both saved locally on the phone). Not sure if a new app version is in the works, but I’d really love to see this fixed.
I don’t like rating low to get the developers attention, but the provided email for support always comes back undeliverable. I use this app to check music mixes and loved it. But after iOS 16, it constantly closes suddenly when selecting songs. It plays the first song fine generally. But when selecting a second or third song the app will suddenly close. I hope the developer is able to fix. I’ll come back and rate higher. Also, please fix your support email. Thanks.
Before I discovered this app, I used another app to listen to my music on Dropbox. It didn’t meet my needs and was very problematic. This app, however, far exceeded my expectations, has all the features that I was looking for, and surprised me with things that I had never thought of putting in a cloud audio player app!
Still does not resume playing where left off neither in song or playlist if you leave the app. Chromecast just displays “Dropmusic” but never plays, hangs app instead. Took an hour to figure out Files, Music Library and Playlists are all separate entities and how to move songs between them. With a few fixes could be best offline music player ever.
Music player for Dropbox with audio equalizer, bass booster, audio bookmarks, smart buffering, playback speed control and many other useful features. Download your favorite songs for offline playback. Manage your audio playlists and listen to your music on Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Sonos.
