I will start by saying I haven’t found anything better for the size of my collection. Apple and Google/YouTube both cap at 100,000 songs for their cloud music player and I got tired of the limit. This app solved my problem, at least in small part by lifting the cap. That said, it took over a week to process the metadata for all of my files and I eventually had to delete all of the album artwork because it was filling up my phone even at the smallest image size. If your collection is smaller and loads faster/fits with album art, this is a great player. If you are searching because you are over the 100k songs iTunes Match allows, give it a try but you’ll want to keep looking at the same time.
This app is perfect for syncing large collections of music which are stored on the cloud and playing directly from it (or downloading in onto an iPhone, which is notoriously hard to do). I would recommend the Pro version, as it is not that expensive and completely opens up the application. I do like the UI of this application, as it is logical, looks nice, and is stable (I haven’t had many of bugs if at all). The “port gore” view is my preference, as I like the blacked out appearance. Exceptional application!
Ok so I know this doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, however, it gets really frustrating. The only way I have managed to get music to google drive, sets it with random letters and numbers, so I have to go onto google drive to change it. This may seem simple however it gets rather difficult when I miss name some of them, then have to search all over my google drive account to find the song, listen to it to figure out what the actual title is of it, delete previous song from this app, then replace it with the proper one, all just so I don’t get mixed up on which song is which....other than that it’s good...other than the fact that the songs fade out as you get to the end of them, before they actually end.
I have been searching for a long time for a music player to listen to my Google Drive files on the go especially in the car. I have tried pretty much all of them in the App Store. GoPlayer is by far the best. I thought it was so great after five minutes of use decided to go for the pro upgrade. I’m disappointed less than 24 hours later the app constantly crashes after five minutes. I’m going to leave room for the developer to respond with maybe a fix or some settings adjustments that I can change to avoid this app crashing.
I’m really enjoying the app as a way to manage my Google Drive music library. Being able to play ALAC files in particular is great. The only area where I’d like to see some improvements is the way it handles a few metadata features. It doesn’t seem to manage multi-disc albums very well. Instead of sorting songs by disc and then by track, the entire set is sequenced by track. For example, the tracks will show up as D1-T1, D2-T1, D1-T2, D2-T2, etc. instead of D1-T1, D1-T2, D1-T3, etc. Another thing that would be nice to see is the option to group compilation artists together rather than having to scroll past artists with only one or two songs in my library.
After some annoying design choices by streaming services, I decided it was time to bail on internet streaming and get back to owning/playing my own music. This app is the best I’ve found to allow me to do that from my collection of mp3 files stored on Google drive. 4 stars because it works well in general, but a little buggy. *edit - they updated the app! Works excellently again! Good by streaming services. Back to old school mp3 of my own music for me.
This is a great app. Really nothing wrong with it. Why the four stars? Just a pet peeve-When I have a playlist, and am listening to a song, about one second before the song ends another one starts. Not too distracting for half of my songs, but some of my songs actually end at 0 seconds. I don’t know if it’s a programming error or for copyright reasons. Otherwise, I advise you to get this if you want to put your audio from google drive into a playlist! I downloaded 8D audio and it sounds exact! (Actually 12D Queen but whatever)
it’s a good player, it gets the job done, nothing super fancy which is perfectly fine. my only bone to pick with this app is as of recent, when i decide i want to skip a song or go pick another song entirely, the app will crash and i’ll have to go back into it. It does this every time i change songs, which is really really inconvenient. other than that though everything is fine
don't have apple music anymore because of this app, i have all my unreleased/downloaded music on here!👍 recommend to all my friends. newest update which came out yesterday, Nov-22-20 fixed user interface errors i have been having for the last couple months, now a lot of my buttons aren't invisible (example would be my bluetooth speaker changing option and a ton of other things like queue and shuffle buttons) 🔑
Five stars again now that the playlist is working. Now, if only there were a way of syncing playlists from one device to another. I have complete playlists on my iPhone but having reinstalled on my iPad before the app was upgraded they’re gone from my iPad. Is there a way, or do I have to reconstruct them on the iPad anew? Either way, it’s once again a terrific app — the best by far!
