I like that this is a simple, straight key. Volume and pitch are adjustable via the settings. It was very hard to hear at first until I adjusted the pitch (currently at 845Hz). I've not tried it with the headset yet but I would bet I'd need to turn it all back down again since the Touch's speaker isn't all that great. This is what the developer says it is: a practice key. 73, KG4VPY

Stopped working on IOS update

Update: I am putting this review back up to five stars. I solved the problem by turning Pandora on listening to sound and then turning it off. The Morse App came back on with sound. Please remove the one star review regarding no sound with the IOS 6.2.1. The app works great again.

Stopped working properly after the latest update.

The application (iambic mode) got screwed up by the latest update. The programmers must have tested it for 3 seconds and said "Great! It works!" Well, had you tested it for 10 more seconds, IT WOULD HAVE STOPPED WORKING, GUYS! It used to be a good program; now it's USELESS! It stops working after a few seconds. It's a shame.

Great at what it does!

This app does exactly what it advertises and it does it well. Customizable tone, no delay, everything you can ask for, really!

Exactly what i wanted

This app is exactly what i wanted. All it is is just a key that beeps when you touch it. In this app, you can control the words per minute if your going to use it like a vibroplex, the frequency, and the volume. The down side is that using this like a bug isnt practical as your pressing on a flat screen but a strait key works perfect.

Great

I love how this app is simple and easy compared to the others. My brother also wrote a comment mentioning his sister being “annoying” with it so I just had to write a good rating to make up for it. Great app I have had no ads and or difficulties.

Very good

I find this app very useful in my opinion. Though, I would like it so we could send dashes without being in Iambic mode.

Honestly Works Pretty Well

I know the app seems like it won’t work and has little to no reviews, but it actually works pretty well. You can change the wpm (words per minute), the volume, and even the tone of the pitch. It is, in the end, just a button that beeps when you tap it/hold it down, which is great! It also has Iambic Keyer mode too :DFor such an easy concept, this is the first app that I’ve found that actually works. Thanks!

Description

This is a very simple touchscreen-based Morse Code straight key. Practice sending Morse Code on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Touch the display screen and the device will sound out a tone.

The duration of the tone is controlled by how long you touch the device screen. Send Dots using quick touches, and Dashes by touches held down 3 times longer. The tone frequency is adjustable from 300 Hz to 1200 Hz in the Settings. The volume can be adjusted to a lower level as well. There is also an iambic keyer (mode A) with adjustable dot speed available. A Morse Code tutorial is not included. You can find one on Wikipedia or on the ARRL website. Also see MorseTest, in the iPhone App Store, another educational Morse Code application by HotPaw Productions.
