Best decoder

I use this only for practicing sending CW with the gain on my receiver turn down and only using the side tone. Headphone connected to the radio and the cups over the mike on my iPad. Decodes 100% of what I send at any character speed. I use it to make sure my words do not run together and correct spacing between letters. Just need to send cw a few times to allow the app to sync. I’m currently up to sending 24-26 wpm.

By far the best Morse app on any platform.

I purchased Morse-It app with my iPhone then put it on my iPad without having to purchase it again, as I expected. Then I purchased the premium upgrade on the phone but I was not getting it on the iPad. I emailed the developer and described the issue. They responded the same day, with instructions to use the restore button on the iPad, it worked. I have tried many Morse apps, some on desktop, this one is by far the BEST app, and customer support. 10 stars.

Decent but Koch trainer stalls sometimes

There's a decent basis here for a great app, but I've had intermittent issues with the trainer getting stuck. Sometimes input will stall when Morse is being generated. Other times I've had the tone output stutter or get stuck (extremely long dash) this seems worse with non-default keyboards, but also occurs with the default Apple keyboard)The Farnsworth interval doesn't seem as consistent either (it'd be nice to have that in the settings section)These minor issues make it a little frustrating when you're learning!

Could be better.

1. Can you add vibrate toggle switch to be able to turn vibration on or off. 2. The decode option doesn’t work properly. There are either delays in the picking up the WPM or it’s deciding too fast leading it to displaying the wrong letter. A smart auto-correct option might be required to were it looks back at the word and autocorrects it for what it needs to be.The haptic feedback still doesn’t appear to be working even after it was turned on. Can this be fixed in the next update?

What I’ve been looking for!

Still a great training tool for sending and receiving. Everything I’ve been looking for in a training tool to learn CW. Update: I have since been practicing with the app and have bought Iambic Paddle along with the Ipac controller and they both are a great addition to the app. Would love to see a keyboard option using the same features for use outside the app as well. Thank you!

Definitely the best App for learning Morse

I started tapping on my phone screen before I realized I could pair my Xbox controller! Having a physical, mechanical controller makes a big diffference Buy the extras: 1)Support the app developer and 2)you can find the CWops in some book but to have it built-in and interactive is what learning Morse on an iOS device is about.

Awesome App!

I’m learning Morse and find this app a valuable training tool. I love being on the and use the decoder next to the radio so I can understand what is being coded. Works ok and it does pick up words here and there. But I guess if it’s being coded properly it decodes superbly. The only way to be serious about learning is to force oneself on the air cause that’s when it gets real and all pistons need to be firing on all 12 cylinders LOL. Seen the upgrade features alert about the haptics but clicked the message off before looking to see how to set it up.

Best App Available

Morse-it, with its recent changes, is now the best training app for those serious about mastering Morse as a language. There is an in-app option to unlock additional modes. I recommend simply including it in the total purchase price. I feel there are better apps for learning letters, but once you graduate to learning whole words and phrases, this is the app you want. The ability to text others exported Morse audio is also fun (if you have a training partner). This is one of the few apps to support this feature.73 de N2OW

Responsive Dev Dedicated to the Product

The dev responded quickly to my review and educated me about the process to turn off review prompts in iOS (a pet peeve). Francis, you rock! The app is the best in most regards for learning CW. It pairs well with Ham Morse. If you are doing CW Ops, it is great because all of Level 1 is built in. For Level 2, I am making a custom list of words to work on word recognition and review using the Quiz portion of the app. Also, this app is by far the easiest way to make CW ringtones

Fantastic Morse training, unfortunate updates

Update: After response from the developer I adjusted my review for everything but the subscription this app is five stars.---For Morse training this was the app you wanted. You could find almost anything on it, any method or test or option. Very well done. The new subscription service is interesting, but too expensive and now gatekeeps features. Sad. I still use it, but it feels wrong and I am researching alternatives.

Description

Morse-it is an easy-to-use application that lets you translate, interpret, type, learn, convert Morse code, and more. You can run it on your iPhone or iPad and it is compatible with VoiceOver. Note: By getting this app, you'll have access to several useful and fun features related to Morse code (these are the features explained in this description and visible in the screenshots).

In addition, you can unlock advanced features in the app if you need them: learning and social features. More information at the end of this description. Type any text and it will be automatically encoded into a full-screen flashing effect of the corresponding Morse code. The flashlight of your device is also used. Your "SOS" messages will be seen quite far away! Some sound will also be played accordingly. In detailed mode, the encoded text will scroll during the decoding process. Tap some Morse code on the screen and the program will translate it into some text. Several input types are supported: Novice, Straight Key, Memory Paddle, Iambic Paddle (A and B), Microphone. Left and right handed modes are supported. Test and improve your skills: are you good enough to be understood? Create Morse code audio files from a given text (or variables). Use these files as you like: listen to them to train your decoding skills or use them as ringtones for your mobile phone. Create beautiful abstract wallpapers for your device (or posters to be printed) by customizing the display of the dashes and dots of the sentence you like. Exclusive feature that allows you to decode in real time the Morse code recorded by the microphone into text (note: the sound must be quite clear/loud and without much noise). Some automatic calibration is performed, allowing adaptation to speed, tone and volume changes. The full Morse alphabet (including prosigns) can also be viewed and the associated Morse code can be played. Tapped and decoded text can be edited and exported to clipboard, in-app email and SMS. A special screen allows textual conversion of Morse code and text. Exchange encrypted messages with your friends. Wikipedia and Visual Mnemonic screens to get information and mnemonics about Morse code. You can also add your own websites for in-app consultation. The whole application is highly configurable (frequency, WPM, tone type, color, Morse code, variables ...) A customizable today view widget can be added to your home screen to display the current date in Morse code. You can also become part of the Morse-it Social Club (thanks to a renewable subscription) and unlock the following Social features: Messages, Forums, Radios, QSO Bot, Poem of the Day, Quotes of the Day, Games of the Day ... and more. The following Learning features will also be unlocked (but can also be unlocked with a single one-time in-app purchase if you prefer): Koch trainer, Sending trainer, CWops Academy learning method, Quiz, Macros, Dictionaries: abbreviations, QSOs, mnemonics, timing (Farnsworth) and Morse alphabet/Prosigns personalization, appearance customization ... and more. Some Morse-it features are powered by Icom, a world leader in the amateur radio market. !!! As seen on TV !!! (UK) in Most Haunted Live: Apparently you can use it to communicate with ghosts (no guarantee though :D)
