Practically Required.
First off, the amount of work and dedication the developer put into this is incredible. They’re constantly improving the app to allow character management as easy as possible.Secondly, this app is almost infinitely better compared to the official app when it comes to item management. Unlike the official app I can compare which of my three characters has in their inventory including the vault in a side-by-side view (landscape) and allow me to easily transfer most items to a different character. The filters are what I love the most since I can filter what kind of weapon I want to use or which element I require.The only quality of life improvement I can ask for at this point is a filter for item rarity.
Outstanding work
Absolutely beautiful app, stunning work put into it. I’ve just recently downloaded it to use while playing Destiny 2 rather than the companion app. There is a lot of work that can be done with this app but I see it as a lot of great improvements that will come eventually. Right now all I’d hope for is a way to see the names of items rather than just icons (different views). The second bit I’d like to see eventually is sorting. Destiny 2 did terrible in the way everything sorted, alphabetically, my power, by item type, etc. these would all be great additions. However from seeing as this is fairly new for a new game, you’re doing an awesome job. Can’t wait to see what updates come next!
The Only Destiny App You Will Ever Need
I have played Destiny since it's beta days on D1. I played the game religiously for a long time enjoying it every step of the way. I played like a peasant, swapping weapons and armor through the vault for over a year until I learned of Ishtar Commander. I immediately fell in love with it. The ease of use was phenomenal and the accessibility made it easy to learn. I recommended this to everyone in my clan and they all eventually started using it. No more trips to the tower to get things from the vault or switch characters. This is by far the best Destiny app I have ever used. Only problem I have now is I keep reading that it's for D2 yet it doesn't make the switch. I keep looking and nothing. I've deleted it and installed it several times and it's still stuck on D1. Would get 5 stars if this was working for D2 like the description says.UPDATE: Ishtar Commander is live on D2 and I’m so happy. Works very smoothly. 5 stars all day long. Can’t wait for the loadouts. Keep up the good work team.
Accidental Win!!
So I initially downloaded this app only because I didn't realize how much the D2 companion app could do, BUT.. I still really liked the layout and how much detail is in everything, and how you can tap and hold on an item and it shows you all the perks it has and if you have a shader on it, making it really easy to find exactly what you're looking for.. A couple months go by and I had the app open the other day on my old iPhone (I usually always had rotation lock enabled but I had turned it off on my old phone) and I noticed that when it was turned sideways you can see everything for all 3 characters and the vault at once. Absolute game changer. I play all 3 characters regularly and constantly move stuff from one guardian to the other and discovering this little gem has made my life so much easier. No more digging and searching for which guardian has the exotics I'm looking for, and it works in the middle of crucible matches and strikes no problem. Get this app, seriously.
Amazing app but one thing is missing!
I love this app and the flow of it and all the changes it has made for a much more compatible and user friendly app. But with all that being said there is still one thing missing, the one thing I like about the old app was the ability to be able to create loadouts which is something you can't do here nor can you do on the companion app from bungie. A lot of guardians have amazing builds for maximizing DPS in encounters but having to go into the menu to change all of it around takes too much time if you're in a pinch. Which is why I love D1's Ishtar that allowed us that flexibility to change on the fly. I among many others who have been around for a long time and love that ability would really like to see it come back in an update on the current D2 app.
Amazing
This is an absolutely amazing app that makes it so much easier and more efficient to move your items between characters, or even quick equip them, which I find absolutely amazing. If I could add one thing however, it would be to possibly be able to switch your subclass using this app, maybe even the skill trees within the subclasses? Honestly I am absolutely fine with the app as is, and it is absolutely amazing. So much better than the destiny 2 companion app, which is actually really slow and has annoying ui. This app beats that one in every way, except possibly the whole subclass thing, which the companion app does provide, however it is really slow and unreliable. Great job, I absolutely love this app!
Now Working for Destiny 2!
I used Ishtar Commander for Destiny and it became invaluable. A huge improvement over shuffling back and forth between the Tower and characters. You simply can’t beat the convenience or the quality. Bungie should honestly hire Nigel or purchase the app to use within the Destiny Companion. I was pleased to see Nigel updating the app for Destiny 2. As expected, the app works flawlessly. Great job again Nigel. Thank you for all of the hard work. You should be proud of another great app. While Nigel has made the app free, you should consider supporting him on Patreon. He’s got a link within the app. Unlike many developers he doesn’t run ads or use micro-payments, he’s just another player like us trying to make the game better. Thanks again.
I List Having This App Downloaded As A Prereq When I Build My Fireteams
When I first got into Destiny, I had no idea this app existed and I HATED traveling to the Tower for EVERYTHING. While I was getting carried through one of my first raids, our Sherpa mentioned this app and I downloaded it right then. This app blew my mind! Not only could I transfer equipment between characters and my vault, I could even setup saved loadouts so that, I could be raid-ready in an instant. One click would automatically transfer and equip all the gear I wanted. Fast forward to D2. This app is still on my phone and is still my go to app! The only thing missing is the saved loadouts option but the dev has mentioned that it’s in the works. And that’s fine with me! Good things come to those who wait! To the dev: keep up the great work and thanks for making what should be the official Destiny companion app!!!
Great but...(WARNING LOT OF WORDS)
It's a great app no ads it's fast and all sorts of useful features but I have a couple of suggestions1) LOADOUTS please bring these back it made it so easy to get all gear from one to another at once with a click of a button. Changing all my weapons one at a time from crucible map to map is time consuming putting all my guns in a loadouts and jumping to it would be so much more helpful2) FORUMS adding some kind of LFG/Topic could help people find teams as well as get information on their weapons for good roles 3) WEEKLY TRACKERS showing what the weekly crucible mode is or what the different strikes that can be a nightfall this week can help us4) POSSIBLY A VENDOR MENU it's as simple as it sounds see a list of all the vendors. ALSO if you do this please show where Xur is at not just what he is selling.Granted some of these would draw away from the actual Destiny 2 app but the communities here to growThere are other apps that do this but this ones so fast and accurate, also no ads.But the app is absolutely amazing please look into the possibility of these. If these were put in it, I would definitely give it five stars, I'd probably pay $1.99 to get it. But k will never pay a monthly fee and most of the community won't either so.One last suggestion would be to bring back the full refresh button it helped on the Destiny 1 app a little more than closing the app out
The only way to play Destiny 2
If you use this app, you'll be saving yourself countless hours/days of your life by not having to manually travel to a social space and place item_x into your vault, change characters, travel back to the social space, pickup item_x from vault. Nope! Simply toggle a character/vault, select item type (weapons, armor, etc), select the specific item you wish to transfer, and then toggle where you want it transferred to. Plus you can inspect items with a more detailed stat based view which is better than what the game itself shows you. Can't recommend this app enough. If you're not using it then you're playing Destiny 2 wrong and I feel bad for you and your fireteam as they wait for you to hurry up and transfer your gear already.
