Great for what it does! Needs optimization though
A really great app for meeting friend, sharing cultures and languages! However, the UI leave a bit to be desired and sometimes the feed on mobile will not load photos etc. wonderful app just needs a good polish and a revamped UI, something less boring and maybe a dark mode would be great also. If it had some of these features 5 stars for sure!
Almost there but not smooth
Some bug fixes need to be fixed like when you have notifications on the app Home Screen . It still says you have notifications until you log out. Also the animation isn’t smooth. But overall I still love interpals, just some minor repairs and also dark mode would be incredible
The app isn’t smooth yet but it works well enough and InterPals is great!
InterPals is an amazing website to meet new people around the world! I’ve been using the website for years now. I’ve made quite a few genuine friends around the world. It’s great to finally see an app and I’m sure they will continue to improve it over time. I appreciate that it exists at all honestly!
Keeps getting better!
It’s much smoother than a few months ago. Thank you for all the improvements. A few suggestions: may we have the option to leave the friends vs. everyone posts toggle on friends instead of it defaulting back to everyone? Also, editing the interests part of my profile is a little glitchy and I can no longer edit my TV shows and hobbies. Thanks for the continued improvements!
Very happy there is an InterPals app!
I’ve been on InterPals for 20 years, and I’m so happy to see there is now an a native app! Overall the app offers a good, solid experience. The very picky software developer in me does say there is room for UX cleanup, but I have no room to complain as this is free software, so 4 stars for now. Thanks for the wonderful service!
Been on for 6 years so far
The app could be better, it’s vintage but I feel it’s simple and age friendly as well as far as use. Lots of scammers but also, I’ve built lots of strong friendships there as well and has really changed my life. Just be careful.
It’s decent
I’ve been using this app for a few weeks and I’ve met some really awesome people all over the world. There are a LOT of fake accounts that you have to weed through to find someone that is actually who they say they are. The messaging system isn’t the best either, but it works. Overall it’s just okay.
Spend years making friends and then lose the ability to talk to them in one day for no reason.
User Beware: I've had my InterPals account for two years and have absolutely loved it, but about two weeks ago, my account was flagged for suspicious activity and suspended. I've tried to reach out to the admin team multiple times to find out why this happened and what I needed to do to correct the issue, but have received no response from anyone on their team.It's really heartbreaking because I have a lot of friends on the app that I can no longer communicate with due to this issue. I've never violated their terms of service or sent spam or anything like that, but here we are. My suspension message said the automated system or the admin team suspended my account and there was no reasoning made available to me after that. I spent a lot of time building my profile and making friends there and now all of that is gone. I would probably rate this app at least 4 stars were it not for this awful development.
Minor bug problems but definitely good app to meet people all over the world
My notification screen is always blank, minor bug. Lots of fake accounts, but I’ve met a lot of people so far. Would give it 5 stars if the bugs were fixed. Sometimes messages don’t show until you refresh
Scammers and numerous fake profiles
The site is rampant with scammers and fake profiles. I guess that’s what happens when a chat site doesn’t charge for its services, and it performs no identity checks or verifications when a person joins. I read a review in here by literalkev who said his account was flagged for suspicious activity two weeks ago. That’s exactly what happened to me, and at about the same time. I asked them for clarification, like what the suspicious activity was, but they didn’t reply. Actually, they never reply to specific requests or questions. They even have the nerve to caution someone against reporting too many scammers and fake profiles. Can you believe it? They provide a flagging tool, but they actually tell people not to report other profiles so much.I’ve had a few good conversations with legitimate people, but I would wager that about half of the profiles are either of fake people or scammers. There’s a public wall where anyone can post a comment, but it feels creepy and cringy. But again, it’s free, so what do you expect?
