Good but needs a lot of improvement

I found this app a few years ago and used it on and off until recently. i actually made a few friends but it’s tough because there are a lot of scammers and perverts but that’s definitely not the app’s fault. either way the real problem is the way you may be logged out of your account, banned for no reason at all, or you have to input your age several times without reason. i was logged out but now i can’t log back in no matter how many times i try. it just loads as if it’ll let me in then go back to the login page as if i just opened the app for the first time. i’m really disappointed since i was actually making friends this time around and i hope the issue will be fixed.

Improvements still needed

App has improved in terms of functionality compared to when I first started using it. I like that they added more options to be able to earn rubies although I personally don’t have the time to go through the offers to earn them, the thought is nice. What I wish was focused on is integrating a picture/user verification feature. I think out of all the chat/meet apps, this app has the most amount of scammers and catfishes I’ve ever seen. Even compared to POF which is saying a lot. So just that feature alone would be huge cause most people on here are using fake pictures so I’m not really getting the chance to talk to anyone real. Please make this a priority developers!

Know What To Expect

The idea behind Meeff is great, but like any app whose premise is to help people make online connections, there are always bad actors who use it to scam or solicit inappropriate material. The Meeff Team could be more aggressive in their moderation. I have reported the same people multiple times for inappropriate photos, but it seems that unless the photo in question is their first photo, their accounts are never deactivated. Bad actors hide behind that loophole: their first photo is fine and then every subsequent photo is sexually explicit. I don’t know what criteria the Meeff Team uses to determine what inappropriate introductions are, but there are hundreds of accounts whose profiles state they are perverts looking to sell or exchange sexual content. These accounts never seem to get deactivated upon reporting them. It would be nice if the Meeff Team took the reporting of these individuals more seriously and also implemented some sort of account verification function on the app to help deter some of this behavior.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS ApP

This app is so horrible they allow people who are Asian or any race day racial slurs they allow scammers on here they allow perverts on here if you try to report them they only let you report you and then they’ll ban you even if you follow their rules they still ban you they litterally banned me for no reason I followed all their rules and I reported the people who are scammers they do nothing you have better luck on other apps then in here most these people are fake people and most them are just who they are if I could this app 0 stars I would most of these guys are on here are actual creeps and like people underage or if your in 20s most of them will be disrespectful to you do you don’t give them what they want the app will stay let them stay you pay the price listen to people who are below five stars this app should be shut down they are wrong they don’t care for people who are real they don’t have where they have verification to tell you if the person is real or not most of these people aren’t real if you find a real person good luck to you but it’s so hard to find people who are real on there when 100% of them are scammers and fake profiles and using people who’s re famous pictures and will lie to you or ask you to be there sugar baby who where design this app this app shouldn’t on here anymore I don’t know how it got pass to be on the App Store because it’s horrible app regardless

please don’t download. for your own safety

i’m 17 and i’ve wanted to learn Korean for years. i downloaded this app thinking people could help me learn but i was very wrong. i met 2 guys who were supposedly 2 different people. i sadly sent one of them pictures of myself that i shouldn’t have. one of them began demanding i send him $200 or else he’d post them and send them to my friends. i was so scared so i blocked him and deleted the app and just ignored/ghosted the other guy. long story short they were the same person or worked together and posted my photos on instagram. i had to go to the police. Please note that i’m not blaming this on the developers of this app at all. this was a very traumatic experience for me. the app is full of men catfishing as asian men and even kpop idols to get money. again this is not the developers faults at all; i just feel like there should be more requirements for verifying your identity on here. nobody on here wants to teach you a language. you don’t even have to be “pretty” by the internets standards, if you’re female you’ll get scammed. please, if you do download this app, be careful and trust your gut.

Idea is nice, but the app is overrun by perverts.

Just like all apps where you’re looking to make friends or date or do language exchange it’s all been overrun by either annoying promoters asking for you to follow them on Instagram or sub to their channel or it’s full of perverts. I came to this app a few times looking for some korean friends, I wanted to do language exchange with them as well as make some Japanese friends because at the time I was heavy set on learning the language for when I ever traveled to Japan. Horribly enough it’s not the best idea, the time zone is bad which isn’t the worst thing, but it means you talk so little whoever added you back, also you’ve got men in their 30s adding 18 year olds or people wayy too young for them, and when you think the conversation is going good, their nice side starts to slip and it’s revealed that they really just want nudes etc. I really wish it was better.

Children Must Be Safer

I first downloaded MEEF when I was fourteen; at the time I was trying to learn Korean to be able to watch Korean dramas, and listen to Korean pop music without needing English translations. I was young, impressionable, and eager to learn— willing to learn from anyone who was willing to help. Unfortunately those I found who were willing to help me were as old as 27. The youngest being 23. Looking back at it, these men did not want to teach me their language, they wanted to take advantage of me. They said some very disturbing things which has affected me still to this day. I am eighteen today, and the reason I’m writing a review is not to blame all my mistakes upon the programmers, but to make sure you all know that MEEF is not a safe place for children. Make it IMPOSSIBLE for children to contact adults, and please, please make it impossible for adults to contact children. We are only children for so long, help keep us safe. I wasn’t. Thank you.

The idea is 5 stars

I was excited when I found this app. It’s what I thought I was looking for. However, I was soon disappointed. Not really in the app, not really in the idea. All of that was great, however when I started receiving notifications of people wanting to talk, I was disappointed when over 10 people later plus, not a single one of them was not spam. Every single person I got notified wanted to talk to me ended up sending a message with a link to some sex site. Yes, every single contact I had was Spam. If there was a way to rid that it would be perfect. But until then I’m not gonna spend money to get jewels or whatever it was that you need to connect to people cause I it be a waste of money sadly. I hope others have better luck then I did with this app!

WARNING

I like this app I think it’s cool to be able to meet and chat with people around the world but there are too many perverts on the app and scammers. From my experience I’ve met two Korean scammers both asked me for money. One asked me for $50 and the other asked me for $85 to help him get a new phone. The second person had a fake profile pic of someone from Instagram. To new comers trust your intuition, if something feels off you’re definitely right. Be mindful, they will ask you to go on another app to communicate more, some of the people on the app are kind but for the scammers or perverts just look out for a shift within the tone of the conversation. If they won’t call you or even face time you don’t bother talking with them. Be careful and be safe on this app. I don’t know if the people in charge moderate the app as much but please be careful!!!!

Download if you are looking for pervert and fake account

very bad app. why is that? because you are talking to someone. and all of a sudden the person you're talking to disappears (no blocking or anything). Application developers do it weekly when refreshing servers or backing up databases. but actually they should do it right away. because he is texting every second. result. You're losing the person you're talking to. and there seems to be no chance of finding it again. Also, the admins don't care about the problem. You can suddenly get banned. when there is no reason. And when you are banned, your ip address is banned. You cannot open a new account. they did this for spam. but spam can be reused. normal user is having trouble out of nowhere. I cannot give 5 stars to this app.
