Exactly what I needed

Much appreciation for this app. I was struggling to get the TOTK Collectors Edition but didn’t really have a method to check when preorders went live. I have too many things going on in the day. After about a month of no luck, I went and googled ways to get notified automatically and saw someone on Reddit recommend HotStock. What a double edged sword this was. Honestly I’m tired of the little red notifications everytime a store faked me out with a preorder 😫 But Hotstock’s timing accuracy came through. Today I FINALLY nabbed the collector’s edition and I would not have been as fast as I was without that notification. Hopefully I won’t need this app in the future, but if you’re struggling to track down items like I was, I definitely recommend it. Everyone’s comments are so fun to read to, even if you miss an item you get to experience it with other people, you know? Pro tip - have your logins ready at the potential retailers ahead of time so that when you press the HotStock notification you can get right into actually purchasing your item!

Amazing App

Was having trouble finding an Xbox Series X. A couple co-workers recommended HotStock. Had it on my phone a few months but never setup an account. After a few more months not finding an Xbox and still having the app on my phone I decided to setup an account and give it a try. Within a month I had an Xbox. I missed a couple of opportunities but that was not the fault of HotStock but the retailers I was trying to purchase from (website freezing/crashing). Setting up the account is easy and so is setting up your alerts. You can select what product, what retailers, and what price range and there’s plenty to choose from. They offer tips and tricks for notifications to make sure you are in the best possible position to get the product you are looking for, for the price you are looking for. Another helpful feature is that clicking the retailer takes you right to the website for you to add it to your cart. 100% recommend this app and wish I would have listened to my coworkers sooner and skipped my frustrations. I’ll be setting up notifications for a PS5 soon . Cheers

Well worth it rather than paying for scalper prices

For a long time, if I wanted or needed an item that was running low, I’d have set up timers and calendar reminders only to lose out and find other bought several of what I just wanted one of. I ended up downloading and subscribing to this for the new God of War: Ragnarök Jötnar edition. It was sold out at the time everywhere and every single time I kept trying to get it, it was sold out. About 2 days after I subscribed, I was able to preorder and bought what I had wanted so badly. I didn’t have to pay double the price like I did with the Stone Mason edition years earlier which to me was well worth it. As a fan and collector, this is something I was wary of but if you have the pages open and notifications turned on, whenever new stock releases, you’ll be notified and it is well worth it to me. Whenever I need to buy another limited edition or rare item, I will use this. I can’t recommend this enough, it’s truly amazing! Good luck for all of you on finding what you want!

It worked for me

You still have to be on your game. But it does work. I’m not interested in following all the different sites and email alerts. They alerted me when my device went back on at target and I got it. I had to work on it. I didn’t get it the very first time. But within a few times of the release. I did get the device and it was because of this app. So it did what it says it’s supposed to do. And I see a lot of people getting it on the app chat room. If you think this will auto purchase for you or somehow you think because it shows up on their app that you are guaranteed then you don’t understand how the system works. Also. For all the companies you are trying to buy from. It’s wise to create accounts ahead of time on their sites so when the alert pops. All your customer info is in the company you want to buy as time is of the Essence when it comes to needing an app like this for a purchase. GoodLuck and keep at it. It works.

It really does work!

Full disclosure: I’m an old school gamer and collector. I’ve been at this a long time and my grumpiness flares every time I have to deal with “the new way” to try to order things. My irritation reached new heights as I floundered around trying to pre-order the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom collector’s edition. I was advised to download the Hotstock app, which I’d not heard of before. I grudgingly did, thinking this had to be too good to be true. I’m happy to report I was wrong! Due to the erratic nature of my family’s schedule, it still took me over four weeks to secure a copy but HotStock (and its subscribers!) were there for me the whole way. We received tips and support through the app’s comments section. It’s easy to customize which products you’re looking for and which vendors you’re interested in buying from. Even my kids got into helping me anytime the alert went off. The premium subscription was absolutely worth it. While I don’t like how many companies are handling collectibles these days, I do very much appreciate that HotStock exists to help. Thank you from one very happy customer.

Great tool (if you use it properly)

This app has lots going for it. You set up alerts, when the item is in stock, you get notified, and a chance to buy it. The biggest thing, in my opinion, is the comprehensive list of retailers. You get all the big brands, and can check them by clicking the link. I’ve seen items in stock when the app hasn’t shown them in stock (it’s not infallible). By checking the links for that “have to have” item, you can get it. The subscription is worth it, but it’s only one tool in the tool box. To really make use of this app, get the subscription, check at the restock times (top of the hour, and at the half hour), wether you’ve gotten an alert or not, and you can score the item you want. This app helped me land several “must have” Christmas items that others could not get. Great for tech, and toys. It’s just one part of what it takes to get those “hard to get” items, but it definitely takes it from “can’t get” to “give me a few days”. If used properly. I can’t stress enough that if you are only using it when you get alerts, you aren’t getting the most from this app.

Finally got my hands on a 4090

After weeks of trying to grab a 4090 with HotStock I kept missing them. I could click the notification in an instant and it would still be sold out before I could even click past the checkout button. So I decided to spend the $5 and try the premium version because what’s $5 when you’re spending almost $2k on a toy? I was able to order one through BB in about week, however BB cancelled it so I can’t blame HotStock for that. Then a little under a week later I was able to order through Newegg and I just got the shipping notification!Was it HotStock premium that made it happen? Who knows but coincidental or not I am happy I was able to finally drain my bank account! Yes there are other ways to track stock alerts but I liked the simplicity of HotStock. Search what you want, set notifications and just click the push notification when you receive them.Do not pay over MSRP people! F the scalpers!

Poor customer support

I hate to do this, because the app can be awesome. But in the last month I stopped receiving any notifications on HotStock. I went through the notification test multiple times, and have every setting set up properly. Still, nothing. And the test item notification would not work either. So I reached out to support and they ‘switched’ something on their end so notifications would go to my phone instead of iPad. It began working. I then asked for a refund for the time it didn’t work. And they responded by saying ‘Akkktcually, it was working all along, alerting your last used device and consuming our resources, so no, you don’t get a refund’. Let me inform you: No, I did not receive a single notification on ANY device. Further, my ‘last used device’ is my phone. I almost never use my iPad. Ridiculous. So frustrating to not be refunded or even considered! So, instead of refunding me $3 (which would be fair to me), you mistate the facts, and tell me to bugger off. I guess it was worth saving $3 to get a bad review, and for me to tell everyone to use another service? Extremely poor customer service.

All options exhausted, this get me an Xbox

To cut the manure, THIS WORKS. Hands down, 100%, no questions asked this app is the ONLY reason I was able to get an Xbox series X. In my 30’s, young child, soul sold to my work and wife…I have no time to chase restocks with the time and enthusiasm of a teenager on summer vacation. Stumbled across this app goodness knows were and was willing to try anything. Paid a couple bucks for the premium perks and let it work and work it did, less than a month and I had my treasure. We’re talking restocks that held out for mere minutes. Whoever programmed this thing, drinks on me boys and girls because work well done. Y’all helped a blooming middle aged man find his peace again after my Xbox one hard drive crapped out. I had to drop my vices to reach peak performance in my profession and raise a family, leaving my solace coming in the form of few well time head shots. Thank you for once again bringing balance to my world for hope was near lost. Side note: a little work was required on the side. I had accounts with payment setup in advance for most authorized Xbox distributors. Minimal clicks required when the race starts.

Easy and effective

We all know how hard and time consuming it can be to get that one out-of-stock item. This app helps to streamline the whole process of searching and refreshing. When the item drops you get a notification which links you to the appropriate retailer. You still have to be quick! Using this app does not guarantee you'll get it but your chances are better. The app does a great job of walking you through the set up and how to make sure you're getting the notifications. Not sure if the paid upgrade is that useful since I cant test it and Im sure people had success without. However, I did the upgrade and in two days of using the app I scored Zelda TOTK collectors edition. Sooo if you really want more of an advantage.. id go for it. One area of improvement. Sometimes the link goes to the retailer but not to the item. Idk if that’s more on the retailer or app. Other than that Its definitely worth a shot. Just make sure you paying attention and use the notification tops. Good luck to all the collectors and fans. Scalpers can GFTS.
