Great concept, needs new algorithm.

So, between being a mom of two and having horrible anxiety, my memory is nonexistent. Adding depression in the mix I have a hard time getting things done. I have to admit, this app has helped a LOT. I have successfully used it daily for a month now and it helps me remember when I do certain things (as in showering) and making sure I feed and walk my dogs twice a day and don’t forget. I can honestly say this IS the best app for it.BUT. I do not want to give it 5 stars because LOGICALLY, their formula doesn’t make ANY sense to me. The first day you complete a habit, it stays at zero. The next day, it goes to three. According to their page, it “takes 91 days to complete a habit”. But REALISTICALLY, if I start tracking how often I can continue a streak, the first time I do it, it’s 100%. If I do it again, the next day my streak would also be 100%. BUT, If I miss the 3rd day, I would no longer have 100%. SO, what I’m trying to say is that it would be SO much more motivating if it started at 100% because I would be much more likely to fight to keep my 100% than to see small numbers and have to take 3 whole months just to complete it.

Recent bug ruined the app for me

I paid for the upgraded Habit in 2019 and I have been using it since. Honestly, it has worked perfectly for me. I love the algorithm and the simplicity. It’s satisfying to fill in your habits. And then, out of nowhere, the tracker starts pushing me to upgrade... even though I’ve already upgraded. It’s pushing a New Years sale and the notification is persistent. When I went to restore purchases it said my purchases were restored and then... nothing. I deleted the app and redownloaded it, thinking that would help. I subsequently lost all of my data, all of my habits, and all of their progress. Worse, the “restore purchase” still won’t work. I emailed support a week ago and have had no response. It’s upsetting because Habit had become a part of my daily life and now I feel so defeated looking at it. I would love to have this resolved but with no communication from the team, I suppose I’ll start looking for a new habit tracker.

screwing long time users

I paid for the app a while ago and now it’s asking me for more money like three times the original amount that I paid for it. I expect all the features I originally paid for including dark mode to be restored. I tried to add the widget and then the app reset itself *and turned off dark mode* to start giving me messages asking for more money. I will delete this app faster than you can say price gouging if my paid-for features are not restored. Hitting “restore purchase” does nothing. It brings up a screen that says my purchases have been restored, but the app functionality remains at the free version.Update: Restore purchases finally worked. However I am still annoyed with the exorbitant price increase from $12 to $40. What exactly was added to the app or improved within it to justify charging $40 per year? I will probably use this app for the rest of the year and then cancel. It was a perfect software, the algorithm that calculates percentage is unique from a behavioral standpoint, but I’m not sure that unique aspect is worth an extra $28 per year.

The best app for Habit Tracking!

I’ve been looking for an app to list my habits and keep track of them throughout the day. I’m a visual person and need the reminders so I’m on a set schedule. While this is app is beautiful with the colors, and has a percentage system, reminders, no annoying ads, and a great purchase system (I could choose to pay 5$ to get the entire thing?! AWESOME!), I do not like how I set my habits to be certain times a week (for example, I set Reading to 4 times in 7 Days) and it says I’ve only completed 22%. Now this is just personal because I’m not a fan of math and so percentages just confuse me lol. But I am giving 5 stars because it’s the best, most affordable app I’ve come across for tracking habits. Other apps make ads pop up every time or you’re only allowed 3 habits and have to pay a yearly subscription for more.

Used to love until...

I used to love this app. So simple, easy to add a habit goal, and then check off the days when I met it. Ever since the new year however I’ve been getting pesky “offers” to upgrade to premium that just will. not. go. away. “This offer ends in 70 hours!” Well, it does end after 70 hours, only to be replaced by a new one. I decided to keep using the app and resign myself to just ignoring the now permanent “offer countdown” that persists at the top, but then I wanted to delete one of my habits and add a new one in its place... The app let me delete an existing habit goal, but when I tried to add a different one in its place the “+” button for adding a habit reroutes me to.... the latest offer for premium. Is this a bug? Can I no longer use the free version of the app? I’m so disappointed because I had really been loving the simple version of the app as it was... now it’s becoming more nuisance than it’s worth. Will be looking for an alternative sadly :(

Getting greedy

Edit: Seems like many people are having the same issue and the devs are ignoring everyone. What a scammy company I'm switching to Streaks it's better anyways it adds things to apple health and has custom icons and you can set multiple reminders. apple watch support and an updated ios14 widget. I've had this app for a long time. I loved it and I even paid for the premium. But after the newest update they decided to change the premium price and make it into a subscription type fee. It is cheap right now only 12 bucks but it shows that the original price is 40 bucks?!?! seriously that's a rip off for a habit tracker. The kicker is that since it changed the price and how you pay it took away my premium and now expects me to pay for it a second time. if they are going to take away peoples premium then they should refund them their money I feel bad for the people who just bought it only for it to be taken away.

The best for sticking with a habit

I’ve tried many habit trackers and they never work for me, as most focus too much on “streaks” or not breaking the chain. For a perfectionist like me, missing one day and breaking my streak tends to send me into a spiral where I give up and backtrack on my success. This app changed all that! My goal is now to get to 100 and keep it up! I’ve been using it since January and have reached 100 or close to it on most of my habits and maintained it. The best thing is that missing a day or two doesn’t ruin your score. However, miss several days or a week and you start to see your score go down so you are motivated to keep doing the habit to maintain your score or keep growing it. When starting a new habit, your score grows quickly which is very motivating! I have one habit that I was trying to do 3 times a week but I’m doing it almost every day thanks to this app! I also love how easy it is to see all your habits at once and quickly check them off for that day because today is on the far right. Other apps I’ve used are not this easy. I enjoy looking at the calendar for each habit occasionally, but mostly just stay on the main screen.

Changed service and took away features I paid for

Edit:They finally got back to me and helped me restore my premium features. I’ll update again in a month or two if their are any more issues.Original comment:I started using this app a few months ago because it wasn’t a subscription model. I track habits off and on and didn’t want to pay monthly for something I’m not always using. At the time you could pay a one time fee of something like 5.99 to unlock everything and if you’re happy with the service you could pay 6.99 instead as a tip. I paid the 6.99 because I was so happy with the non subscription service. After using it for a few weeks I fell off of tracking and didn’t open the app for about 2-3 months.... (again, this is why I went with this app)Now that I have returned I no longer have all the services that I paid for and they are telling me to pay a monthly fee to unlock something I ALREADY paid for. I contacted them to get this fixed but they haven’t replied to any of my emails. If you offer a something for an amount of money you don’t take it away from people because your prices change. I already paid to unlock everything. Restoring my purchase doesn’t work and they are not responding. Really not happy with this..

Bad product, bad company

I used to love this app, the ui is simple and easy to navigate with little features that distract from the core purpose. But the company has the worst customer service I have ever seen. 2 weeks no response from them. I have spent over $70 on donating to them over the past year of my use of this app because I love it and supported their product. The main reason I supported it was because they didn’t charge a monthly fee. Guess what they do now. The latest update took away my premium access and now is asking for a monthly fee to use use this very simple app that they have done little to update on a monthly basis. I wish I could get a refund for all the donations I have made to the developers but this is the best I can do. If I have any advice, don’t download this app, there are 500 just like it that also charge a monthly subscription fee and they offer more features. This was a great app but now it is just another crappy habit tracking app. Horrible horrible people that are vile to this earth, I only wish them a hard time because they used to be my favorite.

First review of any app! TLDR: This App Rocks

This is my first time reviewing any app on the app store and I have used iPhones since the 4s. This really helped me nail the habit I’ve been wanting to pick up the most and thats journaling. Along side journaling, I also implemented drinking tea into my routine. I found that writing myself how long a habit takes to complete in the “Motivate Yourself” section helps a lot in motivating me to get that habit completed. I would suggest taking small habits and building off those. The design is really neat, showing off your percentages of how far along you are into your habit. Reaching a 100 percent is really nice, but I found that I actually have built the habit even before hitting 100 percent completion. Around the time I usually journal I can, almost everyday, remind myself before the app reminds me and I think that speaks volumes about the app. This app is a great tool to have, but like all tools you must know how to work with it. Luckily, this app is super intuitive and it’s easy to build steam with this app and get a few wins under your belt to feel accomplished as you see your percentage reach closer and closer to 100 percent. Definitely recommend this app, poke around with it before you dive in, get a feel then set your first habit you’d like to form, you won’t be disappointed! :)
