Amazing motion tracking...but that’s it.

This is a good app for tracking your motion and recognition of exercises. It’s so nice to not have to keep logging info during a workout but unfortunately the convenience stops there. Unfortunately it’s not 100% accurate and usually misses a rep in the beginning and at the end. Unfortunately there is room for improvement for editing exercises from the watch, it is cumbersome to keep fixing the auto log and there’s no way to bulk update or go back a set. The way the app works it’s very easy to accidentally log a set and you have to go back and delete them and re-add them. If this could get cleaned up it would be easier to use the auto log feature The worst part of the app is the guided workouts. They have no guide without using the internet to go to a website that explains them but it would be easier to google it at that point. No instructions transfer to the app or the watch and it really makes the app harder to use for an entire workout. They seem to have ignored a lot of the guidance so you already need to know what you’re doing before getting into this app.

This is one of the coolest workout apps for weight training i have ever used!

I tried this at the gym for the first time yesterday and after training it for a motion it was was pretty good at remembering and identifying the workout each following set. I have also been looking for a good app to record calories burnt during weight training and this works better than the open workout i was using with the watch’s built in workout app. I have only used this one time, I’m not sure how it will work with legs but either way manually logging was also simple. So in my opinion a pretty solid app.

This is a great app to optimize and track workouts

I'm by no means an expert, I took the gamble and spent $40 downloading several workout apps. Gymatic has definitely come to the table for being the best that I have tried, even so to a point where I signed up for the premium package after a few days on the exercises. My workouts are consistently dynamic and the app allows me not to think about the weights. It tracks them for me as I gain strength. I'm very impressed with the workout sets, adding, deleting or changing certain exercises, and the workout timer that is included between each set as you log it. I personally love this app!

The best workout tracker hands down

I’ve been using this app since day one and still do so every day even years later. I’ve even tried others over the years and nothing else is even close. My only complaint is that it hasn’t improved much over the years. Although that’s just a testament as to how good this app really is. With that in mind, I’d like to make some suggestions for improvement:- Combine pre-existing workouts so I can, for example, alternate between parts of an ab workout with a chest workout and not have to sort through all of my exercises as I would in a “free form” workout. - The ability to superset multiple exercises from a workout on the fly. - Either / or options for workouts. That way I can have several choices within a workout especially in a busy gym where preferred equipment may be unavailable. - Multiple levels of categorizing for exercises. - Metadata support for custom exercises- Support for external / multiple BLE accelerometers to better identify and track exercises. These devices are cheap and easy to obtain, plus they could even sell them. - the ability for watch and phone to work together while a workout is in progress. In spite of these suggestions don’t get me wrong this is hands down the best workout tracking app on any platform.

Works, Great Concept, a bit Quirky Sometimes

Gymnastic works surprising well. Most exercises track automatically and I love the logs it creates. I especially enjoy the watch app. No bulky phone needed. Its a bit like having a trainer on your wrist. I’d rate this 5 stars but the watch version isn’t as intuitive as it could be. It gets confusing when you try to edit existing sets— do you tap? press and hold then tap? swipe? am I editing the current exercise or a future exercise? Also, the haptic feedback is hit-or-miss. If the screen is off, you don’t always feel or hear the rest stopwatch. Despite the quirks, it’s an impressive product and I look forward to future improvements.

The app is just ok

The app has roughly 20 pre installed workout routines. You can create a routine yourself, but it’s a bit of a pain. There was once instructional videos that showed you how to perform each exercise, but the website the app link to is now requiring a membership to see those videos that were once free to watch. The watch app does an ok job and keeping track of your reps and will occasionally switch sets without user input once you have completed your reps. Normally you have to tap the watch to switch sets. The watches count is also off a little. If I’m doing 20 reps I usually hit 21 or 22 before it lets me know that I hit 20, and that’s with exercises that it has “learned” my movements for. So, is this the best weightlifting app... probably not. There is definitely room for improvement.

Best Workout App- End of Discussion

Update 2: one bug was fixed and replaced with another. Now when I start a freeform workout from my Apple Watch, I can’t stop it once I’m done. The only option to pause. I can’t to power my watch down to stop the program from running. And of course the entire workout was recorded, so frustrating!Update: I originally ranked this 5 stars but for the past few weeks I keep getting the same error that my logs weren't saved. Even after resetting the app, the same result occurs. I do not see an effective way to seek tech support and therefore must lower this app to 3 starts until this problem is fixed. This is the Best Workout App for me; End of Discussion. I've been using this app since I got my Apple Watch about a month ago. I've used it twice a day everyday. It has learned my routine and has become more accurate with the rep count. I just open the app on my Apple Watch, start a season and it recognizes the exercise I'm doing and records the reps. It's that easy. You can't go wrong with this app. I tried the other apps but this app beat them by a mile and offered everything I needed for my workouts.

Best app out there when it works. Unfortunately it goes days without working.

I have been using this app as my main workout app for 5 years. I love the customization, the watch app telling you next thing to do and heart rate. And the tracking and easy of changing a workout, set or rep. Unfortunately, there are periods when it just does not work. This year I have had 2-3 times where the app opens but nothing works. Log out and back in and says server issues. If you like to workout daily and your app you use to track these workouts decides to stop working for 2-5 days straight, it becomes frustrating. When this happens more then a few times, it’s unacceptable. So this week I will look for anther app and build my workouts in that app. Thank you for a great 5 years but time to move on. . .

It does a great job but some work has to be done.

First of all its a great app period and deserves five star.Update: just did jump rope. Its put me in rest even if i stop for a second or two. Its really frustrating.Update 2: Sorry i have to cancel subscription its not working. I was thrilled at first. But it needs some work. Suggestion infuse some manual readings with machine learning instead of whole machine learning. But it needs some work.Guided voice commands dont work with music playback thats a must.Cardio data is little different then any other strenght exercises. Eg. When i run i need to know how many miles i ran. With which speed i ran. What was my intensity chart during this run.Rep count can be made more accurate but i am still happy what its doing right now.. The problem happens if i stopped in between. Cure is just count rest period in background. Dont show it on apple watch and keep the rep count where i stopped or i will go mannually to next set and if i started rep should be counted as i exercise for that particular set.Syncing data with activity app when i am running or doing elliptical. Data should be synced as a running or elliptical not stregnth training. I am not using cardio option on watch i add cardio in workout routine. Like warm up and cool down and normal cardio day.Ui:- it can be make better and data can be shown in beautiful and understandable way it collects.

Good days and bad days

This app has the potential to be the greatest thing to happen the gym!!!!Most of my exercises are tracked nearly perfectly when I use the app on my watch. However, once in a blue moon, the app will have a bad day. It will jump to the next exercise 3 reps into a set. This is frustrating during some exercises like squats. The app will let “undo” if it moves ahead on its own. But you only have 3 seconds to tap that little button. That is not happening weighted out under the bar.If you do not catch it in time. There is no going back or fixing it live in then app. If you go to hit undo, and you are just a hair late, you have now just hit the finished exercise area on the watch. So you just skipped two sets. The second mistake can be “undone”. But the first is now uneditable. You can select to move ahead with a different exercise, but you can not select which set #. So if it skips set two of a particular lift, or thinks it detects a different exercise, and you try to go back to the original lift, but you cannot tell it which set you want to do. It will automatically start you at set 3.Until the AI of the program is better I think the user should have an option to let the use manually Mark when each exercise is finished. And can we get a permanent undo button located away from the finished set area?
