Fun with Directions HD Lite

Fun With Directions Lite is a wonderful app to help struggling students, or language learners to understand the concepts of Give and touch. With three levels to choose from and the ability to set up for two users as well as track progress Fun with Directions is an app you will want to return to time and time again. The colorful, kid friendly graphics and use of child's voice help engage the user in the requested tasks. Great for use in the classroom or in speech sessions teachers and students will appreciate the simplicity of use and presentation of concepts.

Making FD easy to do

Hamaguchi has developed a great app for following directions. Your child can follow the directions given of touching and giving objects. I like the ability to choose from three different levels of difficulty that are available in the settings. The graphics are colorful and bright! Thanks for making following directions so easy!

No sound

Despite ensuring that sound is selected in the settings, there is NO SOUND.

Great app with lots of uses.

I love this app for youngsters...with and without language challenges. Great thinking game for listening and following directions. Great For learning categories, function, pronouns. Fun prediction game where the child has to find a hidden animal behind doors. Such great potential to use for delayed kids and kids on the spectrum. Always a highlight of my therapy sessions.

Wow!

I am a speech therapist, mom, and strong advocate for parents. My son loved the lite version! The .99 version was well worth it! I would give it 5 stars but there is no way to change from 1-2-3 step directions. Love that you can turn words on and off. Would be great if you could delay the pictures (I.e. Direction then visuals!). This has such potential. $9.99 is too expensive for most parents though. Too bad there is not a professional versus home version. When or if you make those changes I will make sure that parents and colleagues know about the potential for this app. Awesome!

Nice lite version

This is a great way to try out a really good app. The lite version gives you ample opportunity to experience this app if you are unsure about purchasing the full version. This is a great app for children who struggle with following directions whether they are just beginning to learn the concept or are needing reinforcement.

A great app for kids with special needs!

My 4 year old son with autism loves this app! But when he didn't get the answer right, nothing indicated that to him. I had to tell him to try again. I would like to see some alert for this, like "try again!" or something similar. Otherwise a great learning tool!

Good for following directions

The lite version only includes 2 concepts, touch and give. The full version has more concepts. The user needs to listen to a direction either touch or give and follow the direction. I like the app but wish that in the levels of difficulty that all choices of items would be grouped together instead of having to scroll to find the correct one. I've this app in my therapy sessions.

Great!

A friend suggested this app for my son. I am so glad that I got it. In fact, I liked it so much that I went and bought the full app. Teaching a child to listen and to follow simple instruction is so important. As adults we take it for granted. There are some children that have trouble with organizing thoughts and instructions. This is wonderful for helping and it is fun also.

Awesome App!

This lite version is well worth the .99 price tag! Clear concise directions, uncluttered backgrounds and engaging pictures help to make this an enjoyable app. It is easily adjustable to three levels. There are superstar directions that the child/student has to listen to, remember, complete then repeat the direction. Recording the student/child repeating the direction allows the child to hear themselves and then they can re-hear the direction so they can tell if they got it correct or not. The full version covers more concepts, but this is a great app to start with. Can track 3 different users in this version. Very versatile for a lite version!

Description

Give the boy something to eat. He’ll even say “Thanks!” Touch the violin and it plays for you! Check out our Youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXCe1fETCnc Fun with Directions Lite is a ground-breaking app for the iPAD, designed to provide a fun and engaging way to practice listening, following directions, working memory and the auditory processing of language.

From the simplest of directions (“Touch the cat”) to the more complex (“Give the boy without a hat or glasses, something round that grows on trees and can be red or green.”) your child can grow and learn with this game over time. Colorful, vivid art and animations against a white background combine to create a complete game experience without visual clutter. Sound effects and surprises keep the game engaging! This app is a great choice for a toddler/preschooler, or any young child who would like to practice listening to or reading directions! Included in the Lite version are two concepts: “give” and “touch.” It allows 2 users to have their data tracked, plus one guest user to play. Features include settings for data tracking, automatic vs. manual advance to the next direction, touch/drag OR touch/tap option, text on/off, (to practice reading vs. listening) and the desired level of play: easy, intermediate, and advanced. An added bonus that is included in this app is the optional “Superstar Direction” which allows additional practice for remembering (“What did you have to do?”) but also expressive language. The child’s response is recorded and played back. Superstar Directions are surprise questions that can be set to a variety of intervals, or turned off.
