Fantastic

I love this app!!! I like the "repeat" feature as well as some of my students need repetition.

Having Fun Following Directions

This is a great app for working on following directions and basic concepts. There are three difficulty levels making it appropriate for a wide range of users. The pictures are colorful and fun, and the voice is clear and easy to understand. I would love to see an option to be able to just click on an item and click where it belongs, rather than having to drag it across the screen. This would make the app more user friendly for those with fine motor issues. Overall, a useful app that is well worth the money.

Nice app

Nice app for assessing the ability to process and follow direction. One is given a direction to follow, and options to carry out that directive are illustrated. The user then selects from a varied field of options. The layout is simplified without clutter, so the listener can tune into what is expected of them. There are options to customize or change the way directions are given - verbal or text. As the listener gains in experience, the questions become more complex. I would love to see an adaptation to this already fine app to be able to change the background color from white to say light yellow or green so that the glare of the white back-lit background does not tire the user's eyes as much. The "Superstar" Direction is cute, and reinforcing as the user gets a chance to proclaim what they just did. I would recommend this app for home and clinic use.

Must have for SLPS

This app is fantastic for working on following directions with multiple modifiers and prepositions. My students love using this app. They think it's a "fun" app, not a "work" app. The app has 3 levels: easy, intermediate and advanced. You can work on all of the included concepts or customize the concepts for each student. You can create groups with each student working on different concepts or levels. The app can record data on a student's performance for each concept per session. Data can be printed or emailed. There are no ads or in app purchases. There's a big difference in difficulty between the intermediate and advanced levels. I would love to see a level between the two. I'd recommend this app for speech therapists and for parents of preschoolers who need help with complex directions and directions that include prepositions.

Great app

This app can be used to work on listening and basic concepts. However if the speech option is turned off and text on, then it becomes a reading activity. What I like about this app is that it can be customized for the user in these areas: levels (easy, intermediate, and advanced), text ( on or off), voice commands ( on or off), superstar ( on or off) and concepts ( give, open, color, middle, touch, close, erase, bottom and push). The concepts can be selected randomly or a specific concept. I will definitely be using this app in my therapy sessions. Another great app from Hamaguchi!!

Great App for Kids With Speech Issues!

I am in LOVE with this App! First of all, it is kid-friendly, and my son enjoys it, which makes everyone's life easier. Plus, it is so customizable to the child or student's needs, depending on the setting, and if you are an SLP, it is set up for data tracking for multiple users! The app's design males it seem like a game to kids, which is highly effective. In the easy setting, it teaches very basic direction, and the you got from there! Anyone with a child with or student with receptive language delays, should check this app out!

Great app!

This app is wonderful for not only learning to follow directions but also learning the concepts of in, out, over, under, on, under, in front and behind. The directions are spoken clearly and the pictures are colorful & inviting. You can customize how the user interacts with this app making it very specific per person. I can see the benefit of this app in speech therapy, fine motor work and also for working on the wh questions with your child. i.e. what color is the dog?, where are you supposed to put that?, who do you give the item to?, and when would that happen? This is a versatile app that is worth the price and as far as I can tell, no real limitations.

Good but not perfect

I'm a mother to preschoolers who have just been tested for their IEP. I was very interested in the forms the testing took and the holes it revealed in their knowledge. One of the tests included how well they followed directions, located objects based on referential data (next to the purple car), and remembered multiple step directions. These are basic skills but my children were obviously developing them differently. This app is a basic version of what I hoped to find. Overall it helps their listening skills and works on some colors, positions, etc. I did find it not as polished from an "entertain the kid" learning game perspective. There's no flashy reward for getting it right. It's not obvious why some games ask for touching and others dragging (kids trying to carefully finger erase instead of drag and drop). I didn't know you could scroll through the right bar of objects and kept wondering why it asked for objects not on the screen. The random concept option obviously isn't quite random. Still, this addresses the concepts I wanted to work on, so great!

Love this App!

Love this following directions app! Definite plus that you have to click to get the next direction. This is useful when reviewing the direction with the child. You don't feel rushed because it doesn't just skip to the next item immediately. I had occassional difficulty when clicking the items requested. Many times I, or the child, would have to click it multiple times before it would register and allow you to drag it to the basket. It would also be beneficial to keep track of the child's correct vs incorrect responses on the screen or at the end of a 'lesson'. Overall, very impressed with this app.

Too vague

I like this app, BUT you request need to require a more specific response. Right now, color, erase and give all require simply dragging the crayon / pencil / item to a location. I had expected erase and color to require scrubbing the crayon or pencil, but they do not. It doesn’t even require the child to know the difference between a crayon and eraser! Close, open, push and touch all respond as correct for simply touching the item. No swiping involved. Please update and require a more specific response to count as correct. As a speech therapist, I want to know if the child actually knows these words and not just to tap on a picture.

Colorful, vivid art and animations against a white background combine to create a complete game experience without visual clutter. Sound effects and surprises keep the game engaging! This app is a great choice for a toddler/preschooler, or any young child who would like to practice listening to or reading directions! Included are ten concepts: Give, touch, open, close, top, middle, bottom, push, color, erase. Features include settings for data collection, individual (up to 75users) vs. group play, automatic advance or manual advance to next direction, touch/drag OR touch/tap option, text on/off, (to practice reading vs. listening) selecting specific concepts, and the desired level of play: easy, intermediate, and advanced.
