Inspirational.

New to music theory, but experienced in music, this app gave me the tools I need to learn more. The visual of the square, hexagonal, and vanilla piano interfaces astounded me at how intuitive they were. Love the app, wish I could buy the premium but I can’t... Anyway, I can offer only praise!

Great app - one thing missing

The app is great! The only thing that didn’t work For me was the Bluetooth midi connection (lightning cable did though). Other than that, I think maybe adding the octave to the base note and the highest note would be helpful (C4 instead of just C). But other than that it’s creative and fun

Surprising high quality and expressiveness in a free app!!!

I just want to start by saying I own GeoShred Pro and some SWAM instruments which I thoroughly enjoy. Going into my experience with expressionPad my expectations weren’t too high. After just a short time exploring the app I was pleasantly surprised by its expressiveness and usefulness. I haven’t experimented with controlling MIDI for other apps yet, so I can’t speak to its connectivity, but with an app like MIDIflow or Audiobus3 it is easy to see it’s potential. Obviously you can’t change real time parameters as intensely as you can with Geoshred, but the ease of use and expressiveness goes a long ways for music producers who are trying to capture interesting and unique sounds on iOS. 5-stars for sure!

Causes strange distortion on my digital piano

I like the layout of this app on my iPhone in portrait mode because it instantly shows 5ths in every key.When I press notes quickly with midi out, my Yamaha digital piano distorts. Also, the range of notes cannot be adjusted. Otherwise, it is one of those apps that brings out new melodies and harmonies because of the ease of playing certain intervals.

Don’t like Traditional keys for MIDI? Try this….

Love this app. While many improvements can be made to any app, this has exceeded my expectations. Think of this like a way to use midi on your phone in interesting new ways. The built in synths are fine and all, but this really shines when I send MIDI to something else, like a Volca, or a piece of software. It’s just a cool controller option, if you are bored with, or simply don’t like traditional controller options. Well worth checking out!

Real good...got a short wish list, though.

Excellent pitch control. Settings go deep. Similar to many other apps but has some uniqueness, too. Interesting internal sounds. Weird synth, strange but fun.Wishing for another LFO and Envelope with more assignable destinations. Cries for assignable Y-axis control for things besides volume ( it only recognizes initial vertical touch location; currently no slide control). Other destinations like timbre, filter, LFO speed and/or depth, etc could greatly enhance the expressively. Last updated a year ago...might have been abandoned?Still a great instrument and controller.

Perfect plus some!

This is crazy for free. It's functioning as well as I hoped and the internal synth and piano are great for getting rolling. The tuning options are incredible and I think I saw a Chapman Stick tuning! There are split tuning with 5ths and 4ths and many more. The actual pads are responsive and just feels right (for fretboard layout). There is so much more here and I'm guessing it all functions well. Cheers.

I love it

I don’t know much about synthesizers, I just like the sound of square waves. This app lets be to that and much more. I’ve even played the opening to the star wars theme on this. (It sounds great with the sampler set to stringpad) I have had a few problems like the audio cutting out, but other than that I’ve had fun using it.

Missing support contact and help fails

The app works ok. Mostly. I wanted to change latency to 512 from 1024 but it changes it right back. I wanted to find out why, but when I press help, I get an http screen that says “This connection is not private”, and the only choice was to close the page. Then I went back to the App Store and clicked on “App Support”, which took me to a web page that didn’t have a way to contact support. Support? Manual? How can I get the answer to the question about changing latency? Give me a way to contact you or a valid help page so I can answer a question, and I’ll consider upgrading my review.
