Best Kairosoft game in a looooong time

Bought a few kairosoft games here and there after playing game dev story. A few of them stood out, but more often times than not the gameplay is either super stale, slow to progress, or both. I bought dungeon village 2 after being disappointed with boxing gym story and man what a complete turn around on quality. Enjoying this much more than their other recent games.

Lots of Fun; Limited content

I really enjoy the game at this point I’ve five stared my first town and am ready to move on to my second. I’ve really enjoyed the game so far but my only concern is longevity while there are still quite a few unlocks the end seems clearly in sight and I’m not sure how much more I’ll get out of the game. That said though it’s a great time waster and is well worth a try if your into city building type games. Also other than the initial price on the game there’s no pay to win features which is very nice.

Exceptional game worth buying

I’ll keep this short and simple, after reading a few other reviews I knew I wasn’t going to waste money on this game, it’s a simple game easy to learn and has no penalty to taking your time building your town or leveling characters. My only regret was stacking all of my early items in my main character and not spacing them out to others. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that like rpg town simulators.

Endless Fun

I really enjoyed the first version of this game, and the second version has added great mechanics that expand the game and make it all the more fun without taking away the basic concept.I love watching my adventures automatically go around and fight. I think this is one of the most clever game mechanics I've seen. With the addition of monster pets, new buildings, new events, town traits, I am just having a blast. This game is great, clean fun for all ages. It's excellent for casual players and min-maxers as it is really easy to pick up where I left off, and the job system plus weapon upgrade system adds great depth. All in all, solid game. There's nothing I can think of to improve it.

This was fun.

Like it is cool but there are a few problematic and game breaking mechanics that kill saves. I got tired of restarting my game after the fifth time. I don’t understand why they would add a sleep mechanic that would make the target sleep forever. Plus for whatever reason the sleeping target can’t be targeted and attacked. This will make the mission impossible to finish. On a side note. If you change your characters to a class that doesn’t use a weapon. You lose that weapon. And after you change them back to a weapon wielding class they start without any weapon. Sometimes your characters will somehow path-find themselves in a corner or some gap and get trapped. They will sit there forever if you don’t notice them. And even though there is more I don’t have time to go through each of them. I will just mention one more. There are way too many in game notifications. And the whole game stops when one comes up and you Have to click it to continue. Sometimes I found my self playing on my 15 minute break and realized I was not able to do anything else the whole time because I was just clicking through notifications the whole time. Like I said it was fun at first but quickly became tedious and annoying really quick after a short while. I am glad it didn’t cost me too much money to find out.

Amazing

The improvements from DV1 to DV2 are glaringly obvious. There’s more content and gameplay options. However, i have a few suggestions. It would be nice to not have to bring hunters with you when you visit old towns. it feels like a big, permanent decision when it should really just be checking in; brief and simple. also: the constant alerts when something happens (like a hunter reaching level 10) are constantly pausing the game. it would be nice if it appeared as a mini pop up at the bottom (similar to the magic cauldron finishing boiling). it gets pretty annoying tapping through the notifications.

Love these games

I have been a fan of Kairosoft games for many years. I have played through the original Dungeon Village several times so my expectations for Dungeon Village 2 were very high, and Kairosoft delivered. Dingeon Village 2 is everything that the original was just more. They didnt try to make a completely different experience which I appreciate. Everything I loved from DV1 is here. DV2 really adds a lot more flavor to the game via more monsters, jobs, shops, and items. Excellent work as always by Kairosoft.

Help I Can’t Stop Playing

Everything about this game is rewarding and fun.You are the mayor of a fantasy village. You’ll host adventurers who need an Inn, Weapon Shop etc, on their way to kill monsters on the outskirts of town, explore dungeons, and take down bosses. Give them gifts to increase their satisfaction, and they may just ask to move in.As you learn to play, the game rewards you for exploring new features. There’s no deadline, and you can’t really do anything wrong. Buying this game is well worth the money because there are no pay-to-get-more features, and everything is straightforward and streamlined.

Somehow, worse than the original

I was very excited when I saw there was a sequel to the original and downloaded it immediately. Firstly, it’s more of a re-release with a few new features than a sequel. To their credit, they do seem to have fixed a lot of bugs that plagued the first version, but thats where the improvements end.Incessant notifications mean you spend more time waiting for unnecessary prompts to leave the screen than you spend playing. There is no way to turn off these prompts or even minimize them so they don’t slam the brakes on your gameplay every 3-10 seconds (Not an exaggeration. Many prompts make you wait through multiple notifications before disappearing). They give you less time to actually play the game (10 years as opposed to 16 in the original). And villagers now use items in battle which takes time and often causes them to get killed. I regret this purchase.

Adorable and addictive

This super cute game is perfect for the casual player. There are multiple areas, so you get the hang of it after completing the first area and then the rest is smooth sailing. You can play in English or Japanese, and the Japanese character names are full of cheeky puns. The end of each area can get a little repetitive if you aim for 5 stars on each one, but that is my only criticism. Worth the $$!
