Bugs

Update: Can’t save images still and now getting logged out all the time. Trust this device doesn’t work either. Find another solution as ConnectWise purchase of this company is sledding downhill fast with this app. Bugs galore. Can’t save images (hard crash), can’t switch to another program and come back (SC hard crash). Unmanageable UI that plagued with accessibility on device like iPhone and don’t scale for things like iPads.No updates since they were bought out. Since the buyout I have only seen huge price increases and more bugs. Bailing on this tool.

Behind other apps on IOS

We’ve been longtime ScreenConnect customers and its limitations on IOS in the past were excusable. Now that IOS can support mouse input natively, there is no excuse not to allow a native mouse mode. Additionally, keyboards attached to an iPad are not auto detected and you are forced to press the mouse icon every time you need to type something. Something is wrong with this scenario, as well as the dev excuses about an IOS limitation in similar review responses. Other apps work perfectly fine and support physical keyboard and mouse just fine. One app I can point out that works exceptionally well is the Splashtop Business app and I’m sure regular Splashtop works just fine too. We use Splashtop as a backup to ConnectWise Control so the dev should take note that they should really put some time into figuring this out. We like Splashtop a lot and I’d hate to make the full switch sometime in the future because they can’t get IOS input device support figured out. Our Splashtop Business account rep has already offered us a sweet deal to switch but we’re holding tight to see if ConnectWise can get this sorted in a reasonable amount of time. Splashtop Business isn’t a perfect solution either; however, they are light years better on IOS.

Doesn't work

I have already started a trial of the server product, which has some positives. But I can't make this app work at all. I can login with Safari in iOS, but this app doesn't do anything. This App is definitely a sales prevention tool from the full paid product. It will likely cause me to remove the product from consideration of the products I'm testing. Don't release an app just for the sake of having one.Edit. Not sure why your replying to a 4 year old review. I did eventually get the app working, if you can call it an “app” because it really doesn’t seem like it’s designed for mobile, even 4 years later. Overall I’ve been happy with ScreenConnect / Control, fortunately mobile isn’t a high priority for me.

[Update]Great product, terrible app.

With the release of the magic keyboard for ipad the fact that your app still doesn’t support mouse and keyboard natively is becoming a huge issue for us. I am removing a star because of the lack of updates to the functionality to the app. Really? Its 2020. There is no excuse that will justify how bad this app behaves with an iPad with proper mouse and keyboard support. Also If you need a reference just try and use the Jump Desktop RDP App or the Microsoft RDP app. Also the scaling of remote screens and how the app handles it is terrible. With this app the way it is now you should be ashamed of yourselves that you call this a production release.

Much Better!

Just putting this review out there since there seems to be a lot of non-technical people giving bad reviews.The new update for the app is fantastic! It’s much more usable now and they made a lot of improvements. Guest mode is awkward, but iOS made it to be awkward so there’s really no getting around that. The interface is much improved and the ability to move the cursor around without having to find your “mini mouse” like in the old app is great. I’ve always thought teamviewer had a great mobile interface and the latest update from ConnectWise has made their app very comparable as far as the control side goes. I wish the interface to connect with guests was easier to use. They place a webview in that accesses your screenconnect instance so they’re limited by web technology being a little clunky. If they made that mobile website version cleaner and more usable on mobile devices he whole experience would be a lot easier.Also, please make the session last longer after logging into the screenconnect server! Seems like I have to type my password every time I want to connect to a guest machine.

Latest update has a bug

Let me start by saying the app as a whole is phenomenal. I’ve been using it for years as ScreenConnect and it is an invaluable tool for me, my techs and customers. The latest update though has a major flaw/bug. Every time you exit out of a connection you’re logged out of the site requiring you to log back in. I thought it was just our’s but I’ve tried on other customer’s servers as well as on multiple phones. This is only happening on IOS though and not Androids.

No quality control

Connectwise has taken this awesome product and introduced bugs. Whenever they come out with updates, more likely than not they have broken features rather than fixed bugs. Currently there is a flaw whenever you send control+alt+delete, more often than not the remote screen does not refresh and you have to log off and then login again. Also, 30% of the time the remote screen will only show half of the screen. And to get around that, I’m having to exit the remote computer and log back in. No quality control.

The lack of proper mouse and keyboard makes this app better than nothing. There is no excuse, developers should look at how well Microsoft Remote Desktop app works. I know a company that the users use iPads over RDP instead of laptops. Please consider improving this app. You may not see a lot utilization via your analytics but I only use it as last resort, because it’s painful to have to tap the keyboard button every time you need to type. I’m on the go a lot and would be able to leave my laptop behind if i had decent keyboard and mouse support. It’s mid November 2020, iOS 14 has been out for several weeks, several apps have updated multiple times and the last update to this app is almost a year old.

Horrible!

This app is horrible! We have been asking for YEARS to have the IOS support fixed and NOTHING! You can’t even type with a physical keyboard on your IPAD with this app and the mouse support is barely useable. I spend about $750 a month to use this app with over 30 techs and the only reason I don’t cancel my subscription and go to another app is because the remote access speed is faster than anything out there for international support. Otherwise, I would have cancelled years ago. As soon as I can find a remote app with the same speed and features, I am going to migrate off this app. I am done hearing the years of excuses as to why they can’t make a good IOS app. Wake up - everyone uses IPADS with keyboards these days and the ONLY reason I can’t use my IPAD as my main device is because of this APP. Otherwise, I could use the IPAD for everything. I am done waiting for them to fix this IOS support. Again, as soon as I can find a suitable replacement, I am moving off this app. If this developer can’t build a good IOS app after 3+ years of everyone asking for it, then they aren’t going to improve the core apps either.
