Good but needs some improvements

I am just learning how to play bridge and use this app as practice. I wish I could get a few more hands in which I can do an open bid. Bidding is the hardest part of bridge and I get tired of having to pass so often. I feel the hints can be misleading and my computer partner often does not communicate as to what is in their hand during bidding for the contract. Just feel that I am playing defense all the time with very little offensive play. Yet, I still find this entertaining.

Great hand!

I’ve just been introduced to the game of Bridge. This game on my tablet has been very helpful in helping learn more about bidding. The hints are valuable and explain why one bids the way they do. Replaying a hand has helped me work on my memory, counting cards, etc. Enjoy!

Great app

I find the hands very challenging. I particularly like the hints because I can check myself as to whether I have chosen the correct bid.I do find that the hint section promotes an aggressive bid many times. All in all I like this app a lot!

Fun but not perfect

The computer partner sometimes takes your trick you already had then you lose because if it. Also, the computer partner will jump bid too high and you go down. The hints are not always good either. But, it’s decent entertainment.

Set up so your partner bids against you

You can start with a great hand, but this game is set up so your partner will aggressively bid against you. You can start with 3 ♥️. Your partner will bid 3 ♠️. If you bid 4 ♥️, your partner will bid 5 ♣️. And the worst part is, your partner has nothing. The whole point was to cheat you out if your win. And you have to play this lousy hand. Also, the default is, if you bid 1♠️, your partner will bid 2 , if you then bid 2♠️, your partner will always up it to 3♠️. And you partner never had anything to help you. Please get these glitches taken care of.

Best I’ve found for newbie

This app does not purport to teach you to play bridge. However, it doesn’t lock you in the errors for inconsequential things, the ability to replay a hand is key. Although I am a beginner, this app has taught me more than many others I have played.

Good ap—really a 4.5

I wish I could see the previous hand sometimes. I also would like an “undo” because sometimes I misplay or misread my turn. Sometimes the “hint” advice is wrong—my hand is miscounted so the wrong advice is given. But most of the time, it is great!

Improvement in play

I have a deeper understanding of bidding after play. I use to only play a very simple methodology; but , wasn't that interested other than passing time. Now I keep up pretty well with better players and only getting better. Thank you guys. I'll get some more cups of coffee coming your way.

Good app for beginners

I find the hard level of play challenging. If you do not like the hand you are given just go to settings and click on the close menu. It will take you back to continue game or start new game and you will be given a new hand. IMy partner does not always play so we can win. He ignores the signal cards I play instead of returning them in no trump. This app has improved my game though. Since I started using it I have won more rounds at my Bridge club. Great for beginners.

Great bridge app but…

I think this is my favorite bridge app. The hands dealt are fairly consistent with hands that would be dealt with a deck of cards. They are not weighted to either the opponents or your team. I haven’t used the replay feature, so can’t comment on that. I do, however, find it a bit annoying that one has to double tap each card that is played. A small price to pay for a realistic bridge game in an app…

Quickfire rules: After the cards are dealt evenly between four players, the players, in turn, can “pass” or bid the number of tricks they believe their team can win above 6 in any suit, or “No Trumps”. The bidding proceeds like an auction, each player in turn can make a higher bid than the current winning bid or “pass”. The player to the left of the Declarer makes the opening lead. Each player then plays one card in turn, following suit if they can. If they cannot follow suit they may play any other card in their hand, including a trump card. After a trick is won by the best card played, the player who took the trick leads the first card to the next trick. The aim for the winning bidding team is to take as many tricks as to at least win their contract. The other team is trying to win enough tricks to stop them. After the opening lead, the Dummy's cards are turned face up for every player to see. The Declarer in the hand plays both their own cards and the Dummy's. If your team wins the contract, you will play both the Declarer and Dummy hands. At the end of each round, the winning bidder's score contract points if they met or bettered their contract, or give “Undertrick” penalty points to their opponents. The “Rubber” is won by the team with the highest score after the first team wins two out of three games. The games are won when one team wins 100 contract points.
