I'm addicted

I've only completed the first two sets of puzzles, but I'm seriously considering getting the full version. I have noticed one fatal flaw, however. When you get the pop-up that asks you for an ad, you can just go to the main menu or reopen the app for it to disappear, preventing the need to watch an ad to retry. I don't develop games, but I'd just recommend storing a boolean value for each level that determines whether or not the ad is required to retry. Without this, it's like the winrar infinite free trial. Aside from that, wonderful app. I would give this app 10/5 stars if I could.

Pretty Interesting

While the game itself seems to be interesting and pretty fun, your ad system is broken. It seems it gets stuck on the screen where it asks if you want to go back to main menu, pay for the full game, or view an ad. The game will play in the background but no ad ever appears. I realize the full version doesn’t have any ads, but if a small glitch like that can get past the devs, who knows what lies ahead in the full version.

Amazing and sadly too short

I want more! Really good puzzles. Keeps you interested by adding more without getting into that repetitious and boring grind that a lot of puzzle games can do. I wish it was longer. Can we get updates of more to defuse? Can we get an update of a mode to make our own and give them to friends to defuse? Is there a way for the community to create ones that somehow get downloadable? Clearly I am not a programmer so I don’t know how to get these things out to others, but that would be so cool to create our own to test other people’s skills!

Perfect!

I’ve been hoping someone would make this game for years. There’s several “bomb” games on the App Store but none of the ones I’ve seen are like actual bomb defusing which is what I was looking for. This one is. You’re defusing/disabling circuits in this game in a realistic way. Cutting wires, following and shutting circuits down.Great job all around on this one. You can play around with the free version but this one’s worth your $.Buy it, play it, love it!EDITThe last update added some flickering to some graphics elements on iPad Pro 9.7. The game still play fine but it’s going a little sideways on graphics.Too bad you can’t do more than 5 stars on ratings. This is easily the best thing on the app store and this is coming from a guy that owns well over 1000 games and has been buying and playing them since the store started. This one ticks all the boxes for me. A funny additional suggestion...Adding a message that says something like “device (iPad or phone) erasing” if bomb isn’t solved correctly would have been a funny/terrifying addition, (similar to the trick messages in the game Eternal Darkness on the GameCube.)

Absolutely amazing

Although I am not an electrical engineering student, I am still interested in learning circuits and the like. This app comes as a perfect mix between educational introductions to circuits and relaxing enjoyment of playing games. Love the design- looks so professional and intriguing as if I am actually taking an academy specializing in bombs 💣 The only suggestion that I have is sometimes I got the bomb quiz right by luck (especially when I have a couple of moves left to disarm a bomb). This is fine to me, because again I know that I am no expert in the field. However, I would like an option that let me go back and see the complete and correct circuits that I have just solved with luck. It is just my habit, go back and restudy something I did not know for sure.I am purchasing the premium. Hopes the premium version will continue to be as amazing as the free version. Developers, please make more levels for the app. I have a feeling the currently available levels will not be enough to sate my eagerness and curiosity 😘😘Also, I searched the App Store and this app seems to be the only app that you made. Developers, when you make more apps like this (don’t have to be the same theme), let me know and I will be happy to play.

Amazing puzzle game

10/10 one of the best games I’ve seen of its kind. Easily worth the $3 for the full version. To the devs: One small thing of note is that the last bomb of the game has a really simple solution that lets you ignore thinking through the actual puzzle. If you cut wires 3, 6, 9, and 12 (counting from the top) you can just turn all 4 switches on and defuse the bomb instantly. I felt really clever finding this trick and it allowed me to solve the bomb on my first try (unlike some of the earlier hard bombs which took 2-3) but I think if you want the player to find the actual solution you should make those wires uncuttable. I personally like that you are allowed to outsmart the imagined “bomb designer” but thought I should report the bug

It’s such a fun game

With how much fun I was having I just had to buy the full version. However I’ve found a small glitch that isn’t allowing me to continue. The last level in feedback loops crashes the game every time I try to solve it. I understand that it’s an indie game I would just like to finish the game. But other than a few glitches, I would totally recommend this game.

Great implementation!

I learned more about electrical engineering, enhanced cognitive function, and had fun. The only obvious factor that seemed in realistic was the electron flow. The electricity was only shown coming out from the battery and never shown going back in or how that is important for electrical design. In theory in order to cut power from the detonator, couldn’t we just cut the wire going into the battery? I don’t know, but I wish you would teach that. Definitely misleading for people unaware of the basics of electrical wiring. Fantastic game.

Fun and educational!

Bomb Squad Academy is highly entertaining and a great way to learn about electric circuitry. There needs to be an option to start a new game. I want to start again from scratch. It does let me choose a previous level but the levels have no obvious name and their alphanumeric id is not obvious so it’s hard to know what you are selecting. When you re-enter the game it does not return you to where you left off but back to the last level of the game. This means you are likely to play it thru only one time and then drop it

Are You Still There?!

Such a wonderful game and a complete surprise. Paid for the full version - thank you!Another reviewer pointed out that the pop up you get when you successfully complete a level covers your success! I really want to study the circuit and see how it flows but you can’t.Two years since an update but I’d still love to see this change. Thanks for a wonderful game.

Description

Save the world one wire at a time with Bomb Squad Academy, a puzzle game where you have to defuse bombs under a time constraint. Analyze the way the electronic boards function and identify how to disable the detonator. Be careful though, cutting the wrong wire or flipping the wrong switch might just trigger the bomb.

As you progress through the game, you will be faced with increasingly challenging circuits that will test your ability to work through logic puzzles quickly. Identify the components, understand the connections and learn what makes the circuit work. Do it fast enough and you might just make it through. From the Press: “It also manages to achieve that bomb defusing essential – the moment of nervous uncertainty when you cut a wire, either leading to a sudden explosion, or the relief of simple nothingness.” RPS Recommented – Rock Paper Shotgun “Bomb Squad Academy is a refreshing, cerebral puzzler that might just teach you a thing or two about electronics in the process. That’s some cheap and easy knowledge right there.” Recommended – PC Gamer "I kinda wish Bomb Squad Academy existed way back when I was learning, because there are three areas we had to study over for six weeks when I was learning it, and this game boiled it all down to a 20-minute lesson with practical applications. This is a game you should be playing in a technology class and then taking a test afterward." 9/10 - Bleeding Cool News
