I have to give this a three stars
Ive been using this app for 5 months and I gotta say something. Pro: great to watch your print from anywhere Great to control printer Easy to request support Bambu lab store is on it too. Maybe: push notification from cloud upload? Idk. Cons: Will not notify push notification you. At all. I have waisted sooo much time when it thinks it sees a spaghetti issue. Or my filament ran out. On and on. So to sum it. It will not send a push notification. I dont know why it doesn’t have a push notification on what ever is going on. I primarily print from a micro sd card. Wifi/ cloud has been way too unstable for me.If they can add this instant 5/5 stars. The app is kinda pointless without notifications.
Smooth Responsive Interface!
The moment I installed the app I was enlightened to see how fluid and seamless navigation is! Zero lag across the app and 95% control of the printer. A couple MUST have features should be added * Print from Cloud/SD/Computer (if I can see the camera I should be able to start a print. .)* ability to “Delay Start” a print. Set a timer for a print to start in an allotted timeframe. *Ability to Turn off/on the printer or enter “Sleep”I’m excited to see the future of Bambu Labs so please don’t neglect the app because right now it’s a great addition to the X1 Carbon!
A decent start
This app overall works good. However, notifications are spotty. It appears you have to open the print and view it to receive notifications on it. I don’t like this, it should show me notifications all the time. I would also like to be able to start a print remotely with a file on the SD card. SD card management would be helpful too. So it’s off to a good start but missing many expected features after maturing for a year.Thanks to the devs. Hopefully we see some new features soon.
The Best 3D Printer in 2023
I was part of the first wave kickstarter. I have watched the software and capabilities update steadily over time. The Bambu engineers are enthusiasts like us and you can tell with the passion they put into addressing the feedback our community gives. Thank you!
I love it
Man, they’re on top of things, it could use some sanding around the edges but overall functionality wise it is awesome. Camera connects every time now. Being able to do all this stuff without heavily modifying an Ender or whatever is a blessing. I don’t mind doing hardware stuff but as soon as you introduce software and firmware modifications, I’m both lost and intimidated by the multitude of issues that can arise. Bambu fixes all that so you get everything in a excellent package. I specifically bought the x1c for the LiDAR and I’m not disappointed. The worst issues I’ve had are bed adhesion but that was mainly my fault (follow the instructions on their site!). Thanks Bambu! Can’t wait till you release a bigger machine! I’ll be jumping on it no doubt.As a side note that’s not really an issue but might help you guys out. When I have Bambu studio open on my computer watching the stream, if I open hearthstone it’ll disconnect the camera briefly as the game connects. It quickly reconnects but maybe they can do something with that info if others are having issues. Doesn’t like to share the bandwidth or whatever it is lol. Again, it’s a non issue just an observance.
Camera slowly loses connection
When I first turn on the machine, the camera works great but after so many hours, it barely connects 1/4 of the time. Not sure what’s up but they gotta fix this. My ring camera instantly turns on every time. Also downloading time lapse videos takes forever. I wish I could just store them through the app. Again, ring video’s always load instantly. I’ve been patient about this issue but it needs to be addressed… hope it gets fixed soon.
Switching Printers
The latest update fixes the issue where one would have to close the app when trying to switch camera views on different printers. Before if you were viewing the camera feed on one printer and wanted to view the camera feed on another printer the feed would not show/refresh unless you force closed the app. This has been fixed and an easier way to access Timelapse has been added. Great update so far.
important things are missing
It is hard to understand why simple things are not considered necessary. The landscape is essential. Or Bambu Studio needs to be available on the iPad. It is simple. I use a keyboard. And an expensive keyboard with my iPad it hold my iPad up! I can’t do this with this app; it turns sideways to portate mode. I know that you can let the software look like an iPhone on the iPad. This would be much better than forced Protrait mode. Why do I have to go into the store to see my orders? Searching and sorting models is not easy. For example I only want to see models I can print on the only printer I have the A1 mini. Pleas improve the app. Also I have a store order and not expect ship data and no way to understand whats happening!!! Not good. Also I have an M1 and M2 Mac and this app will not load correctly on either. Why, please fix the small stuff. They seem unimportant but thats not true!
Sounds great,if it worked
It rarely works,when it does it’s cool. But, it seems to only work for me if I’m sitting right in front of it. And even then it’s rare it works. It says offline 99% of the time.It’s just as bad as the bambu studio when it comes to connecting to the printer.The printer is amazing, I have the P1P.But it seems I have more failed prints than I do amazing prints.
Great App!
I love having the ability to always be able to monitor what my printer is doing, from the fan speed to the printing progress. I also like the push notifications for when a print completes. Because I like this app so much, here’s 2 suggestions:1) Ability to start prints from the app. This could be from the SD card or a file stored in the cloud or on the phone.2) Widget or live activity for printing progress. To access it from the Lock Screen or Home Screen widgets or even dynamic island.Again, great app, and I appreciate the responsiveness toward bug fixes. I’m excited to see where this goes in the future!
