AZMVD New Digital ID on iPhone

I simply uploaded the AZMVD app from the iPhone Store and then followed the prompts to add my drivers license. After two front & back photos of my drivers license identification card, and a few motion selected confirmation photos of my face it was done! I selected the most secured access and usage features, and then quickly confirmed everything inside of 15 minutes. That was it!! I recommend this new feature to all Arizona iPhone users!! Thank you so much AZMVD for creating a faster and more convenient way to share my drivers license identification card a thing of the past by having ‘everything’ easily viewable on my cellphone! Pretty cool!!

This is pretty cool do you have your drivers license picture move pretty cool I think a holographic 3-D would be a little better more realistic to the way people look because quite honestly they really look like their drivers license picture I know I don’t which would be something to think about having the license match the way the people actually look reason being if somebody were to commit a crime but they don’t they need the public to keep an eye out for individual motor vehicle picture easily brought up to view as the photo that everyone looks at but it’s not realistic anybody that looks like the drivers license picture I think definitely 3-D scanned images on peoples phones or you would be onto something better there getting yourself closer to total recall

Can’t get it to work on iPhone 12 Pro

No matter what I did I can not get the app to take a photo of my license on either side. It says there is a frame to put my license in but the frame never appears. The closet thing to the frame is a single white line on the on the left side of the screen for taking the photo, but no matter how hard I’ve tried I can’t take a photo of my license. I really like the concept of the app and would certainly use it. Please, please update the app so I can take a photo of my license on my iPhone 12 Pro. Thank you.I’ve since talked with two different people on chat and still get the same results, unable to detect AZ driver’s license. I believe they said they are bumping this problem up to engineering. Is there a way to manually enter the information into the app?

AWFUL!

I spent 30 minutes trying to match a dot on my phone screen using my NOSE! After 3 attempts, I gave up. I had already uploaded my information & photos of my DL to the Arizona MVD website via my Apple Wallet. After all of that, I received a text stating that additional authentication was required using this app! Totally ridiculous process. I had just been to the MVD to renew my license. I told the clerk in person that I already had trouble uploading my DL to my Watch. He was clueless to the app and the Apple Wallet. He was not alone. Before going there, I wasted time calling in for info about uploading my DL to my Apple Wallet. In all, it toile me 5 attempts, a phone call & a physical visit to the MVD to achieve ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! And I am very adept at the internet, mobile devices & apps. I feel sorry for anyone who may be a beginner with AI. But, right now, I’m over this nonsense. I’ll just keep my license in my ACTUAL wallet!

Missing iOS Wallet - Identity/License Card Integration

I love the idea. The way it is implemented currently is adequate. Sometimes clunky/oddly designed, but adequate. Unfortunately there is zero integration with iOS (including not working with iOS wallet app) at all besides running the actual application. So, instead of double clicking your power button and there’s your ID, you have to pick your phone up, show it your face or touch it or type a passcode to unlock it, maybe exit an app, scroll to the actual app among 1,000 other apps (not to mention there are other, similar looking Arizona dmv apps) and tap on it, wait for it to certify/load, tap a privacy mode, press share (or the produce barcode data button), and FINALLY show your massively inconvenient mobile ID to whoever is asking for it. Two clicks is much, much easier. The API exists. Please use it. :)

Pros & Cons

Pro: convince and very well may save you from getting a ticket if you do not have your physical permit / license on you, if you ever get pulled over - though working at a driving school here in AZ we STILL recommend our students to keep the physical copy on them at all times if possible. With that said, people think about their devices more than they would typically think of their wallet these days so I can see why this would exist in today’s society! Cons: scanning of your actual face glitches and took some time setting that part up. Personal opinion - this is great but we are creating a more lazy society by not relying on our brains and own personal decisions making or to remember basic things… I see it even in newer vehicles. I still choose to be mindful and be self efficient!

Good job.

I guess we were one of the lucky ones. Went to the local DMV. When we entered there were no lines was able to update our drivers licenses and get a new title on our vehicle which would indicate handicap. The lady at the desk was wonderful. She was more than helpful working through this procedure. I know it’s not always that way I’ve been going there for 50 years. Many times I’ve had to wait for over an hour. But this time we were able to complete our task in a timely manner. We did research what we need to have with us before we went. We had all the documentation that we needed which was very helpful. Good job this time.

No one accepts these…

I am unsure of the purpose of this app (data collection on users maybe?). It reminds me of a tech demo.I recently went on vacation and decided this app would be convenient, this was my experience:•Boarding a plane in AZ: TSA had no idea what the app was or how to scan it•Visiting a large, chain bar in the airport in AZ: Mobile ID’s not accepted because they can’t verify it.•Renting a car at my destination, at a large chain rental company in US: Mobile ID’s not accepted per company policy because they can’t scan them or make copies.And then when I arrived back home in AZ, my Uber driver got pulled over by the police for some reason and my ID was requested as well. When I pulled up the mobile ID, the officer told me I needed to produce a physical ID or I would be detained until my identity could be confirmed. He had never heard of or used the MVD ID app.So overall, this application literally failed me every time I used it. Not sure what its purpose is, but MVD needs to get everyone on the same page before saying that it’s a convenient alternative for ID. Deleting the app off my phone, as I don’t know what data it’s collecting while faking being an ID app.

Couldn’t Be Much Easier

I don’t usually rate an app one way or the other, but this is one that’s worthy. ESPECIALLY because it’s a “government” app. Regardless of who created it or whatever…I’m impressed that it’s easier more efficient & up to date than any other Local, State or Federal application in my experience. Admittedly I haven’t visited every one of them, however this one definitely was well thought out and easy to navigate to accomplish the several tasks on several occasions. Kudos to everyone who was involved in the implementation.

Completely aggravating I rather just carry my license

First off when taking the photos where you align the dots the instructions were unclear. I took about 20 photos and was rejected. Went to help chat and got clear instructions from a rep. This made the photo a snap. So I get the mID sorted out and go back to the AZDMV to finally get license added to wallet. That site then puts up a an image that it says must be scanned to add license to wallet. I doesn’t make sense to scan except with mID app. I login to that app and it has a scan option. When I select that it says use to scan image on site you are interested in. But how do I do that? If I switch to the window with the image the mID is hidden. lf I show the scan image the mID is hidden. So I’m sure I’m missing something as there are many good reviews. Here is what really jacked my jaws and led to me deleting the app: I tried over and over to use the help chat to see what part of the process I was not understanding. I would start inputting the info they asked for and the app would switch back to logging me in. It did this over and over. Then I thought I would use email. When I tried to do that it said I needed to set up an email to contact them.This is a very shaky operation as far as I can see.
