Can’t color and shade + Zooming out + Can’t draw on the whole thing

So, on this app I can’t color or shade. Let me explain. I want to color and shade with color on my character. But, when I use the bucket tool on the layer 2 (the layer before layer 1 which is the layer my character is on), it treats it like a background. So I have no choice but to use the bucket tool on layer 1. Here’s the problem to that: When I want to shade with color, I can’t shade on layer one because I already have the line work on there so the color will go over the line work. But I can’t go on layer two because it will go underneath. I also can’t duplicate the frames. Now here’s where the zooming out is pretty broken/stupid. I zoom out to 100% and I can’t move the frame left or right so I’m basically stuck in one place to draw. I can’t flip it upside down, twist it, turn, etc. Also, you can’t color to the bottom. I tried to draw a line from top to the bottom, but it won’t let me with ANY brush. The only way you can do it is if you zoom in 500%Please help.

Very nice app, but audio can be tricky.

This app is very nice and easy to use. I love to animate on it because of all the brushes you can use and the good animating options available, but I personally would like to have easier audio settings and tools. Lip-syncing in animations or making animated music videos can be very difficult to do since you have to import the audio from files, and you cant change it after you’ve imported it. I feel like in order for this app to be fully “ultimate”, it should have an option to add and edit audio/voiceovers WHILE making animations. For instance, you can have an audio timeline that goes along with an animation timeline so you can hear your audio while you’re animating. So yeah. Developers, please work on this :/also plz make the two fingers for undo and three fingers for redo shortcut a thing. It’s very helpful.

Laggy and buggy

It’s a slog to use and feels clunky. You’ll be drawing a line and have it take a split second for it to register. Flipping between panels isn’t all that great either, It keeps getting stuck between the first and second panel when trying to click on panel 1. A prompt keeps popping up to tell me something about my apple pencil and then disappears before I can even read whatever non-issue I have. It’s a serviceable animation application, honestly it’s probably the best one on IPad, but it is in serious need of patches and work before it would even be remotely worth $20.

Premium No Longer - HARD PASS

This was previously a premium app that you could buy. Now, though, it’s chock full of in-app purchases and subscriptions. Literally zero difference from the free, standard version. Disgusting and shameful. There are tons of better premium animation apps available on the App Store - Folioscope, Animation Creator (the premium version), Flipaklip, etc.I see no reason at all to rent this app and waste money every month on it, when there are so many better options available for one single price each. To each their own but I refuse to rent my applications. Especially ones with so little changing and new content. Shameful.

Not sure what happened.

Hello! I realized you just came out with a new update, but I can’t access the app anymore...... I’m not sure if this is the update, but that’s what I’ve come to believe. I was able to use the app perfectly fine before I updated the app, and enjoyed it very much.☺️ the only reason I left a four star was because I can’t access the app anymore.What’s happening? Well every time I open the app, it crashes. I’ve refreshed everything, tried troubleshooting, and have had no luck. Can you fix this please? Or see what’s causing it! Much appreciated!

More and more broken with every update.

While animation desk is very useful, user friendly and capable, with every update it gets more and more broken until the point where you’re basically ready to break down in to tears. Nothing is debilitating quite like putting hours into a project, only for it to become irreparably damaged upon export. Frames deleted, duplicated, rearranged and more makes this unusable and infuriating. There was an update yesterday that supposedly addressed these issues, but now frames are becoming more jumbled than they already were, and deleting frames that took hours to draw. Extremely disappointing, and procreate 5 cant get here fast enough.

Good for beginners/amateurs

I have just recently gotten into animation, and drawing. I use it near daily, however, the lines will never seem straight, as you would see in professional software. There is no ‘flip’ option to be found, which I think should be a standard. If there is, then it is near impossible to find. Finally, even though this most likely will be fixed soon, there is no optimization for the 11 inch iPad Pro, which I use to run this app. I am aware that this iPad only released 3 days ago, at the time of writing this, but I feel that it should still be mentioned.So, if you are okay with spending a little bit of money, and are aware you won’t get something you would on a drawing tablet, this isn’t a bad app, for what it was made for, and it’s price. If you really don’t want to spend the money, the free version is more or less the same, just with less brushes. Just fix the optimization, and add a ‘flip’ option for selected areas, and this would be 5 stars.

Its alright but a few complaints

I like the idea and the program but the fill tool is a bit clunky because it auto fills everything instead make it like adobe illustrator draw where you hold it and if the shapes arent connected and closed they can’t be filled and this app is confusing to work with. The videos provided are confusing to say the least. Also another gripe I had with it are the brushes they aren’t plentiful enough in opinion.I also feel there should be more brush customization. Ex. A gradient brush that’s starts off dark and goes lighter I would give it. If these thing were improved/made better I would give it a 5 star rating.

Good but it could be better

I have procreate and the animation on that is bad because they way they do animation is by layer and not by page, So I saw this one for 20$ Bit on the expensive side think it would have a lot more stuff to it ,but I DO LIKE THE APP BECAUSE it copy’s the previous cel for the animation and makes it a bit easier to animate , it has LAYERS CEL PLAGES( witch means you can have the bottom layer ur ruff draft animation and have ur finished product on the top layer)Try the free version first before buyingONE MORE THING YOU CANNOT DISABLE FINGER TOUCH FOR DRAWING

Huge potential, but disappointing

Great interface for traditional animation mired by poor drawing tools. Important clean-up process is made difficult if not impossible as consequence. Lines drawn are extremely jagged/pixelated with any given tool (Don’t look at me! I am an atelier-trained artist with a very steady hand). The actual pixel resolution of the frames and stage themselves outside of their general proportions (4:4 / 16:9) is a mystery. It’s okay for (very) rough pencil tests and is suitably inexpensive, but it could use a better brush engine, and perhaps vector layers among other things. Looking forward to seeing the developers take this software further; if they research and steal from their competition a little more this could be an incredible tool.
