Laggy, but fun

This game does a decent job of capturing the essence of the original Zumba game. It is a little bit laggy on my iPad Pro, causing me to miss shots and seems to change the ball color on me while shooting. That’s a bit annoying. I’d like to be able to progress from puzzle to puzzle smoothly without needing to click on so many other screens first. A simple escape to main menu on the game board is sufficient. I don’t need to see my stats between games. I’m here to play, not look at stats. I had already mastered the earlier version of this game years ago before the App Store stopped supporting it. That was several iOS updates ago. Still this version has potential if they clean up the time wasting stuff.

So far so good

I like this game so far, though I’m only on level 1-9 and it kept bugging me to do a review. But honestly I haven’t come across anything remotely negative to say yet besides that, which makes this a great deal better than a lot of other games that I’ve downloaded and deleted within mere minutes. I’m not a young “gamer” type and i find this enjoyable, plus I haven’t been bombarded with any obnoxious ads yet even though I’m on 1-9. I’m just having a bit of relaxing fun, which is really the point of any good game, and i hope it continues. I’ll come back and re-review if it turns out better or worse the more along i go.

Zumbas revenge

Like the game a lot but screen/balls should be bigger for better enjoyment. But what is really annoying is the soundtrack that plays every time I win a level. Looked in settings hoping to find a way to turn it off-but the only option means removing all sound from the game. Also don’t get what the haptic setting is about. Turned it on, then off to compare. Seemed pretty much the same. This could be a new fav game of mind if the balls were bigger & you got rid of the victory song @ the end of each round. Til then, it’s just fair.

I love this game, but…

This game is challenging, yet very fun to play. But I can only give it 4 stars because the developers do not add new levels fast enough. They say they add new levels every few weeks, which is just not true. When they add new levels it usually takes me a couple of weeks to finish them. Then I go back to each new level to get all 3 stars if I didn’t the first time. That usually takes me a few weeks, because it is very challenging to get 3 stars, especially on EXPERT levels. And then I wait and wait and wait for new levels to be added. And I don’t even know why I bother trying to get all the stars, since you can’t use them for anything after about level 81, I think. Gems are useless too.

It could be so much better

I played the original game so much back in the day. Was excited to find this one. I love the lack of pop up ads. But the level of difficulty on some levels is absurd. Level 2-27 took me about 60 attempts over 3 days to finally complete. Tap shooting on your phone for accuracy gives a decent level of accuracy but some type of laser line would be helpful. Also the shop store only allows you to buy more try’s. You can’t enhance o you level of play for gems or coins then what is the point. I see the complaints of this prior but it doesn’t seem like y’all are making efforts to fix it.

Imposter

The game uses the name Zumba, but it is not. At all. Atlantisor? Why do I have character cards and power ups and gold and diamonds that do nothing? Not to mention, the gameplay is totally rigged to make you lose. The original game did not speed up and zoom toward the end the moment you get a combo, and then only provide 2 balls not fitting anywhere and forcing you to lose. You can also complete a level perfect first try and still get only 2 stars. Yet it takes 27 stars to get the bonus levels, and only 10 levels each section. So you basically have to play a perfect game to succeed. Not realistic.

Game mechanics are kinda bad

First off, you don’t get to hold down and aim, you just tap where you want the ball to land and it isn’t always very accurate. A dotted line that shows where the ball will land is pretty important in a game like this when you don’t have a mouse cursor to use.Second, there are levels where the shooter moves along a track. When you need to shoot at a certain angle, you tap on the track to move and adjust angle, but then when you tap a spot, the shooter moves to the spot you tapped, which ruins the angle of your shot. Really frustrating and makes the game not even functional. Besides that, if they made those two changes and removed the dumb big t**ty girl this game would be a great alternative to Zuma.

Could be great

This is a great game on the surface (though the implant laden princess is unnecessary), but it is rigged to make you need to buy more coins/gems / whatever other nonsense. As levels progress, the game is clearly set up not just to be hard but nearly impossible without buying rockets etc. There’s a difference between a hard level and a level designed to make you lose without using extras that, of course, ultimately require or strongly encourage the use of IAPs. I miss the days where developers made games to be as good as they could and then charged a fair price. The pay-to-win mode has ruined games like this. It’s unfortunate and will always merit low star reviews.

More crAPP

Great play and close copy of the original. But like most apps it’s not about creating a good game as much as making money. Seems it started with ideas that haven’t been realized yet, and don’t seem to be coming anytime soon, or ever. The game increases difficulty to a ridiculous point, and only offers 5 lives at a time. There is no enjoyment in waiting (or paying) to replay a level that is too complicated and expanded to visually fit on an older/smaller phone without blocking parts of the ball track, making the 5 lives last less than the time it takes to load the game.So close to a good game but really just another crappy app.

A Decent Bootleg

"Zumba," or as you will discover upon downloading it, properly titled "Antlantisor" (Genuinely cool! No shame in naming it this, yet I understand trying to attract clicks using a name so close to "Zuma") is a decent game for its genre so far. It requires a quick reaction time and processing. Most of the sound and music is ripped from other games, in games for the first zone i have noticed it is literally stolen from Fishdom (the original bigfish pc version, i dare not see the new mobile one after the ads) and the victory fanfare is a slowed down Ode to Joy much like after completing a level of Peggle Deluxe: It's like a weird amalgamation of nostalgia that doesn't quite belong there. All deliberation of bootleggedness aside, it's a decent game, and so far ads have not intruded upon my personal gameplay. May update this review as I get farther into it, but hey, free gems, whatever I'm gonna use those for. GG.Update: The coins are practically useless, I can't seem to figure out how to "buy and upgrade" the cards. Maybe that's just on my end, maybe I'm dumb.
