Great Customer Service, But Wishes Fees Were Not So High (MoonPay’s Fault)

I had a great experience with the customer service representatives at ZenGo. It took an abnormally long time for my order to get processed for some reason, but the customer service representative that helped me, Sam, throughout the middle of the night, was very reassuring and yet still took the matter seriously. Although there was no actual technical issue involved, the team of customer service representatives really still give me the attention and reassurance that I really crave when having to wait for something that is out of my hands.My only complaint at this point with the ZenGo is that MoonPay, the company involved with managing ZenGo’s fees and those types of issues, does charge quite a bit so it’s difficult sometimes to decide what I should deposit knowing that there is a lot of potential to pay higher fees if you make little deposits more frequently, which means you need to make a bigger deposit less frequently, which I am not always as comfortable doing. However, in terms of their customer service and the way you can chat one on one with someone when you are experiencing an issue, is a really positive point, especially for a more anxious person like me.

Probably a scam

When buying, I was faced with long disputes with my bank because they labeled the transactions as fraud (finding out why later). Once I get past my bank, I’m faced with waiting a minimum of 5hrs for the transaction to process with a transaction limit, so day trading is not an option. Once I wanted to sell, my “daily transaction limit has been exceeded” even though I haven’t added any funds or traded/sold anything else except that one deposit I made. A month later and I STILL am having the same issue, but when I contacted support, the only thing they said was they’re having problems right now and to use another method other than moonpay…..so you’re telling me you’ve been having issues with selling for weeks? That doesn’t sound right to me. And moonpay is the only way to sell, I spent 20 minutes trying to find the other ways but had no avail. Either a dev needs fired or this is a scam. Didn’t deposit much, so they can keep it, I don’t care anymore, I’m just worried this will happen to other people. If I could give a 0 star I would. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else like Coinbase or something.

ZenGo makes it easy!!

If you are anything like me then you will understand the title here! I’m new to the cryptocurrency world and I’m steady trying to take it all in. Lots of these apps with wallets and bitcoins and the blockchain, sending and receiving! I was quiet confused ! Then I came across zengo and it made it so much easier for me to understand. They also have a live help chat room with some very nice customer service working to help you at anytime! It really has made this new crypto world easier for me as I go! I’m constantly learning something new with it! Thanks ZenGo!

Promises more than it Delivers

I set up, sent my coin and got ready to exchange it for the coin I wanted to swap and was shocked not only at the fee involved there, but what it cost me to send my coins to this wallet (not that they charged a transaction fee but at how much it cost given the fact that I could not accomplish what I wanted to with their promised features), from my other wallet and then now, again back to my home wallet since I could not accomplish my desired trade nor could I seamlessly send money back to my bank account as promised. . . All in all, it cost me $45 to learn this lesson. I won’t be back. Even though I am leaving a fraction of my ETH in this wallet, as they told me to send too much . . .more than I actually needed to send my original coin back to my primary wallet. . . .all in all, not a happy camper here. Addendum: So it appears this chap thinks I am a newbie to the Crypto space for instead of the seasoned veteran I am. The point which he missed is that I cannot make deposits or withdrawals from their platform to my own offline bank as they suggest in their p.r. And they say that feature is “coming” in the future. As stated before, had I know that, I would not have wasted my time and money in their system at present. Hopefully that will change in the months and years to come but at present it is only a promise. Nada mas!!! 8-(P.S. Flippant and condescending with your users much?!? What a rube!

Easy way to use Apple Pay for crypto

The fees aren’t the lowest (but by no means unfair or overpriced) but the reason why I love this app versus Coinbase, Binance, etc. is you can use Apple Pay with this app! There is only one other app that lets you buy with Apple Pay (can’t remember the name - Google it if you’re interested, that’s how I found this app) but the fees here are better. Another big plus for this app is you can buy crypto immediately after installing with Apple Pay and (I think) with a debit/credit card too. I only used Apple Pay and had to provide very little information - took less than 5 minutes before I had a purchase pending. From there it took 10-15 minutes and the BTC is there! Finally, this app doesn’t gouge you when you want to transfer your coins to another wallet. Sometimes exchanges will charge higher than normal fees as a way to make additional money. Cost me less than $2 to send my approximately $160 worth of BTC to my cold storage wallet. Overall this app is great.PS: in all fairness, if you’re willing/able to wait for your coins - use Coinbase - they have the absolute cheapest fees for buying crypto but they have to verify you before you can start buying/selling. Transferred my BTC Easily and Quickly

I just transferred my BTC from Coinbase to ZenGo for the first time and the process was easy, smooth and quick. As soon as I completed the transfer from Coinbase, I received a push notification from ZenGo to let me know my BTC transfer was in a pending status. Within a few minutes it was verified and completed, and I could see all the transaction details (block #, height, size, fees, etc.) from Blockstream. I also had a question so I used ZenGo support via the embedded chat feature within the app. A rep answered all my questions right away and was super knowledgeable and professional. That’s what I call a very good customer service! I look forward to continue using ZenGo as my non-custodial keyless digits wallet.

Worst App I’ve used

So I used this app while mining ETH back in the day. Recently I wanted to diversify my account. So I went to sell my ETH to transfer to my already linked bank account. First they made me transfer my ETH to BTC and charged a fee I guess I can’t sell ETH on their site. Then when I went to withdraw my BTC I was told I had to use the moonpay site and link my bank account through there. No instruction just close this page and link account. So I signed up for moonpay even though I didn’t want to. Clicked around on the site for a few minutes and couldn’t find where to go. I ask ZenGo support for step by step instruction on how to get my money transferred to my bank which has already been linked to their site. And I get this response from Jacabo “please complete linking your bank account from moonpays website”. They didn’t even have the common decency to use capitalization and punctuation in there response. I ended up transferring my money to Coinbase and am closing my account.

Horrible!!!!!

Be warned, you can’t just put a little bit in his wallet, had a little bit of bitcoin, and try to transfer it out, and was denied because I need to have x-amount in there which is way more than I was going to put into it, also had Tether in here as well, as I needed to pay something, won’t let me send to another wallet without buying Ethereum to pay for fees…. Which they don’t even tell you how much you have to buy…. No other wallet or exchange that I know of does this…. Can’t sell or trade any of it either because you’ve got to have a large amount to do this, and no where do they mention it, so now all my Crypto in this Zengo wallet is completely held hostage until I can put away larger amount in to just simply get it out… As far as I’m concern is the total scam wallet….

Amazing

Had a few questions regarding the fees and support answered them in a couple of minutes of me submitting a ticket. Very polite and professional costumer service.(I talked with Carlos but I’m sure others are amazing as well) App itself is well designed and intuitive, only thing I would like to see in the future is dark mode. But everything else works fine. As soon as I transferred the coins from my Coinbase I got a notification on ZenGo saying I have a transaction pending, and as soon as it was confirmed on, the money was available in my wallet. Trust me when I say this, you will experience 0 holds and delays.If you are an entry level bitcoin investor, or just want an additional wallet to keep your coins in for a faster usage/purchase, this is the perfect app for you.

“Magic link” doesn’t work

I appreciate they try to make the UX easier by using magic link, but what if the link doesn’t work? What if it takes too long to receive the link? What if the email land in the wrong folder thus no notification? What do I do if I click the link and it doesn’t work?? All of the above happened to me and I couldn’t signup and uninstall the app right away. Especially for a crypto app, access to my account is a priority. I work in the mobile app industry and the magic link approach is already proved to be bringing more trouble than what the Ux designer think it benefits the average user. Replace your head of design with someone has technology background and able to make the right compromises. Never zengo for me.
