Skills Word Blitz
Pretty good game. One needs long words, seen quickly, and good digital dexterity to reach for the highest scores, which exceed 2,000. One can make money. However, 1) after fewer than 300 “pro” games, despite never reaching 1,600, I have been getting matched with players who top 2,000, which implies that it’s hard to find a wide variety of players to match in each skill band, and 2) in the bracket format, you may end up re-entering a tournament in which you’ve already been defeated, rather than a new one; the game doesn’t tell you. Would be good to have a few more game modes and price points, but there must be a broader player base and demand to justify them. This is the only game I’ll rate on Skillz; I like the words, but am far from elite at speed and accuracy in touch, so won’t try others.
Challenging but fun game
If you enjoy word games then you’ll love this app! It’s exciting, challenging, fun and you can win real money!! It’s run by Skillz so you can trust that it’s secure. I play several Skillz games and I’m a Black Tier member. You get get tons of perks when you reach this level and maintain it! Give this game a try. You won’t regret it!
About this interesting game!
I didn't enjoy this game but feel as though I am not fast enough to take the chance to lose money. So I keep trying in the area where are you just playing with the tickets and most of the time I am about even with wins and loses. Any advice on how to be able to be quicker so I can start to win money? I think the game is a lot of fun it helps me to make my brain seem to go faster. Remember any ways to go faster or appreciate it especially because my health keep a me in bed a lot and this game helps to pass away many hours. Thank you !!
Addictive
I love this game. It helps you spell without thought. I know way more words than you realize until you play. I wish they would bring the friend challenge back. I have gotten so many others playing for quarter more than any of the other games. Fast fun and intriguing
Too Easy To Cheat
As another user posted, they should remove the pause feature. The same players continually take longer to finish a game and with a pause it allows them more time to find larger words. They consistently score high, in the 1000s which is very difficult to do. The algo’s for “fair matches” is very questionable, I don’t see it. I can play a game and have no opponent, then right away play the same game for the same amount and have an opponent while the first game remains empty. Seems like my best games are against the worse players and my bad games are against the better players. Don’t play for money, it is designed to take it from you. Thankfully, I did not other than the bonus I receive at the beginning.
Unethical—Skillz and their joke of an algorithm
I absolutely love this game but this is another Skillz game and their joke of a platform ensures that once you attain a certain level, they keep many of your played matches in queue for hours and eventually dump them all at once to the same players who win non-stop. The result is consecutive losses, which wipe out your entire deposited balance. As another player posted, I look forward to an investigation and a class action against Skillz. This industry needs to be regulated so it’s not so easy for unethical companies such as Skillz to hide behind their so-called “algorithmic matching system,” which is nothing more than a scam. Further, customer support is the absolute worst of any industry and does nothing more than send the same condescending scripted responses. Absolute scam
Great Game!
No cheating in this one! Have played many of the Boggle like games and this appears to be the first one you really can’t cheat on which is awesome! Addictive competitive and fair game that challenges your vocabulary and brain to think quickly. Have been playing for about a year now and love it. Also has a group Chat that has a bunch of very skilled players that help the new players with their questions. Chat is also moderated to keep out waste comments or solicitations.
Constantly opponent matching issues
Love this game but it gets super frustrating when you have 6+ games all queued up waiting hours upon hours for opponents to be assigned. In the meantime you’ve used up your coins or cash and need to wait unless you want to deposit more. It’s also very unfair when you’re trying to do well in a league. I’ve seen myself drop 30-50 spots bec my games are not returning results in a timely manner. With as popular as the Skillz platform is, I fail to believe that there is no one else playing and think this just might be an issue with matching opponents after games have been completed.
Much more fun than boggle!
I like this game better than boggle! You have to think fast but you get to use whatever words are in the rack and disappear. There’s a bit of a board preserving element too! You can either get lots of short words or a few longer words and end up with a similar score. Try it!
User Unfriendly
Have attempted to communicate issues to the developer, but not allowed without email confirmation, which I never receive! Rules not laid out upfront, so I’m playing primarily for fun, hoping to eventually “get it”! Letters freeze up often, not allowing one to delete or advance, thus costing points! Words which I know are words, such as “kodiak” are not allowed (although some are subsequently allowed. Quite often, the fire keeps burning (often for hours),,forcing one to keep going until one is totally exhausted or forfeited the game (It’s listed as Aborted.) Therefore, one walk away after scoring over 75,000 points (as I did recently), only to lose a game to a person with less than 300 because the game board wouldn’t stop burning and, ultimately counted as Aborted. While I enjoy the essence of the game, these other factors tend to raise my blood pressure a notch or 2. Consequently, I will keep searching for something similar without the unnecessary headaches.
