monster hunter stories

this game is cute! it’s very similar to monster hunter stories in concept. However, this game definitely feels like its still in early access. some of the mechanics either aren’t fleshed out or aren’t accessible, and it’s unclear whether progressing the story will allow me to unlock them (things like utilizing mini-mons in missions or expeditions, the effects of training and leveling up mons, etc.). also, certain battle mechanics like dodge are janky at best and nearly impossible to use at worst. And things like enhancing characters or leveling up skills are not intuitive and also not very clearly explained. Also, every single unique character is locked behind their own separate paywall. this game is not gacha (which is fine with me), but i’m not willing to pay $20 for a four star character. i think switching to a gacha system where the currency needed to roll can be bought for money would be a better system, and if needed certain map areas with unique monsters could be locked behind a paywall as dlc, i think that would make more sense than the current system. overall, the game is worth a try! i’d just maybe like to see a more workable UI (it shouldn’t take me forever to figure out where i can view all the mons currently housed in my farm) and more robust mechanics, along with a currency system that makes more sense for the players. Given how new this game is, i think it’s really promising and i’m hopeful for more updates soon!!

Volzerk- Not a Gacha!

Finally, a legitimately fun game that isn’t a gacha where you need to spend 2000 dollars just to unlock one hero!Want a specific super rare hero? Just buy them directly!Gameplay is fun and engaging, overall great game!

Good potential

Hilarious script worth reading and memorable monsters. Loading screens are a bit annoying but a small hinderance to an overall enjoyable game

Storage issue

Game is great but one issue is that monster and mini mob storage is capped 200 and there is no way of upgrading. I am certain that I am not the only one that is experiencing this frustration especially people in the late game

Adventure

This game brings loads of adventure !! One thing I really would like you guys to add would be multiplayer boss raids , where we can team up with other people online vs new and old legendary bosses to farm xp and to farm the legendarys too , one last thing I would say would be to add daily bosses so older players don’t get bored ❤️ overall amazing game so far , I just hope u consider what I said !!

Language Option

For those wondering about the language (I’m still going through the tutorial), I picked the US server and my language defaulted to English. Once you get control of Fina you can click the map and change languages in the option from Japanese to English. This seems to be fully translated! Runs well so far, really neat game that I was not expecting to be released. This is basically free to play Monster Hunter Stories.

Bad start design

Before you can play you have to enter your date of birth. Scroll through two terms of service just so you can press accept ….aaaaannnnddd then you have to agree to them collecting your data so they can sell it to a third party. Delete this game so fast will not even give the gameplay a try.

Love it but…

The graphics are beautiful and the mc is fun in that her brain has no thoughts except monsters, and it’s hilarious. The voice acting is also great, an the combat system is decent. What l don’t like is that sometimes the movement feels a bit clunky which i feel is due to the camera auto locking on the boss so say I want to run pass a moumon, I can’t exactly see where I’m going cause there’s no way to move the camera away. There’s also this huge paywall that other people seem to have a problem with, most of the characters are locked behind a huge paywall so if you want to play a 3 or 4 star character, you have to spend real life money. I don’t mind it to much because the game gives you one 4 star free of charge and compared to other games I’ve played, the paywall isn’t that expensive. The tutorial also honestly isn’t that great and I had to figure out things on my own.
