Best app on the store at the moment. It's got all the functions that Fahrinfo lost with its latest update. You can search by address, click for earlier or later results, you can see departure times by station (extremely useful with buses since they almost always don't stick to the regular schedule), all maps are there, u-sbahn, tram, 24h, potsdam. Walking maps are there as well. And it even has some improvements over the Fahrinfo app, for example the departure times also show the real departure time right beneath with green/yellow/red fonts depending on the delay; and you can see the complete itinerary with all the stations you'll be passing by so you can make sure you are on the right track.Only things they could improve: add the "graph" view so you see all the itineraries side by side by time and not just as a list. And add the stations maps, so you know where the h the TXL or 200 bus depart from at Alex or at the Hauptbahnhof, if Fahrinfo updates and brings back that functionality I might go back to them. But all in all, best app so far! I might even stick with it even if Fahrinfo updates...unless they being back the station maps...then that'd be a dealsealer.
You cannot register unless you have a German number. (Activation doesn’t work) so if you are a tourist, you better buy your ticket from a ticket machine instead. Also, ironically, the app asks you to permit access to tour contact list. Why is that??
Can’t add payment method. Can’t buy tickets.
There is a function to buy an online ticket but it doesn't work. When you click purchase the app just infinitely loads. Better off using the DB app.
It’s like night and day compared to BVG app (which I ADORE!). Why can’t they learn from BVG?
The function to buy tickets is broken. The app wants to send a “pin” to you via SMS, but it sends it to non existent numbers for non German phones. Instead of being secure, it is broken. Use the BVG app instead, at least you can buy tickets on it.
The app now requires an account which you can only obtain with a German phone numbers. That’s incredibly rude to tourists and anyone else visiting. Might I say racis....
VBB is my preferred booking app for Berlin-Brandenburg service!
The App works fine and the ticket was cheaper than buying over Deutsche Bahn. However, VERY IMPORTANT to know that tickets can’t be bought in advance & must be used within 4 hours of purchase. This wasn’t totally clear to me, despite the „please mind“ and „ok“ that has to be clicked before purchase. So, I ended up buying a ticket the night before my trip that I couldn’t use. Thankfully, the VBB Mitarbeiter were helpful & friendly and following an email exchange, I was reimbursed for the unused ticket.
This App requires access to your contact (why?). In order to buy ticket you must provide not only phone number but as well DOB (why???). This app collects all important info about single person. I hope they protect their customer data!
