I like this game. It isn't the hardest point 'n click game I've ever done but that's fine. The story was ok, though not particularly involved or important to gameplay. The puzzles were fine--mostly mid-level or on the easy side--which is fine because I wasn't looking for a huge challenge at the moment. Length was decent, though wouldn't have minded if it was a little longer. The fast travel ability is very nice to eliminate most of the tedious moving between scenes. The only "issue," if you can call it that, is that, because clues/items are so spread out, it makes it somewhat difficult to remember which scene to go to use a given item or clue. Overall opinion of the game if good, though.

Worth waiting for

I always liked The Lost Ship, played it a number of times, but as others have commented it was already finished just as I was getting into it. Too short. This newest version adds another island, reachable by canoe, and a fort just down a short path from the ship (which no longer factors in this second half of the extended game).I have to say that the new locations are beautifully rendered and fun to traverse. The new puzzles are more challenging and unique than the existing ones. There are a few that I solved only by accident and would not have been able to solve on my own because of a new (to me) arrangement of the clue icons across a horizontal surface. Even when I had the puzzles “solved” (by accident) I still could not make head nor tail of the cryptic clues. Aside from that, this puzzle adventure app runs smoothly and without a hitch. A mature child could play and enjoy this game, perhaps with the aid of a savvy grownup, or a modicum of luck. The people at Synchrony are VERY good at this kind of thing, and from what I’ve seen, probably the best.

Simply a must-have

Syntaxity,Since finally trying Blackthorn Castle last year, I was thoroughly impressed by the lack of glitches, smoothe gameplay with a functional and easy to use User Interface, explorative setting locations, challenging yet not too difficult to beat, quality graphics, realistic style, sound effects and music as well as the adventurous nature of these games. One after the other, I tried each game and delightfully found the same satisfaction in all (current) six. Then, you released your bountiful update for the Lost Ship, which was originally much too short. Now seeing the pattern of adding similar updates and extra content, in order of original release, I eagerly await more to be released. If I had to describe these games, in as few words, I would say they are honestly must-haves and instant buys for this genre. If a new game were to be released, I would buy it as soon as I found out about it. Having them all up to now is not enough because they are so satisfying. But there's more.I discovered an interesting alternative to their replay value. Sure once you play them you might get tired. I liked Blackthorn so much I kept replaying it, but with an unexpected challenge I put to myself. Memory. I've repeatedly played them several times each as a way to stregthen my memorySo, I look forward to each new game/additional content Syntaxity releases. To be honest, you couldn’t release add-on or new game content fast enough.Thank you.

Pleasant Puzzling

If you like point and click puzzlers, the Lost Ship should prove satisfying. The puzzles are mid-range in difficulty, and there are solution hints scattered around the game (and, as with other Syntaxity games, always keep an eye on dark wall patches, loose floorboards, and the like for clues; it’ll save some frustration). The puzzles are plentiful, but be prepared to do a lot of backtracking and wandering if you don’t want to spend the money to upgrade to the “fast map” feature. Overall, if you like this genre, this is a decent way to spend a few hours.I like the Syntaxity apps. While they’re not at the level of the Room or House of DaVinci games, they scratch the puzzle itch just fine. If you’re new to Syntaxity, I’d recommend The Enchanted Worlds or The Mystery of Blackthorn Castle.P.S. I take it from older reviews that this game used to be pretty short. It’s apparently been updated, and now the map is just as large as it is in the other games.

Good but SHORT

This is a good intro to the Syntaxity games if you want to get a better feel for how to play these games. The other games are much longer and I played them first before I played this. Definitely recommend all the games but start with this one, the puzzles are challenging, but this story is a bit lacking for me. But being that it is shot, it gives a good intro to how they they set up and structure their games. All if them are very similar in style and puzzle, so once you get the hang of one, the others will be less challenging.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Syntaxity I applaud you. There are very, exceedingly small number of games that 1. Assume intelligence; 2 yet still have hints should you get stuck, which means your’e not forced to abandon the game because something alludes you. 3 entertaining puzzles which are fun & difficult to stop.Thank you Syntaxity for the update also. I have all of the adventures & download them again.. I await with childlike glee any new updates or adventures.A fan of your work and player of all the games: Candy

Quite entertaining

Simple to begin with. Easy enough to start out and get you hooked. As you get further into it, the clues become more challenging. And intuitively, I could deduce that I would need a clue or tool to go ‘there’. Just have to find ‘it’As always, it can become difficult to remember WHERE you saw’it’ so that you can return there. The quick travel was extremely helpful. And the clue hints also were appreciated-go to scene 35 and look for a clue.Had a lot of fun. Thanks

A bit longer now.

As others have written, this is a short game. I got it when it was free, so I can't complain about the price. In any case, if you enjoy this genre, there are good puzzles, one leading to another. I would recommend it.This is a revised review as the game was expanded. More puzzles. Still enjoyable. Clues are helpful and don't give away much. Mostly they just point you in the right direction. Keeps you from getting frustrated while not solving the puzzles.

Just put fast travel into the game

Seriously, just make fast faves free. Annoying your players with tedious running around in the hopes that they pay to remove the annoyance is... well, it bothered me enough to put it into the review, for sure. Otherwise, it’s a standard point and click, some of the clues are obscure but the play through wasn’t buggy. Lots of running place to place to use items, more than real puzzles. And again, a few of the puzzles had solutions that made no sense. But the worst part by far is the lack of free fast travel, which is a standard feature of most games that don’t have an easy central hub.
