I hate this app

It's not what is advertised. First, it didn't go off. I luckily had set another alarm just in case and got up in time to start my day. Over an hour later in the car, I opened it to see if I'd missed something, and it started going off and wouldn't stop (which it's supposed to do). The thing is that it doesn't "count your steps." It arbitrarily counts down and took over a minute to shut up, all while making this stupid sound at top volume on the street. I don't know anyone who takes over a minute to walk 30 steps except maybe toddlers, who don't hold truck with cell phones. So, if the app does indeed need to be open all night (and probably burn up a bunch of data while it is), the darn thing should actually have real instructions OR not go off the second you open it when the alarm should have started an hour beforehand OR actually have an accurate way of counting your steps. It should also have a "save" option when setting the alarm--it took me several minutes to figure out that the only way to save is to hit "cancel" so that a dialog box comes up that asks if you want to save...and that's just stupid. To sum it up: I hate this app and wish I hadn't wasted my money on it.

This app is so annoying! I love it!

I hate mornings. I mean I really hate mornings. It's very easy for me to shut off an alarm and turn around and go back to sleep. I'm not talking snooze, I'm talking shut it off and go back to bed. This alarm clock is amazing! It makes you take a certain amount of preprogrammed steps before it will shut up. You can't fool this thing… I've tried! I've tried shaking it, rocking it, mimicking footsteps, but none of that works. Unlike most exercise apps that you can fool by shaking your device, this will not be fooled! I have this set to make me walk 20 steps before it will shut off. For me, this is the perfect distance from my bedroom to my coffeemaker, and my coffeemaker to my washroom. This app is great and it has so many features! Full disclosure, I never would've bought this app. It was featured on one of those free up a day websites and I tried it out. I'm very fortunate for that, so I tell a lot of people about this app because I figured it's the least I can do seeing as how it's wonderful! Also, they ask you to write a review to use certain backgrounds for free, I don't have a problem with that so here I am. If you are not a morning person, if you can't get out of bed in the morning, check this app out.

Love it already! **Updated**

**Update- Dropped from 5 to 3 stars. I did love this app, but now it lets me snooze over and over no matter what the settings are. I wake up with the phone on the pillow next to me and I've been snoozing it (for 1 hr 45 mins this morning) :( Something has changed**This is only my first day to use it, but I love it already. I normally hit the snooze button for up to 2 hours with having to get up to my dresser and just can't get up. I'm awake first thing today. I used the option to take a photo of my coffee maker out in the kitchen. Because the big light was on for the original pic, my little light was not enough for a matching picture, so by the time I walked out there and had to retake the pic with the big light on, I was awake. And I set the coffee maker to auto, so I filled my cup with the fresh brewed coffee while I was there. This is a great idea for an app.The only draw back is no instructions with it, but I googled instructions for the app and found a pretty good overall review that told how to use it. Make sure you go in to the main app options as well as the ones to set alarms. And you can disable preset alarms if you are off schedule. Just swipe down on the set time and it will change to disabled or back to enabled. And you can set multiple ones, more than just the three at the bottom. Happy waking!

IT WORKS

Only download this if you're actually ready to *CHANGE* your sleep/wake habits (I know from experience it's no easy feat, so kudos if you're at this point). I have a condition called Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome which is beyond frustrating & isolating (short version, if you've never heard of DSPS: it basically prohibits me from doing any daily life activities like job/relationships/exercise etc. when the rest of the world is awake).W/ this app, you can't just easily turn the alarm off like you can w/ a regular alarm clock (you'd have to completely shut your phone down, & the minute you turn it back on, the alarm starts going where it left off, loudly). For me, what makes this app more effective than others, is that it *PHYSICALLY, MAKES ME GET OUT OF BED* - the alarm volume (it's loud, but not deafeningly so) can't be lowered, nor turned off, UNTIL I've walked 30 steps (can also be set for 10 or 20 steps). There's also an option to take a picture of where you want to "step to" - for example, if you take a pic of your shower head, the alarm won't go off until you're in your shower. This app has helped me & I hope it helps you too, especially if you're tired (no pun) of missing out on your life!

So far so good! UPDATED

UPDATE 2: I've also noticed you can turn the power button off too to bypass the alarm. If this issue and the vibrate one were fixed, I think this alarm would be flawless. Also needs to be updated for new iOS.UPDATE: So, I've discovered a very big flaw in this alarm. If the alarm is going off, all you need to do is flick the switch on your phone to vibrate, and then it will just send you little notifications which vibrate once each time. Very easy to ignore and sleep through. So, instead of it waking me up, I just turn it to vibrate and then keep sleeping, because I don't even notice the notifications. This is something that needs to be changed as it is a loophole too easy to take advantage of. Also, I agree with others that the sensors need to be updated. As long as I've been using this app (which is admittedly not too long), it has really helped me to wake up! It really is the stepping that gets me up and moving to the point where I feel like, "Why bother going back to bed?" I've been so productive since I've been getting up bright and early. Great app and I look forward to more early morning thanks in no small part to it.

So far, so good

Like probably everyone else trying this alarm, I am a snooze addict and make every excuse to not get up in the morning. I used to have two alarms going off every couple of minutes and I would still manage to snooze for an hour or more. I've been using this app for a couple of weeks & so far it is getting me up and I cannot find a way to cheat it!I have only two complaints. One is that setting the alarm itself is a little confusing. Make sure to check whether you allow a snooze option and make sure you have made your alarm active. My second complaint is the bigger one - this alarm does not work if your phone is on vibrate until you have unlocked your phone. I actually almost missed a flight last week because I didn't realize I had left my phone on vibrate. Yikes!! This is something I make sure to check now. (The problem is not having your phone locked, as some people have commented.)Also, I read some comments that the step counter does not work. It has worked perfectly fine for me - make sure you hit the button to tell it to start counting your steps first!

I'm so confused!

Wait, wait! You're an alarm clock that doesn't have an alarm to wake you up! That doesn't make any sense. Your little music will play once and then immediately go to snooze when I unlock the phone. But once snooze is up, the only way you try to wake me up is by sending me silly little text messages, which of course I don't hear when I'm asleep. In order to actually hear my alarm I have to manually tell you that I up before taking my steps. But I shouldn't have to be up and actively working in order to make my alarm go off! Give me the option to snooze once or twice, and then make my alarm go off with actual music that won't stop until I get my steps in. I shouldn't have to press a certain button in order to make this happen. You have a fantastic idea but some serious kinks to work out. Also it is rude to ask paying customers to review their product in order to use certain features only minutes after downloading this app. Give people 2 to 3 days to find out if your app actually works, which it doesn't seem to, before reviewing. Also your website is in need of serious assistance. I had high hopes for this app but it simply doesn't work unless you're already awake. Pretty much pointless.

Got my ADHD snooze-addict rear up!

Snooze bar addiction has been killing my mornings. It's been a bad habit for years and it causes my mornings to be foggy, moody and I end up rushing my kids -making me feel awful. Yesterday, I was in search of an alarm clock app that wouldn't turn off on its own (or for at least a few minutes) unlike the second alarm that I keep in the bathroom that turns off after thirty seconds- so it's too easy to ignore as I am warm and cozy in my dark bedroom. This app went off at 5:30am and I went to hit snooze out of habit- nope! I set it to ten steps which it about the distance to my coffee pot. I reached the kitchen, the alarm stopped then I laughed a little bit at the simplicity it took to get me out of bed and poured a cup of coffee. Oh, another thing that helped- I put a lamp on a timer that turned on 15 minutes before the alarm so when the alarm went off, I wasn't in a dark room when I woke since sunrise is not for another hour. I love this app and highly recommend it. I got up two hours before it's time to leave today. I'm having coffee, watching the news, then I will wake up my kids with a smile as I feel alert and rested and not groggy and half dead after hitting snooze for an hour :)

Great alarm app, but missing a key feature

I installed this app on my phone to help curb my snooze addiction and so far it works great! Both the "walk X number of steps" and the camera versions of the alarm work perfectly well to force me out of bed to stop this loud and annoying alarm, which in turn makes it harder to postpone getting up when I ought to. My only complaint is that there's no real way to disable the alarm without performing whatever task you set it up with. On most mornings that's a good thing as it keeps you from cheating, but it becomes a nuisance on days where you've deviated from your schedule (ie you got up extra early and left the house before the alarm went off or are sleeping somewhere other than your home and you're using the camera based alarm) and forgot to cancel the alarm before hand. If the alarm goes off and you're not in a place where you can take steps or don't have access to the place/thing you need to photograph in order to disable the alarm, the only way to shut it off is to uninstall the app. That's a little crazy!

A Life-Changing App

We all know someone who can never be on time in the morning. For 30 years I was that person. I have tried loud alarms, alarms that shake the bed, multiple alarms with staggered alarm times, alarms with loud rock or metal music, and a gaggle of apps. This alarm app always wakes me up. It will not shut up until you complete 10-30 steps (20 is enough for me to wake up enough to realize I need to stay awake) or to take a near-identical photo that you preset (i.e. A picture of your coffee pot). Yes, there are loopholes if you try hard enough to get around it so you have to want to make the change. Now, I live with my fiancée and if the alarm doesn't wake me immediately then she will! All in all, this app seriously changed my life. If you really want to change from always being the person that's late to being 5 minutes early everyday (like I am now!!) then stop reading reviews and download this app. This is the only alarm app worth having.

It uses advanced image recognition and step tracking technologies to check whether you’re far away from your bed. After ringing, the app asks you to capture another photo of a specified place, it should be where you usually be every time you wake up, such as the bathroom, the kitchen, ... You wake up and go to wherever you want with the device. After reaching enough number of steps, the alarm will automatically turn off.
