The description suggests that the app has text recognition capabilities. It’s not true. It’s a really pretty app that has potential, but it’s seriously lacking. There’s no way to upload or sync your notes. No FaceID. No way to delete pictures that you’ve added. No support whatsoever. The developer’s website is a photography portfolio. The main reason I purchased was the ability to take text straight from a book and add it to a note. It’s simply untrue, and the pictures on the App Store are not the actual app.

Love!

I love this app a lot! It really does encourage me to write and it allows me to get my thoughts out as soon as I’m thinking them. The simplicity makes that very easy for me. I think one thing I would suggest if it isn’t too much of a hassle. I would love to have time stamps for the time that I’ve started writing. I tend to write on several occasions throughout the day. This is easily worked through by putting my own time stamps but I think it would be cool and convenient if it was able to be put there automatically ya knowAnyways I love this app a lot it really helps me a lot especially through the small tough moments in a day.

This is turning into my favorite app!

Such a great and minimal design. Easy to just get writing and look at past entries. Just writing down little thoughts throughout the day really helps. I always have my phone on me so I write more than pen and paper.

The best journaling app for people who get easily distracted

This app is so awesome. It’s so simple and doesn’t require you to sign up or become a member or anything like that. Truly the best journaling app out there.

Aesthetic & simple

I really enjoy this app!! I’m generally very picky when it comes to notes apps but I find myself using it daily for the simplicity, how clean it looks, and how quick it is to start a note.~Message for the dev~A few things I’ve noticed:•The app will freeze and crash when you long press on a quote, when the quote is at the top of the page (most recent ‘post’)•In the tutorial page it says there’s an option to take a picture, “saving book excerpts” however there is no option to do so anywhere and I’m using the most recent version of the app•Sometimes when opening into a standard text note, the 3 options, ‘back’ ‘attach photo’ and ‘check mark’ don’t appear. So far I’ve only noticed it when I switch from HighNotes to another app, then back to HighNotes(Edit:) •also for some reason I can’t save/export quotes at all :(A few suggestions :)•.gif support 🙏 when the pic is clicked and brought to that image view ‘page’ •dark mode 😈All in all; a great app, awesome UI, awesome app icon, & fun to use! Awesome job creating it on all fronts!

great app, needs improvement

i absolutely love the interface, it's extremely simple and easy to use which i prefer over other more flashy journal apps. the problem is i'm worried if something happens i'll lose all my entries, so i'd like a feature where you could creat accounts to keep your entered safe and not lose them. i'd also like a better options to look through past journal entries instead of scrolling. so while i may love it i will probably use another app because these 2 things are kind of big for me.

Beautiful Simplicity but Needs Updating

Is five stars except... This is exactly what I was looking for in a minimalistic design, but it needs an update for iOS 14, REALLY needs iCloud sync, some way to export our data, and when swiping right to see the dates needs to be some kind of a clickable index where if you have hundreds of entries you can quickly move from one date to another. With even just a few of those features it’s a 5 star app.

Good, but still has some flaws

I’ve been using this app on-and-off for a few weeks, and overall, I like it a lot. It has a nice, clean interface, the search function seems very useful, the controls are very intuitive, I love that it notes if you’re making the entry in the morning or evening, etc. I don’t use it exactly as it’s intended because I’m a talkative person and like to use the app for long, rambling journal entries as opposed to the quick snapshots it seems intended for, but I still like it and find it very appealing. That being said, so far I’ve found two issues that I would like to see improved. One is that I think a having a “zoomed out” view of your entries available would be nice. Some sort of calendar view that notes which days you made entries and how many entries, for example. If such a feature currently exists, I’m having trouble finding it. Second, and more troubling, is that the app will occasionally close my entry without warning me or saving what I’ve written while I’m in the middle of typing something up. I’m not sure if it’s related to the position of the “x” icon to cancel an entry, which is close to the keyboard, or if it’s just a glitch, but I’ve lost some entries and thoughts I was really glad to have on “paper” in that way. I’ve taken to saving my progress multiple times as I write up an entry and then going back in and editing to add the rest of my thoughts to avoid losing too much, which obviously isn’t ideal. If the developers could fix those two things, this would be a 5 star app all the way.
