Decent app, needs improvement

** update: we found out what likely lost all our data - a delete button on the achievements page. It’s location makes it VERY easy to accidentally push. A message to developers - please consider moving this feature. It doesn’t need to be so easy to do, even make it a protected feature, like you have in other places, requiring a math problem solved by an adult to access. If this is fixed I will give 5 stars. I have now bought full access to the app because my son enjoys it so much and we know to avoid the delete button now.——-We're only using the free version, but my son had earned a few achievements he was very proud of and while he was looking at it, all the data just disappeared. He's devastated. Will not be purchasing.

Wonderful!

¡Me gusta! I have been trying to learn Spanish through the years via classes and other language learning apps/software, and this is by far the most entertaining! Although this is geared towards children, I think it is perfect for any beginner or novice. I wish the app, or even the company behind it, had a section for listening to children's stories in Spanish to improve listening skills, but other than that, this app rocks!

Very close to 5 stars

Our son is in kindergarten Spanish dual immersion. He is English speaking and we don’t speak Spanish. This games is great in SO so many ways because while playing a fun game they are learning to listen and match Spanish words with drawings on cards. Awesome idea. EXCEPT for almost every kid his age they thrive on rewards when doing good. THIS game sadly do the opposite, it takes away stars when they fail and if they fail 3 times they have to start over again. After watching my kid play this game quite few times I will say I’m 85% sure this is the reason he don’t like playing it anymore. And therefor the reason I won’t buy the upgrade and the reason Im only giving 3 stars. Just have a look at studies for rewards and praising kids when doing good. 🤩🤩🤩

Great Value App

I purchased this app for my young kids (6,6,4). It has a great variety of basic vocabulary which focuses on Spanish words with a photo. The interactive games keep all their attention and earning “stars” is an extra bonus of positive reinforcement. As an adult learning Spanish, I have picked up extra words and enjoyed the games myself.There are also extra short music videos which keep my 2 year olds attention. Overall it was money well spent! I wish this app was in other languages as well!

Amazing!

This app made it so easy to understand! Lemme explain, they will teach you words on flash cards then test you! They associate the spanish word with the corresponding picture! Other apps will associate the spanish word with the English translation and it gets overwhelming. This time, no! They of course tell u what it means on the flash cards but when they test you its fast paste! They tell u a spanish word and show 3 flash cards and you pick which one u think it is but its timed! The timer motivates me to keep doing the test until i get FULL points! Thank you app!!!

Use earphones for sound to work / Greats for adults studying Spanish vocab

I’m an college student reviewing Spanish. This is a great app for refreshing or learning basic vocabulary. I think the problem with most other apps that attempt to teach you Spanish is that they teach by translating Spanish words, for example “libro” =“book.” What I love about this app is it just shows you a picture of “el libro” so you associate the spanish vocabulary word with the object or verb rather than the english translation. On top of all this, games are pretty fun—which can get repetitive because it all involves flash card matching, but the new vocab at each level makes it feel new. The only thing is the sound doesn't work unless I use earphones. I use Bluetooth ear phones, so I’ll need to try it out with the regular plug-in ones.

New Spanish speaker

As an almost 19 year old who is taking a year off of school, I decided to learn Spanish to keep my mind busy. I figured if this app works for kids it would work for me, and I absolutely love it!! I use it in combination with other resources, but it really helps me start to associate spanish words with everyday objects, because (like another reviewer stated) it doesn’t translate from English to Spanish, it teaches you the words like you would teach a child to speak English.

Awesome game! But...

This is an awesome game for kids who want to learn Spanish. It helps sooo much, so kids can learn Spanish with games, and music. This is a awesome learning game. My only bad thing is you have to pay for levels. This kid is so fast, she got through all the levels! The levels she COULD do. There are four or five levels that are free. There are sooo many other levels, but you have to pay to do them. Now this kid can not learn all the Spanish I thought she could learn from this game. I’m not saying you shouldn’t get this game, because it’s awesome. I’m just saying that you should be aware that you have to buy levels.🙂

Better for 6-8 year olds

I got this app for my 4-year-old. He likes the flash cards and the first two games for each topic, but the third game is too hard for him because it goes too fast. He loses stars and gets upset. Aside from that it’s an ok app. The games are exactly the same for each topic, just with different vocabulary words. Eventually that part might get boring. Each flash card has a picture and the word. The words don’t help him since he can’t read yet, but it would be helpful for people who can read. He benefits from hearing each card read aloud and I ask him to repeat. It has also been good for him to practice words in English that he doesn’t know yet because we do it together and I tell him what it is in English. For example, he learned “wheelchair” and “walker” because he saw the pictures and when we played the games I told him what to pick using the English word. There are a few short videos related to a few topics but they’re not that great.

Spanish Speaker Approved!

I speak fluent Spanish and its is so important to me that my children learn the language for family and future purposes. Since they will learn English from growing up in the US, I do not want them spending too much time on English activities, especially on the electronic devices. Often times I don't feel language apps are authentic enough and the Spanish does not seem native. This app is wonderful! Design, content, and variety are all very impressive. I like that they offer flash cards (electronic and printable), songs with music videos, and excellent visuals! They did their research and found very efficient ways in e- teaching! My two year old (almost three) flew through the demo in less than a week and so I decided to purchase the full version (my first time doing so for my children). This app is a STEAL for what it teaches early learners. My American husband is getting a kick out of it also!
