iPad

The lag on the iPad (when I have to use it), disrupts the recording, stopping, and after hitting okay in microphone questions. Also, I'm a new user, as well as someone who didn't grow up with computers. As I learn how to use the AP, I do find it easy to use. Living with a disease that keeps me horizontal, outside of a few minutes at a time, I'm grateful to have your program to learn so I may still pursue my dreams and have my lyrics of my life heard one day. Although I may not be able to stand up and sing, I will find my way! Keep in touch, you never know how famous I may end up being. Oh, and when I get there, maybe your company will give me an affiliate site, so others may experience what I am. My future realistic goal thoughts! Stacie CoG Healing

Could easily be great, but isn’t.

Does anyone else seem to randomly lose the ability to login? I’ve had to recreate accounts because after a little while I can’t get into my account anymore. “Login failed. Please try again.” Apparently there’s no way to fix this, and there’s no customer service and nothing online. This has happened 3 times and I’ve lost ALL of my music every time. WHY is there no customer service? When actually able to access my own account…Unless you’re using a MacBook, syncing is impossible, even when PERFECTLY in time with the metronome…each track is off from the previous one which is just ridiculous. You can only be in a room with one person at a time…whyyyy? That’s just ridiculous. Why isn’t anyone smart enough to make these basic changes to fix these issues? I don’t recommend this app for these reasons.

DON’T GET THE APP!!! REALLY BAD

This review comes from someone who uses an iPad to make beats. When you first open the app, it flips the screen like how you normally use an iPhone. It isn’t too bad until you have a tablet with a keyboard attached to it. You could flip the screen until you create a new project. I feel like it isn’t necessary to fill in my personal information like my email and birthdate. I just want to enter the app and make beats. When making a beat, the app tends to lag and freeze up. I couldn’t save my project a couple of times when this happened and ended up losing my progress. The app needs to automatically save your progress instead of having to do it manually once in a while. It lacks the ability to edit your notes with a piano roll. The interface isn’t really user friendly like GarageBand. I found the volume throttle and tools like it difficult to turn it.

Half good

So I had to make a school project. All I had to do was play around with making beats. I started working, and sat at my computer for a while. I went to take a break, so I saved it, and when downstairs to read. But when I came back up, my Chromebook had turned off. No big deal! So I open Soundtrap up again. And when I tried to edit the track I already made, it doesn’t let me. So I think:“This is annoying, but I can always make a second track beneath it. But when I start making a second track, it sends it back to the beginning of the song, which is not where I want it. I move it back, but since I’m using beats, I edit it. This sends right back to, you guessed it, the beginning. Please allow for tracks to be edited and remove the fact that when you edit beat, it sends you to the beginning.Another problem I have is with recording my voice. Last year, I had to do a recording of myself speaking for school. But every time I record myself, it sounds really bad. I waste 3 DAYS trying to figure this out, and eventually realize that you got to edit the sound to Clean 1. No clue why they make the default static, but I guess someone thought they should.So all in all, Soundtrap (of course, not the app, because the app is terrible, never use it if you can use the desktop version) has ruined 1 school project, and wasted 1 hour and a half of volunteer time sitting at a compter, after working until 4pm.Please fix this.

Each Update is Worse

I love this application. But the mobile app just keeps getting worse. The new opening straight to the studio is frustrating. I want to open the app to see my projects. Also, the project display is worse. Bring back the old version where you could click the project and move the time to wherever you want. Why would you think it is okay to get rid of this? If I want to skip to a certain part to hear it, I should be able to. The new color way (or lack there of) just makes everything confusing. This app was a 5 ⭐️ app maybe half a year ago, now it’s just plain stupid. I’m sorry but these updates are unnecessary and frankly, make it a worse experience for me and your other users. Please consider making the changes back to how it was, how it should be. - BeatsByOT

Doesn’t work on my computer

This app could be great, unfortunately though, it’s not. I first tried using the desktop version on my laptop, to no avail. I usually use Garage Band on my iPad to edit vocals and got this program specifically so I could do that on my computer instead, but for some reason the desktop version refuses to use my microphone. I spent two hours going through my computer and Soundtrap settings, only to give up because of how frustrating it was. I guess technically it did connect, but I couldn’t get the volume up and it sounded very VERY muffled. So I decided to turn to the app. Thankfully, the app was able to acknowledge the microphone, but the app doesn’t carry the tools that I want to use and crashes VERY often. Also the whole point I got it was because I wanted to use my laptop. I had the grand idea to record on my iPad then edit on my computer, but even though I’m on the same account and use the paid version it won’t sync well between devices. Anyway, for my purposes this app/site has been very frustrating, but it does have some good things packed in. I’m sure it’s useful to many other people

This app gets worse the longer I use it.

I found soundtrap about a year ago and it seemed like a dream come true for a beginner to recording music, but at this point the app is basically useless to me and the desktop version is becoming frustrating as well. On mobile, you can’t use headphones - HEADPHONES. Which means you can’t actually listen to anything you’re doing (the iPhone’s built in speaker really doesn’t do anything justice), and you also can’t record anything or else you’ll be able to hear the track you’re recording over in your take. You can’t edit instruments, and you have to manually save constantly. The app also crashes all the time or fails to load things in. It needs serious help if it wants to keep its user base thriving on its technology. I don’t want to switch to anything else but I’m looking for alternatives at this point

Crazy

I loved this app In the beginning but it seems like the owners just left us with something thats messed up every time I have a subscriber I have to delete the app after subscribing than re download than delete again than download it again just for it to work than they add a tab that you can’t even tap on that’s for artists or songs section nothing happens… I can’t even make my choices of sounds octave or fade in or fade out anymore seems like theirs a bug and a glitch and the owners don’t really care anymore would put five stars but looking at the reviews and having this app for years and doing my work in here for years just went wild especially since they don’t respond or try to look at the reviews and see the problem just money hungry companies sad…. Don’t get this app if your just looking for a limited opportunity that’s not far for limitation

STUPID IDIOTIC APP

I HÂTE THIS APP WITH MY WHOLE ENTIRE PITIFUL EXISTENCE. NOTHING CAN EXPRESS MY ANGER TOWARD THIS ABSOLUTE STINKY GARBAGE TRASHY APP. me and my sister had been working on a song together for OVER two MONTHS, not days MONTHS, we saved it every time we closed the app. one day i opened the app and it said it COULDNT save right then because SOMEONE ELSE had updated the app. THEN IT CONTINUED TO DELETE OUR WHOLE SONG WE HAD BEEN WORKING ON. I HOPE THÉ CREATORS READ THIS AND RELIZE THAT THE PAST YEARS MAKING THIS LITERAL GARBAGE APP WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF THEIR PURPOSELESS LIVES. I HOPE YOU SEE THIS AND REALIZE THAT THIS APP NEEDS SOME MAJOR UPDATES BECAUSE IT IS SLOW AS CRAP. and one more thing I HOPE THE CREATORS REALIZE THAT THEY RUINED MY CHANCES OF BECOMING AN ARTIST. THANKS A LOT. MY LIFE IS RUINED. I HAD HUNDREDS WAITING FOR THAT SONG TO COME OUT. Nothing Loads

I could have the best internet but if there is a sample of audio that isn’t midi… scratch that. The beats/drums, the midi, or even audio seems to be enough to just make a track stop playing randomly. Could you by chance make it so I can download the audio to the app so even if my internet isn’t straight up 100gb per second it can actually play the entire song I’m trying to listen to without freezing or just straight up stopping, also can we not open a project when I open the app every single time. Atleast make it a setting to pick which the person prefers. Another thing, why is it if I play a track then leave the app open for a while and come back, nothing plays at all. Not a huge deal breaker just super annoying having to close the app then exit out of the new project is forced me into and then I play 15 seconds of the track and it freezes then I have to start over. (A slider for time in a track would be nice)I’ve been subscribed for over a year and to be honest if I find another software that is even barely better I’m unsubscribing
