Good app, did the job

Update- had to use it again after a few years. Got stuck but emailed and received help, got it working. This is a great app for exporting text messages and the developer is very helpfulI found this app on a google search and decided even to try it even though it was a bit more than I wanted to pay for it. I had difficulty working it but emailed for help and received a speedy reply and a link to a helpful video.I recommend this app if looking to export SMS messages.

excellent app!!!!

My wife passed away recently and I was very nervous that I would not be able to save all her text messages...expecially to me. This software was easy to use and worked exactly as expected and I was able to download all the text messages from her iPhone and iPad. Anyone wanting to extract all text messages from your iPhone...well I would HIGHLY recommend this app. Just a Note: I was having problems getting the export button to work but I sent an email to the support team and got an answer in less than 24 hrs. I used the desktop app on a Windows 10 PC and it worked perfectly.

Best download text app

Love this app. I have been using it for the past 4 years. Paid $4.99 once. Can't believe how cheap it is for what you are getting! The app loads easily onto your desktop and then works perfectly. Very user friendly. No problems, ever. The only thing it doesn't do is download pictures that were sent via text. I have seen some text apps that download pictures in color. It does download emojis though. Before you download to desktop, you can select what text messages you want and the dates. Downloads into Excel, which makes it even easier to sort info later. Really awesome app, I recommend it for sure.

Had issues but is fixed!!

I had issues with not all messages showing up that I had sent. I reached out to the developer and he worked with me to get it back working. I am so glad because I use this app for messages that I need to have reviewed by my attorney and the court system. Very nice app. Thank you so much for getting it fixed for us!!

Does just what it says.

You have to install it on your phone, on iTunes on your PC, and download their application for the PC. Once you do this, it works exactly as they said it would. I searched for a while trying to find something to transfer my SMS files ok my phone to my PC and all the apps were $30 but this one did it for $5. Also, I had difficulty with it recognizing that I purchased the app at first. I emailed the support staff and they responded in 53 minutes with a solution that helped me get past my problem. I would definitely recommend this app if you are looking for a cheap way to get you texts from you phone to your computer. This won't be the prettiest looking app you work with and it may take a little extra work to set up by it gets the job done.

User friendly

I’ve used other apps that do the same thing, this one is by far more user friendly and I don’t need to go back to the FAQs to try to figure out how to export my texts. Well worth the $4.99. As long as you follow the directions of downloading then it’s very simple. I like how you can choose the contact, date ranges, how to sort them, and what kind of file to save as. PDF is not an option but I exported as HTML then from there exported as a PDF from my Mac. Would definitely recommend!

A little confusing but it works

Having lost my partner and getting a new phone, I needed a way of documenting our time together and not letting it go. This app was a savior that made my day and break down into tears once i succeeded. If you follow the steps, it works! Tho I ran into a couple hiccups, but emailed the company to get a response within 24 hours, which they included screen grabs and a better description as to what I was missing. Only thing I would suggest is letting the user know, to go into settings and allowing the app to do its thing. This was told to me later and had that been stated I never would of bothered the developer. But it’s all good, cause they did help, they wanted to help and I am 100% satisfied with getting the results I wanted for $5, as a posed to similar apps charging 50$+. Thank you for developing this app, thank you for the affordability and thank you for being an actual human who replies to clients concerns.

Excellent app and just what I needed

Took only moments to set up to start using. Had very small glitch (my fault) where it took a few minutes for my Mac Desktop copy to show as Registered User so I could export my file of all my messages. I did contact support and they replied promptly. Actually I had found the solution within minutes of asking for help (I just quit and re-opened my Mac desktop copy of SMSExport - duh!), but I was impressed how quickly they responded, and on a Friday evening besides. Very happy with this app!

Requires backup to iTunes

Waste of money. Very few people back up their iPhones to their computer as the iPhone now has a huge storage capacity, and it’s MUCH more efficient to backup to iCloud. If you back up to iCloud and are unable to back up to your computer due to not having a hundred gigs of available space on it, you cannot use this app.And by the way, this is not an actual phone app. The “app” is just a single page with instructions on how to use the free desktop app. You can activate the desktop app just by entering the first word found on the phone “app” info screen. Anyone can just enter that word, which is “QUICK” to activate the free desktop app.Useless...

Give credit where it’s due

This app does just what it says it does *(and if you see the verified ownership this one certifies as opposed to the other copy cat apps taking credit with no certification of ownership)*This just literally extracted 4 years of texts messages that I’d thought I’d never get off of my phone for a legal matter. what the heck is wrong with Apple? iMessage isn’t so convenient when you need to copy and paste an entire thread of texts to and from and if you’ve restored from a certain point your back up is set to the most recent date! How does that help in any which way???! You can’t download old iMessages either so I have to give this app, the true certified one via Apple, 5 stars because of its simplistic and easy to use step by step guide and the fair price in which is listed for not like those other apps where you’re required to have a MAC and also pay upwards of $50 to do just what this does for $7! Thank you!!!!!!
