Great game…but there could be more
I’ve played this game for quite a bit, and it’s great. The models, the variety of the ship types, and the islands. All of it is great! I just have a few ideas. 1. Maybe there could be like, a free play mode, where it’s open world where you can pvp other multiple players with the current ships and island you have. I think that that’d be cool. 2. Maybe after you’ve unlocked all of the ships, maybe you could play in first person view of them (as the ship I mean.) and you could control the ships functions like firing it’s cannons, and ascending and descending, you know kinda like that. And one last thing. Maybe add some more ships or something. But other than that, great game! Keep it up!
Potential but …
This game was great until I realized it’s just 3 minutes of back and forth stalemates and usually when someone wins it’s Bc the ships act weird -don’t fire forward when they should turning the wrong way etc . It’s just back and forth , “here you blow up my ship very easily and then I’ll blow yours up to “ and I’ve noticed the enemies ships always seem to fire on your island from farther back .. why do my ships have to go all the way to their beach while getting torn apart before ever getting a shot off . It’s hard enough to even get a ship to the other side Bc the pyro ship and Kamikaze will destroy anything on the way , and ofcourse .. you save 300+ coins for your frigate or dreadnaught and you just pop one of those out just as they arrive to your shores ..boom.. keep tap tap tapping away for those dollars .
Addicting!
I love this game so much, it made me write my first ever review on a game. What I like about this is how it doesn’t force you to pay to win. Obviously it is an interesting option to buy gold or crates but it isn’t a necessity. Plus, I’m a fan of steam punk so the aesthetic is another reason I give it 5 stars!
Pretty good
I actually like this game a lot more than I thought I would. Great graphics, engaging gameplay, and great replay-ability. The only thing I’d change is maybe make a few more game modes? I can imagine this one getting pretty old after a bit (though it hasn’t for me). All in all, definitely recommend.
Has a ton of potential
This is already one of the best mobile games I’ve played in awhile and with some tweaks it can be an amazing game in general. If you continue to develop the game in a direction that makes it better(not just adding cash grabby features/events) then I will probably end up putting hundreds of hours into this and wouldn’t mind a subscription service to support you guys (but please for gods sake don’t push your micro transactions I will instantly delete the app if you do)1)we need more ways to get gold, I get that the scarceness of gold is how you make money but right know it’s possible to get locked in place since the only way to get gold is by winning in pvp I suggest a reduce reward on losses and extra gold on wins depending on your ranking.2)reduced building times or make instant completions cheaper. Right now it’s very difficult to get your island to a decent level because skipping just an hour of build time cost 1k+gold and you have a ton of stuff to build.3)alliance/guilds and away for those guild to interact competitively like in wars or claiming territory to produce gold or other resources.0
Great Devs
Maybe less than 5 minutes into the game, already hit a snag. The game wouldn’t let me update the ships. Normally, one might just delete the game and give it a 1-star rating, but I sent the team an email explaining the situation. They responded incredibly fast and had a fix in about an hour. Goes to show they actually care about that game. 5 stars for the developers.
Good but
Great game I’ve played for around 2 weeks now. I’m ranked around 17,000. I wish there was more to do, an alliance/guild feature would be awesome.Also I really wish I could use any ship I want in the three slots we can use for battle. I’m still going to keep playing this game is really good but it still has a lot of potential to add!
The feeling if success is missing
Lots of fun. But the fun gets squashed when your ship literally does a 360 spin, and turns the long way to line up a shot, while the other ships just tear you up. Alot of battles "feel" unbalanced with their ships either far ahead of yours, or even if they are the same level, they seem to just hit harder. Also, it seems like your opponent can just do damage so fast, but for some reason, even though you are getting ships on the other side, your ship does not start firing right away. The most common issue I find is that my dreadnaught wont fire on their cannons, but their dreadnaught is hitting me once they pass half the level. It just feels like you are always loosing and the feeling of success is missing.
Reward system is a failure
Winning battles net you gold and parts to upgrade your ships (this is good. If you spend all your in game currency on upgrading poor ship designs, you will forever be stuck in a losing cycle.If you lose you get zero gold and a few parts (this is bad). Additionally your battle rank does not decrease which means you continuously face players with better designs and no way to adjust your battle strategy or grind at a lower battle tier to improve ships (this is bad) Zero gold means you can NOT upgrade ships, thus forever losing streak as there is no way to reset ship upgrades or lower your battle tier. Potentially a good game but current reward system is a complete failure( death of game IMO)
Alright…
I’ve played the game a bit now and realized that the ‘players’ you go up against are just plain AI due to being allowed to wait on the ship select screen for any amount of time. Along with that the AI scales to your level of pirate score without allowing you to have the same amount of ship points as them. For example I’ve got 26k Pirate score and invested all my ship perk points into a single ship type, reaching lvl 34. Those that I am playing have at least lvl 40 ships across the board. I literally cannot equate without having spent money. Luckily the game allows strategy to outclass a vastly superior enemy force but it’s still quite annoying to go against. I’m stuck at either spending money to try to catch up (won’t and never) or hoping my strategy gets me though.
